I have been a tob member for a significant amount of time. Browsed around but never got to meet any of the wonderful providers here. Because of the chicken or egg problem. I find someone I would like to meet, try to contact and the first thing I need are references. Now I don't have any. The alternative is to provide Id like a driving license. I understand the need for safety for these wonderful entertainers, appreciate it. But I have also been a victim of identity theft at least two times. And that defeats the sacred tenet of anonymity in this hobby. Tying myself in knots. Any solutions from more experienced hobbyists and providers?

Well you need to hunt around for a newbie friendly provider,  who will accept what you are comfortable giving out. Tell her up front that you need to be able to get a reference from her, to build up your credentials. We all have to start somewhere. Most girls understand this. Read the reviews to look for one. This girl may not be exactly what you are looking for,  but it gets your foot in the door. She might also have a friend who will do the same for you. Then you have two references , with which you can use to see a girl you wanted to see to begin with.

As stated above, do a search on TOB with the keywords "Newbie friendly". Be prepared for screening. Most of the ladies that are newbie friendly will require some form of screening.

Different ladies have different screening methods.  Be prepared to follow any of the screening that a lady requests.  If you are unwilling to follow her screening protocol, move on to the next lady on your radar.

I wouldn't send a photo of your ID unless you black out pertinent personal information.  She may ask where you work so she can call and ask for you.  She may ask for social media information.  She may not ask for any screening at all.

Since you have been a member for a long time and have been following the board,s you should know how to keep yourself safe from scams.

It does suck if you don't references, but you asking someone else to take a risk without you taking any risks.  If you want to play you have to take a risk on having your identity stolen, being blackmailed, going to jail, being robbed and killed, but all of these are possibilities no matter what you do.  If you are careful and smart you can greatly mitigate your risk, but not eliminate them.

Thanks to all of your great insights. Given the nature of it, some risk will always be there. I am thinking aloud: If a provider has great reviews all around, then sharing some form of id is probably justified; may be blur out some details?

I have had several that don't run me through any screening. Makes me think they are relying on some sort of secret list you ladies operate and use as your way to chat about us hobbyists.

At one time they were both owned by the same individual, but even then they were totally different entities.  TOB focused on advertising & discussion. The initial TOB was actually two(2) boards, one devoted to each of these activities. The owner acquired it from TO when he decided to retire from the field.
P411 was developed as a verification site, with some advertising.

A few years ago, both were sold to different(?) folks.

Calm down folks. Let's enjoy what this platform has to offer: a reliable way to pursue pleasure without getting ripped off or hurt. Happens both ways. It is certainly not an unreasonable demand to be safe on both ends.
