For me, the real cartoons were made in the 50’s and 60’s.

After that I never did see any entertainment value in the ones made after that.

Guess that makes me an old fart.

For me cartoons were Sunday AM.

Dick Tracy, Katzenjammer Kids, Lil’ Abner, Prince Valiant, Beetle Bailey, etc.

The evolvement of cartoons over the decades is a little bewildering! I can’t even watch what my kids watch now and I bet the same can be said about my era!

I agree the "funnies" were the best. Today most aren't funny.

If you mean the "Sunday Funnies" as formerly printed in newspapers and that either started in the 2000's or continued into the 2000's: Dilbert, Sherman's Lagoon, Boondocks, Andy Capp, Bloom County.  All time favorites that would only count if you include syndicated reruns because they ended in the 90's otherwise: Calvin and Hobbes and The Far Side

Saturday morning cartoons for kids (and grand parents, hehe) on tv: SpongeBob, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Star Wars the Clone Wars

Adult animated, regular series: South Park, Simpsons

Recurring animated movie series: Toy Story, The Incredibles

So kinda depends on what you mean :)

I used to like the "Born Loser" when I actually took time to read the newspaper. The "Simpsons" for television.

I like my humor to really push the limits of what most consider offensive, that being said:

South Park

Archer

Rick and Morty

...are all my go-to's for animated comedy's. All of them should be on Hulu. I also enjoy the hell out of some good ol' fashioned high drama, ultra violent, Japanese anime. A couple recommendations:

Berserk ('97 anime - usually you can find it on YouTube. I think the newer CG animated movies are still on Netflix, but they are arguably not as good as the original anime)

Claymore (should be on Hulu)

Elfin Lied (Amazon Prime)

Cartoons aren't nearly as good as they used to be. Jetsons, Bugs Bunny, Flintstones, Tiny Toons...

I have to disagree. Archer is one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen, let alone cartoon. I also enjoyed Disenchantment, Home Movies, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Not sure if Beavis and Butthead count as a 2000’s cartoon, but I liked them as well. South Park is still rocking strong.

King of the Hill, Bojack Horseman, Bob’s Burgers, The Legend of Korra, The Venture Bros!

Seriously, Venture Bros is one of the best. It’s weird but so very good.
