RIP Thank you for correcting me. My memory doesn’t always remember correctly. I do remember the New Christy Minstrels too now that you brought them up.

Posted March 23, 2020 In early 1971, I was at Texas A&M University being tested in Math for a scholarship. After the tests, a few of my high school buddies and I walked into an auditorium where the cadets were setting up chairs. On the stage was a band doing sound checks. The singer came down to the edge of the stage where we were standing and said hi, I’m Kenny Rogers and this is my band, the first Edition. Then he played what condition my condition was in. I didn’t know him then, but I stopped and bought his record on my way back to my hometown. My brush with greatness. 😀

Kenny Rogers was at the table next to us. My wife started talking to him and he turned out to be a great person and funny as hell. RIP Mr Rogers.

Multi-talented---> Kenny did a substitute week as guest host on the Tonight Show once.I thought he was a Great interviewer and could of made a career out of that if he had wanted.

Personally, I think Eddie Money was overrated. But then again, I think Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber are overrated. I for one can’t sing a lick. They wouldn’t even let me in choir in grade school I am so bad. But I know what I like and don’t like. Edited March 23, 2020 by ilovewomen

That being said, I'll take rock over country most days.
