JR Battled diabetes really badly, I used to talk or text him at least a couple times a month. Scary to note I drove him around town to get errands done and possibly I should have stopped driving long ago, that is for certain.I would clean his home too other various errands. The last  conversation I had with him was 2/21/22. And he was explaining that he was returning to the hospital. I was really contemplating on posting this . As being a part of the dark underworld of Escort, as you know we are always the last to know. This guy was often misunderstood- yet if you took the time to get to know him? You would love him for being JR. He was a member on here pretty regularly too. 

His high school class and brother put on a memorial on for him back in May. I am reluctant to post his picture. If you wish to know more? Not that I know a great deal. Feel free to contact me.

So sorry to hear about this.  He and I had some good conversations via PM's.  We new some of the same folks in LA from the 80's.  Kali, thanks for posting this.  Makes me feel my age and mortality and that seems to be happening more frequently.

So I am now feeling a bit guilty because I tend to  become so consumed with my own needs that a chunk of  time passed with not hearing  from JR? So,, I sent him a text message and no response.. A few days passed. I started to really wonder and i got a sick feeling and  googled his phone number and that is when I was able to find his memorial.Taking him to Costco, Kaiser, other places .it was never a problem. He would also scold me on my driving and I would remind him, you know JR, it is not going to get any better!  Of course we would laugh and I would tell him not to take pity on me. My eyes are my eyes and I will be fine. I just need to get home  before it is too dark and I would leave him and drive home. He admired you all. He owned a little two bedroom bungalow house north of me. He made his second room into his office and  filled with his memories of his past. He was a very interesting man and a special friend  I will miss.

I wondered what happened to JR. I liked the contributions he made to TOB.

He had so many real life stories about the adult scene that was long before the internet. People, places and a memory that was unmatched.

The world of Hobbyists , is pretty much a myth. I just want to know who cleared all his memories off of his office wall?! I hope he felt nothing but pride while someone cleared his home. He had an incredible vinyl record collection too.

Thank you both for your lovely words of compassion! He was definitely an interesting guy and loved the forum. I know you both would have enjoyed him in person too. He knew all the porn people, strippers, as well as us ladies. Many of the guys who are old timers with TOB  A few years back he took some nice pictures of me as well as a few other ladies in the business.

@Happymon, you are correct he told me several times that the dancers and the porn ladies needed to keep their bodies “ink free” .
   Honestly, I seriously don’t know too many ladies or men without tattoos. Tattoos are very popular and acceptable in our culture. And I have heard guy’s here  on TOB that like to see ladies with ink. To each their own. No judgement from me.

I’m one of the inkless. Ink was forbidden in my spec ops community.

That said, I do enjoy viewing a well planned canvas. I’m intrigued by full body suits and sleeves.  Not so much a hodge podge of celebration stickers. I know that each has their own personal story, but it looks like a well travelled steamer trunk.

Both myadult kids have tattoos. I am coming to a point in life to accept them more too. No desire to have on my own body other than cosmetic tattoos, which I am doing because of losing my vision. Eyebrows, lip color, and eyeliner.  Very subtle changes.
