Using Photos of Someone Else?

24 posts in this topic

From another thread:

I've had good experiences with girls with obvioulsy fake photos that are relatively close to real. Comes down to how tolerant one is for a bit of adventure.

Guys, are you cool with a girl using photos of someone other than herself that are "relatively close" to what the girl looks like?

"Relatively close" is in the eyes of the beholder. I'm cool with it only if her ad states that the photos she's using are not of her.

NO,NO, and NO. The only reason to use someone elses pictures is to protect your identity. When that happens the lady may protect her own identity but she puts someone else at risk for being called a prostitute/hooker/escort when she may have no connection to escorting.

Use your own pictures, blur your face, photoshop out tats, whatever but do not steal someone elses pictures.

No. I can understand not having a clear pic of the face or tats for privacy. If the pics are not accurate on what you can see makes me wonder what else is not accurate either.

Absolutely not! While I understand the need for privacy and safety, there are any number of alternatives short of photo plagiarism (ex: no face shots, blacking out identifying tattoos, etc, etc). I think most hobbyists make decisions on who they chose to see based on what they see and read.. I cry "foul" when the visuals are clearly deceptive.

If you cannot show your own pics in this business, then maybe those that put "others" pics in place of their own should find another way to make a living. Without trying to be narcistic or advertise in any way,but I think I am fine enough to use my own. Dishonesty in pics/dishonesty in service should not be a surprise.

when I used to advertise, i would only hve pics taken of me without my face showing. Girls have put Playboy, porn stars or web celebrity pics on their ad and it's obvious. I had a girlfriend who got her pictures stolen from another provider in Texas before she started watermarking them. She told me she felt she had been robbed and violated and cried over all the work she put into them.

Using another girl's pics on an escort site is unacceptable. Unless she has permission from the girl to use her pics, and she states in the ad that the pics are "representative", it is theft and deception.

Ddog brings up a very valid point here. With how tech skills/links are constantly evolving, using someone elses pictures could permanently ruin another persons abilty to possibly find employment, etc.

I say this as now a days, employers require access to any potential employees Social media accts. Say someone uses some cute bathing suit shots of a YL in a bathing suit. Are not these Social media groups now offering ways to match pictures across the Internet? If so, in a background seach, they come across escort advertising?

Maybe I am over thinking it, but..

IMO... It it very easy to blurr, crop your face, blurr, erase your tats. I find no reasonable excuse to use pictures that are Not of you. Again, JMO...

Just my .02

Sadly, I can easily see an attractive girl, that is NOT an escort ( and has never been in the biz ) have her life ruined by someone stealing her photos for an escort ad.

She could be hassled in a public bar, have a marriage called off ( or get divorced ) ...disowned by family....etc etc etc.

Its rather heartless of someone to borrow someone else's photo to protect their privacy with so little regard for the person in the stolen pictures real life privacy.

In my opinion NEVER acceptable to use someone else's photo. For discretion - which I value greatly - no face shot, blurred face, etc. is acceptable and understandable. On a related note - EQUALLY unacceptable is a lady using her own photos but photos that are several years old and no longer representative! If the pics are five years and 40 pounds ago, take some new ones! And no, nothing against heavier or older - each to his own. But when I make a final decision of whether to see someone based largely on photos I want to see the same when the door opens.

Not comfortable with wrong pics. Hell, I had pics of one girl where they were her just 15 years out of date or so. Only bad visit I've had really.

I would not even try if I knew the pics were not of her. Do I trust someone else's rendition "looks same as"? NO

There are too many others that do have pics that are verified.

Id be depleted as well as my wallet depleted if I visited all those with accurate pics. Nice quest to think about for sure.

I'm not Ok with it, what does "relatively close" mean, the same color hair? I know that's not what you meant, but besides the reviews, pictures are all that we have to go by.

If the lady answering the door isn't the same as the pic I walk.

I'm wondering if the cops haven't got some easy busts this way,

using someone else's identity is a crime in a lot of states nowadays.:o

I saw the quoted text from mrvergs63 and tend to agree with it.

To qualify:

I've been doing this since before pictures were ubiquitous(nay even available), and for me, it comes down to a matter of degrees. Overall, yes using someone else's pics is always going to be bad. Using them as representative but with permission is less bad(like that ever happens). However, using someone else's who has images commercially in the public domain(eg porn star), while may have legal ramifications, is still less bad than the previous 2 examples; if for no other reason than its pretty easy to figure out that the reigning porn queen is prolly not touring Denver incognito.

Having said all that, yes there have been times where the pics were representative at best, but the session was ok.

There has been some reference to dishonesty, but lets face it: this is not the most honest business, it has no standards or regulation, and if the session is good(didn't get robbed, got a nut or 2), most guys are going to be wearing "boner glasses" definitely during, and lots after(see controversies re Pics Accurate? for examples).

I am with the majority here. A definite no. If an escort posts and mentions the pictures are "representative"................even then, more than likely I will pass. Everyone's idea towards what is "representative" is different. If it is not mentioned in the post, I show up, and then find out that it is NOT representative............then it's just going to make things awkward with me leaving. Even if it turns out well, the whole time my mind is going to be racing thinking about what else I don't know. Don't like it.

While I can understand a girl not wanting to show her face for privacy reasons, using someones elses pics is just wrong. Blur the face and tats if you want, but using fake pics is deceptive advertising.

What MrReindeer said.

Even "real" photos are not "real": Many year old photos, the 50" ass, 40" waist hidden under lingerie and angles, Photoshopping out the "few tasteful tattoos" ("few" and "tasteful" being eye of the provider).

As for stealing photos from the internet and the consequences to the women that put them out there: tough! You put your slutty pictures on your Twitter/Pinterest/Instagram/Facebook/etc in the hopes of being "discovered", well, IMO, as dumb as a bag of rocks, deserve whatever comes down the pike.

Add: the full quote, without the covert shilling angle (be it photography sevices or "EB providers far better than the rest"):

Ditto.

That said, I've had good experiences with girls with obvioulsy fake photos that are relatively close to real. Comes down to how tolerant one is for a bit of adventure.

But, if there's other crumbs of information out there that, at minimum, come up as yellow flags...

I find heavily photoshopped pics just as deceiving and deceptive.

No way, no how. Deception of any kind is unacceptable.

A couple of years ago, I raked a provider, who consistently used fake pics to promote her business, over the coals. Oh Boy, you should have seen the shitstorm and the white knights.

NO. For all the reasons already stated over and over (don't ruin another person's life just to "advertise safely"). :)
