Posted November 7, 2021 I had a big one yesterday, and don't know what to do. Now this has nothing to do with needing a separate hobby phone. As many of us do, we gain real friends in the hobby both men and women. It is great to gain real friends here. Then real phone numbers are used to communicate. Another thing that is not a concern in this case, is neither of us have an SO. We can freely chit chat. So here goes...We are texting about the fun thread "Will the Bush ever come back". I compose a text that includes words like, "escorts", "women", "fuck", and "hairy kitty". I hit send. Only to immediately see it went to my dearest, older female friend in real life that has absolutely no knowledge about this in my life. Nor do I want her to! The "Oh Shit", I screamed was probably heard through out the building. I immediately deleted the text and put my phone on airplane mode ( I heard somewhere that doing this can sometimes keep a text from completing the send). The I called my friend the text was intended for in a bit of a panic, no I was full on panicking. Spent some time trying to figure out, what I could possibly say if my friend asked me what is this text about? Oh and this friend didn't seem to be to worried about it, it happens they said. She will probably just think well that wasn't intended for me. I can't even look at my phone, and might not for several days. I am certainly not going to text her in the near future. Just worry she might think why would she send something like this and it's obviously not intended for me....but maybe I should end this friendship with someone who is texting a person with all the above ^^^^ words in them It is slightly humorous, but on the other hand not so much. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Posted November 7, 2021 Throughout professional life I have adhered to the theory of never put anything in writing - including emails and texts and private messages - that you would be embarrassed by or harmed by if the communications became public. Confine anything that fits that category to verbal communication only. End a friendship? No, those are too hard to come by. I too have sent texts to the wrong person before but it only happens when I try to carry on two separate conversations at the same time, so I try to hold that to a minimum. Posted November 7, 2021 Oh my god that sucks! We've all done it. I ALWAYS QUADRUPLE CHECK the number when sending a new text to a lady/provider wanting the first initial contact through text. I sent my sister a sexually worded text that was suppose to be sent to a friend. Yea, she responded back. I felt like a total schmuck for a week! As my sister made me feel like a total heathen, and rightfully so! Like leigeois said. The interpretation of the text is going to be based on the context of how words were used. The word escort is a tricky one to get around. I would be creative and find a crazy article involving an escort. If she ever brings it up. You could say you happen to come across a crazy article about an escort. Regardless, I can empathize and feel that empty stomach feeling of the not knowing. Posted November 8, 2021 Well chances are slim that your text got deleted. A phone that was connected will send a SMS text quicker than you can stop it. Cover story is you lost your phone at some store. It wasn't locked. Store was able to contact you hours later after it was turned in. Damm kids must have had a good time with your contacts. Say a number of texts were sent out but at least they didn't do anything other than prank texts. Posted November 8, 2021 I know how you feel!! Been there done that. Not fun. I can still vividly recall the chill, shutter that went through me once I realized what I had done. I could not breath for a moment. Actually started a thread about it several months ago. I was multi-tasking; typing an email while texting with a young lady cast in one of my shows and at the same time texting last minute details with another young lady about a very naughty, kinky, upcoming rendezvous. To make a long story short the YL in the cast received the text meant for the YL in the rendezvous........ I had rehearsal that night with the actress. I have faced some incredibly difficult situations in my life and I can tell you, walking into the theatre that night is still close to the top of that list. Take a deep breath baby girl. As far as I knew, neither of those activities were included in what I was paying her for meal plans and workout routines. When I asked her about it, she was mortified! She explained that she was using talk to text and had no idea how "muscle gains and fat losses", which is what she actually said, got sent as "muscle games and fucking". Posted November 8, 2021 I know that if you don’t have service long enough the message can fail to send. Hopefully that happened for you. If it did send I would try the talk to text explanation. I have seen texts sent using that feature from a pocket like a butt dial catching a background conversation. Lots of solutions to the problem in this thread. A few weeks ago I had my phone stolen while I was at the gym, but I didn't tell anyone. I posted to my Facebook that my phone had been stolen at the gym, and I lost my contacts and to please text or message me so I can have my friends numbers again. This particular friend, was the first one to send her number As far as I know that never existed and it will remain that way. Now here comes the bonus. Posted November 16, 2021 Probably too late but my company email went through a similar thing couple weeks ago. A person about to retire sent out a farewell to everyone in our district. There was an almost immediate reply from a legitimate recipient that was weird and creepy. About half day later, the recipient sent out a legitimate email to all saying that her email account was hacked and she was working with our IT to find and fix the problem.
