I love my annual prostate exam: a finger up the ass, and Medicare pays for it!

Plus, he’s kinda cute

It’s a twofer.  Afterwards she smears a slide which gets checked for colorectal cancer as well.

I believe that is what the PSA blood test is for.  So if doc still going anal on you, well it is probably because he/she enjoys it.

Some doctors prefer the finger method as the PSA test can give false positive indicators.

Next time you go to get yours checked, assert your dominance and put on a pair of exam gloves the same time the doctor does...

I highly recommend anyone 50+ to get their prostate checked.  Ladies who offer prostate is not quite the same!

Thanks for the reminder.  Some of us gents are older and should be checked.  I'm just glad mine still works, and I do get checked every year.

I don't really mind the exam but I need to find a female Primary Care Physician that will check it instead of sending me to my Urologist like the one I've got now does....

Thanks but no thanks. I don't want to catch anything early.

I currently have a woman doctor and all she does is stand in the corner with her laptop and talk to me and give referrals for everything.

I was complaining about severe knee pain and she never examined my knee.  Sent me to an orthopedist.

Recently had a blood test done and she called me and said get to the ER now. Turns out I spent 4 days in the hospital with oneumonia, blood clots in my lungs and septic. Went back to her 2 weeks after getting out if the hospital and she had go for another blood test. Never listened to my lungs. Would not prescribe more antibiotics. Again back to the ER as my pneumonia hadn't completely cleared up.

She would never digitally check my prostate. She would send me to a specialist.

That's her methodology.

I need a new doctor.

Yes, you do need a new Dr.

But in her defense, that’s what insurance companies pay her for these days - filing paperwork.

Unfortunately my insurance so far is refusing to pay for my hospitalization and the last ER visit.

I’m currently up over $100k in hospital bills since the last week in July.

Its going to be a fun time fighting the insurance company next week when I’m back in town.

If you're doing it like this, you're probably doing it right!

Yes you do. I interviewed a new one Monday and, at this point, I think she's gonna be a keeper. It was a little strange to have a medical transcriber in the room with her but it let's her concentrate on me instead of doing data entry and I can ignore the transcriber.

I've had women primary care physicians for years. This is the first one who has not done a digital prostate exam or checked my testicles.

When I had to change doctors because of a change in insurance, the first doctor group refused to accept me as a patient.

I needed a doctor ASAP and this one was close and she would accept me, so I went to her.

I’ll be changing insurance again soon I hope and will be able to get my old doctor back.

That's why I went to concierge doctor practice. I pay my subscription fee every month and can see them as much as I want to, they take great care of me, hour long appts, etc.  Wait, does that make me their sugar daddy?

All kidding aside, I'll never go back to a normal doctor practice if I can help it.  For less than a hundred bucks a month it's worth every penny.  And for those without insurance you should really look into it.
