Music While In Session?

31 posts in this topic

Do you guys like to hear music when you are with a lovely lady, if so what are the types of music you would like to hear.

If you don't want to hear music what is it you want?:D

I do like to hear music. As a 42-year-old guy, I like "classic rock" that now oddly includes 1990s grunge that I grew up with. If you have access to the satellite stuff without commercials, even better.

If I'm at an AMP, which I have visited on occasion, I like to hear the goofy Asian music, which somehow enhances the experience.

I remember one FBSM session where the lady said, "I don't even know what station this is," so right off the bat I knew that music was not important to her. The fact that you are even asking this question shows that you know the joy of music.

During this FBSM, I was "treated" to sad country songs about failed marriages and cheating spouses that only made me think about my affection-less marriage and increased my guilt. Turnoff.

If the client's musical preferences are unknown, some cheesy instrumental jazz is actually fine. No matter what, I would ALWAYS prefer some music over nothing. Light a candle and you're all set.

I like Neo-Soul music, but the greatest CD (to me) playing during a date is this one:

I do enjoy music during a session. I have always been partial to side 1 of Led Zeppelin IV

Classic - people have always told me I look like Damone.

Look at the bottom of your screen. There are at least half a dozen threads asking this exact same question

Is there anything new or original you have to share about this beaten-to-a-pulp topic?

Animals as Leaders, is non lyrical, soothing, and simply amazing, coming from the lady who loves LYRICS! But, this way, it wont bring up any emotion related to the song :). From what I have heard, Music always gives the silence a breath of fresh air.

I do like music during a session (as long as it is not real loud), as long as it doesn't hurt the conversation.

The type of music depends on the type of session: Slow relaxed session = soft rock, classical or jazz Porn star energizer bunny type = fast paced like Apache or telestar by the Ventures or something by Journey.

I would stay away from the country songs unless you know the client and he requests it.

I like any music that stays in the background and supports the mood the provider wants to create. Most providers ask me what I like, which is nice for those who are particular, though they might not get what they want. I'm not particular as long as it's not a mood killer, which to me would be rap or acid-rock, and I'm happy that the provider is happy with her music/mood selection. As everyone has different musical tastes, I suspect it'll be hard to really please them all, and besides, do I really want to spend much of the session going through a provider's musical library to find what I like? Ain't worth the $4-5/minute I'm paying to be with the provider:)

I don't really care, but one of my favorites always plays Elton John and sings alone for the whole session. I now get turned when I hear Elton which is kind of weird.

The first time music was ever played during a session for me, it turned out that her playlist was how she kept track of time and silly me was none the wiser. Horrible experience as she was actually a very bad provider. Not just saying that after the fact; wish I'd checked her reviews beforehand..

Because of that playlist and experience, I'm always weary of clock watchers or perhaps I should say "listeners", whether the music is intentionally for that purpose or not, unfortunately :-(

So how do you want time to be kept?

I've had the "playlist" time card used before. It works well.

I play pandora and ask him what he prefers, or I go with the Eagles, or Tom petty. Simple solution to let them choose though :)

Having Pandora or Spotify is very nice accent to a GFE type session. One of the reasons my ATF is my ATF is we share a common interest in music; Indie, Americana etc., pre-session we usually talk about new music we've heard and then set up Pandora appropriately :)

since i usually host, i'd just roll whatever's on the current rotation playlist - Linda Ronstadt, Bad Company, Buddy Guy, Big Head Todd.

truth be told, some of the more memorable sessions have been accompanied by Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington, etc. maybe it's a black music thing . . .

Absolutely! I love it when a lady takes the time to set the mood with some tuneage. Sade, Enigma, Marvin Gaye, anything sexy is soooo nice. Now, that being said, I'd prefer any music, to nothing at all. Even a loud fan, running water, machinery, gunfire, etc. works for me :P.

Right now, I am playing Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, All Green, Nina Simone, Louis Armstrong, Barry White, Thelonious Monk, Billie Holiday, John Coltrane, and some Miles Davis. It is a Blues/Jazz/Classic R&B playlist that I shuffle however it is about 2 days long so could never be used as a "clock watcher".

Some others I have been known to play....Sade (anything), Norah Jones, Dave Matthews Band (Live at Piedmont Park), Led Zeppelin (anything), Journey (anything, GOD damn that's some heavy make-out music), Portishead (Dummy). Depends on my mood I guess.

I think there is something about songs that BEG and BLEED love and sex. Never had one single complaint about my get busy music though. So I guess I know what I am doing.
