Staying healthy and active is great advice for all of us...physically and mentally.

Just want to bring up we need to be extra careful not to schedule with our at risk gents during this time.

We also need to reach out to those high risk gents and see if there's anything they need...besides a bj😂

All of us need to do our part and keep this virus out of our community.

As one of those "at risk gents" I say hold on a damn minute here.  For how long?  Until July, August?  I will take my chances, but will be pretty selective ..... wait I always am!  If I remotely think I am ill or exposed I will not see anyone.  But my personal risk is my business and celibacy is not an option so kindly do not boycott "us" for our own good!! (But thanks for wanting us well!)

But that’s actually kind of the problem; it’s not just you. This is a great way to think of it.

We have taken risks every time we hobbyed. Some physical, social and legal. I understand everyones fears. We take risks everday. Now if China was losing a few million people, it would be frightening. They aren't. This like everything will run its course.  In combat there is either a bullet with your name or there isn't. Worrying about it isn't going to change one thing. Do your best to make a wise choice.

Thank you so much for putting this thought out there. I don’t want to make it sound like I don’t appreciate it because I do but unfortunately the ones that need to hear this, are the ones that don’t read this or the ones that don’t respect our screening or the ones who just don’t care in general. Most that are On TOB, that participate in the forum, most of you gentlemen are amazing so I just wanna say thank you for that and thank you for caring. I hope it’s more contagious than the corona virus cause it’s not looking good so far and it just began. Unfortunately my second profession is bartending so I don’t have anywhere to go. But thanks for helping us even the thought means a lot... Trust me ♥️

Im sorry,

But we are in the state of NATIONAL emergency. People are not allowed to even walk into a restaurant, even if you tested negative for the virus, because you are still spreading germs in general and could still be carrying it from one person to another.

The state authorities are basically saying avoid ALL contact with general populations. Instead there are women here REFUSING to follow protocol and see multiple dudes per DAY. Going to a bar is considered dangerous and these girls are doing SEKKKKS with multiple people per day every day.

THis is not a moral ground on 'providers' or 'escorting' -- This is a case of ACTUALLY being a danger to others by not STOPPING your escorting 100% dead halt until people are allowed to return to doing dishes, or tending bar. Stop thinking your special when lives are at risk.

Clever, what the writer did.

Only nerds like me would read a story on current medical research.

But mix in the porn star offer and you get a lot of interest.

I'm a nerd but not really  a nerd. Can someone please explain to me why this virus is so much more deadly than any other fucking virus mankind has come across?

https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/17/health/coronavirus-united-states-deaths/index.html

100? Seriously? H1N1 killed over 1000 Americans before Obama did anything. We didn't have 300 million dip shits fighting over ketchup and toilet paper. Someone please enlighten me.

Starting from the top; it’s new. As in unseen before. The reason they call it a novel virus is because it it from animals to humans. So it started in animals only then mutated to go from animals to human. Then mutated again to go from human to human. Then mutated at least once since that one. That’s an incredibly quick cycle of mutation that doesn’t normally occur so rapidly. It also does damage to the lungs which is not like H1N1.

As for the fighting over supplies...well that’s somewhat interesting and shouldn’t necessarily have caught anyone off guard. Think of it this way; we watched China lock everything down and make some serious preparations for containment. In the US we got a very different message that changed from “it’s not a problem” to “we’re closing our borders” almost overnight. And then it’s closing schools and other nonessential services. And then any time estimation keeps getting blown out. Not by like a day but weeks. So now you’ve got people being told to stay home, some with kids and family that would normally eat outside the home, all stuck in the house for what looks like several weeks and no idea when things will return to normal and also being told supplies will last and not to panic while also closing things down. As an example some kids get 2 meals a day, 5 days a week at school. If that’s not something parents normally shop for then there’s going to be an influx of items bought to fill that void.

If I take myself for example. I hit the grocery store 3 times a week. I do keto and have so for about a year now. I cook almost all of my meals because I generally use fresh ingredients with the exception of things I buy for baking. Now I’m told to limit the frequency in which I go to the store to as little as possible. Meaning I now have buy more of what I’d normally purchase plus some canned foods just to fill things out since it’s not really feasible to try to freeze everything; limited freezer space.  If everyone follows that same trend then there will undoubtedly be shortages where they didn’t exist before. If people don’t follow that trend then they’re not really changing behavior and thus doing little to “flatten the curve” we keep hearing about.

There are some going overboard for sure but with a constantly changing message coming from the current administration that is progressively going from bad to worse the actions of individuals should come as no surprise. Realistically stores would’ve put a ban on people buying pallets of items and limiting it X Number per person. I say person because households vary in size.

And I guess lastly there’s a weird assumption and comparison to other viruses that have come and gone. Which I get but there’s a sense of binary with this one. The seasonal flu kills an absurd amount of people each year in the US. So what happens if you get this virus that causes a shortness of breath and other immune responses as well as the flu? I’d wager it wouldn’t be pleasant.

Hopefully that helps.

Edit: right now seasonality doesn’t seem to affect it.

Lets keep it simple.  Flu in a bad year kills up to 50,000 in US.  And you can be vaccinated for flu (helps, not perfect) and there are antivirals that help with flu.  This corona shit has no vaccine, no proven remedies.  Most models that were run that reflected treating it like the Trumpites (Limbaugh, Hannity, Jones, etc.) said (it's just a cold!!) in other words not aggressively trying to stop, would result in 2 to 3 million deaths in the US.  And the kind of choices no one wanted to see - which of the 1,000,000 that need a respirator gets to have the 100,000 available.  And NOW it has turned into a daily lie fest campaign speech to replace the campaign rallies that had to be cancelled.  And a bunch of always kept locked in the basement emergency services nerds that LIVE for this shit but rarely get to be boss, and they are just as happy as pigs in a mud hole to be enacting all kinds of the plans they have worked on for years - just without the resources to do it right!!  So we went from near criminal inaction and denial to over reaction to look wise, strong and in charge.  Oh, and insider trading by Senators based upon briefings in January.  Never a dull moment.

At risk of beating dead horse, any that are in a position to help those that are being hit hard and for whom the emergency gov measures will not do shit (sex workers for sure!!) should do so to the extent they can.  Please.

If it went from animal to human then why is human to human so alarming? That sounds like the natural evolution of viruses, arguably an anomaly that could predate homo sapiens. That’s an incredibly quick cycle of mutation that doesn’t normally occur so rapidly. I agree. It also does damage to the lungs which is not like H1N1. But it is SARS, which we also encountered (2003, I think).

As for the fighting over supplies...well that’s somewhat interesting and shouldn’t necessarily have caught anyone off guard. Not me. Pretty sure I know the nature of most people. Think of it this way; we watched China lock everything down and make some serious preparations for containment. In the US we got a very different message that changed from “it’s not a problem” to “we’re closing our borders” almost overnight. And then it’s closing schools and other nonessential services. This is an example of two weak forces. One: President is easily manipulated by the media. Two: The media has an irrational hatred for the President. I can understand both sides. As an example some kids get 2 meals a day, 5 days a week at school. If that’s not something parents normally shop for then there’s going to be an influx of items bought to fill that void.

If I take myself for example. I hit the grocery store 3 times a week. I do keto and have so for about a year now. You have a similar diet. However, I notice a lot of salmon oin the seafood area and steaks are back at the butcher's counter. Why then is the sushi section (until recently) always full of trays? Russian Roulette? Maybe. But how many hands have fondled those cans of Chicken Noodle soup? I mean shit, you might as well not even check the mail. I cook almost all of my meals because I generally use fresh ingredients with the exception of things I buy for baking. Now I’m told to limit the frequency in which I go to the store to as little as possible. Do you believe 'them'? If so, why? And who is 'them' exactly? Meaning I now have buy more of what I’d normally purchase plus some canned foods just to fill things out since it’s not really feasible to try to freeze everything; limited freezer space.  If everyone follows that same trend then there will undoubtedly be shortages where they didn’t exist before. There is a huge difference between buying a little extra and walking out of the store with 97 rolls of toilet paper because you believe wiping your ass is going to save you from a virus. Don't get me wrong, people please wipe your asses, but do you need 97 rolls of toilet paper? I'm single I'm fine. I just find human nature asinine. It's funny to me. If people don’t follow that trend then they’re not really changing behavior and thus doing little to “flatten the curve” we keep hearing about.

There are some going overboard for sure but with a constantly changing message coming from the current administration (and the media, let's not shit ourselves.. no pun intended.) that is progressively going from bad to worse the actions of individuals should come as no surprise (I'm not surprised. Ted Kaczynski, 2020.) That Realistically stores would’ve put a ban on people buying pallets of items and limiting it X Number per person. I say person because households vary in size.

And I guess lastly there’s a weird assumption and comparison to other viruses that have come and gone. Which I get but there’s a sense of binary with this one. That's the science I don't understand. I'm not in that loop. Probably, ultimately, the answer I was looking for. The seasonal flu kills an absurd amount of people each year in the US. So what happens if you get this virus that causes a shortness of breath and other immune responses as well as the flu? Sure, but again, I don't see the difference between this virus and SARS 2003 and H1N1 2008, and any other virus that has evolved alongside mankind. Flu is bad. I get it. I’d wager it wouldn’t be pleasant.

Hopefully that helps.

Edit: right now seasonality doesn’t seem to affect it.

Thank you for taking time to write this. Don't take my comments as an attack. I'm just spilling some thoughts. Take care

I understand all of this. What I don't understand is human behavior. WTF does toilet paper have to do with any of this?

Because if your family doesn’t have enough TP for 2-3 weeks you might be in trouble, especially if someone’s lower GI is effected.  Who knows when the stores may restock or close?

The feds told 'em to.  See if the linked "what you need to be prepared for a disaster" list resembles what is gone at stores.

Of course the disaster in mind was hurricane, floods, terror attacks, etc. and not the spread of a virus.  A virus they KNEW was coming in December, but did not jack shit to advise, inform or prepare until the administration could no longer deny the reality.  The virus sucks and is a real threat, however the panic and lack of preparation is all on the gov and the buffoon in charge.

I’ll try to answer your questions.

1.) The them: CDC and pretty all health officials are asking people to not go out if they can avoid it and to limit store runs

2.) the sushi: it doesn’t freeze well? If I’m answering for me I wouldn’t get it for long term use.

3.) no. It’s not the natural progression of viruses to go from animal to human to human. It happens but it’s not naturally normal. And they typical do not mutate this quickly. That’s the part that’s the most scary. That’s it’s mutated this many times and that there are current multiple strains affecting people when they don’t have much to do with the first strain

4.) SARS took 6 months for cases to exceed 5000 infected. COVID 19, 1 month. SARS was very seasonal. COVID 19 doesn’t appear to be that way but they’re unsure at the moment. SARS had a much higher mortality rate which doesn’t lend itself to spreading. It’s hard to spread if you kill your host. I think because it’s new, out of China, and spreading worldwide you’re seeing the concern.

5.) yes, some media outlets hate Trump. No way of denying that; however, the internet makes his response rather easy to track. With that said, I think it would’ve been bad for any sitting president. Most just don’t dismantle their pandemic research group, defund the CDC, and downplay everything until there’s not much to do but accept it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/comments/fl2rg2/oc_a_plot_of_covid19_cases_with_quotes_from_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&utm_term=link

6.) I really don’t know why people are going after TP. I don’t have the time but I’m certain there are examples of people hoarding weird things during a time of crisis. This particular one might not be as pressing as those in the past but it’s where we are.

Some people also resold them. They knew it was an issue so they profited. So you’ve got both things happening now. That’s also why stores are putting up signs that they won’t take returns of cleaning products, hand sanitizer, or toilet paper.

When the first wave of measures came out they (the administration) were talking a couple weeks. That then blew out to April 1st or so. Now I think mid May is the projection of things reopening. Schools I think are closed until August. And there’s an 18 month project of how long it’ll take for full vaccination and normalcy. So that might also explain some of the panic.

And only because I got this notification just now that more states are instituting a “shelter in place” mandate asking people to stay at home unless absolutely necessary. So yeah, people are going to panic.
