Funny Holiday Shows/Movies

32 posts in this topic

Ok folks it’s that time of year again! 🎄 ❄️ ⛄️ 🎁 I get to torture my family and have them watch a crazy Christmas movie every Friday night until Christmas. What are your favorites or memorable movies that I should force on them this year?🎅😁

I like Christmas Vacation, Grinch (Jim Carrey version), and of course A Christmas Story. Those never get old. Hahaha Can’t wait to see everyone’s faves.

Can there be any better than “Miracle on 34th Street (1947)” or “It’s a Wonderful Life”?

For total bombs go for “Jingle All The Way”

If you want to get out of the house and see a movie at the theater, I would suggest Last Christmas. I charming holiday movie.

A bit twisted but Reindeer Games. Kinda of a hot scene between Affleck and Charlize. More adult themed though. Family friendly movie White Christmas.

Try Santa Claus the movie with David Huddleston and The Santa Claus with Tim Allen.

There was also a Christmas movie with Jamie Lee Curtis and Tim Allen. Also there was one with Jamie Lee Curtis and Eddie Murphy...I think that one was Trading Places.

Since Hallmark Channel and Lifetime started Christmas movies in October, it has been non-stop made for TV movies in my house.

The Nightmare Before Christmas and Christmas With the Cranks. And I second Bits suggestions.

You can add "The Night Before"  with Seth Rogen to the other excellent suggestions above.

As Kaduk mentioned "Bad Santa". (I love the "fuck me, Santa" scene!)

Also, the 1938 version of "A Christmas Carol".

Two that I watch every year ...

The Ref with Dennis Leary - hilarious.

Long Kiss Goodnight - sort of like how Die Hard is a Christmas movie.

I'm into the animated oldies...  Charlie Brown Christmas,  original Grinch, Frosty,  Rudolph, Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town, Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas...  I just saw "Wonderful Life" for the first time this year, really good!

SO many great quotable lines - in addition to the amping up of the action from scene to scene. LOVE this movie.

Glad to know of another fan.

Die Hard 2:Die Harder is set on Christmas eve. It was filmed at the old Stapelton airport, don't blink during the aftermath of the shootout in the luggage area. My personal and sentimental favorite is "Santa and his 7 Dears."  RBG at its best and most fun.

I also highly recommend "The Christmas Chronicles"  on Netflix. Kurt Russell as Santa. Brand new last year and it's an instant classic that has been added to the list of Christmas movies to watch every year.

Somehow I don't think Santa and his 7 Dears are mainstream movies and rated G or PG

Its been out of print since the company that made it went out of business . Filmed in Denver in the 80s,I still have my screener on VHS. The fact that its a RBG might give you a clue as to its genre.

I didn’t know Justice Ruth had an acting career😱

Seriously, with so many meanings for ‘RBG’ WTF are you talking about?
