Precautions?

25 posts in this topic

[Disclaimer: I’ve been off the board for quite a while — Except for occasional peek ins — so please delete this if it is too direct or redundant. But I did search, unsuccessfully,  looking for the topic.]

Based on the number of reviews and listings I’m seeing, I assumed the hobby is at some level of activity.

I saw another thread where someone posted that they were going to make an appointment and take their chances. Is this sort of the state of things? Roll the dice? (For both sides.)

Are providers doing any sort of basic health screenings — temperature and symptom check? (Is this reciprocal?)

I know this is going to seem crazy, but are folks possibly wearing masks? Maybe keeping a window open and a fan or air purifier or both going? (I  am aware of the effects all that could have on an encounter.) I’m really curious.
And if answers or discussions have taken place, please point me to them. Thx.

Your post made me laugh. Providers are not doctors, so I can't imagine anyone is doing temperature checks. As far as masks go, sure that sounds really sexy. I have had a few clients come in with masks and I tell them if they feel more comfortable to leave it on then so be it. I have only had one person leave it on and he was like 80. As far as precautions go, even before this COVID crap I am sure most if not all ladies are pretty hygienic and we have to be because of what we do. So that means washing ourselves very well after each client,  and replacing any towels, wash cloths, sheets etc. after each client. IMO you are more likely to get COVID getting gas, or going to the grocery store, as hundreds of people have touched the very same things you are going to touch, and no one has cleaned them between every person who has. So if you are worried about seeing a provider due to COVID   then maybe you should find another hobby, or just do cam stuff. Just like the flu, I can't imagine this is going away anytime soon.  So you can either hide away like a hermit, or try to take some precautions and live your life. Those who are still continuing to see providers, and those providers who continue to see clients are doing just that.

Well said

In CO, I had to wait in the parking lot until called, and then have my temp checked before I could see my Dr.

Here in TX, lots of places check your temp before allowing you access to their facilities.  They use a ‘no contact’ thermometer.  Had my forehead check at the motorcycle shop. They scanned my arm at dinner last night.

So, it’s not that farfetched for an escort to insure her safety in this manner.

I have had my temp checked at the dentist and Dr. but no where else. Strange they scanned your arm at a restaurant?

Don't bet your life on it. Plus many are asymptomatic.

There is a certain amount of risk in everything we do in life.  The hobby has always had risks,  even before all this. This is just one more potato in the stew. Each person has to determine how much risk they wish to accept. It is up to you to decide. Don't expect a provider to be a health worker too. I am sure the  girls will accomodate most reasonable requests, if asked in advance.

I did have one girl ask me to use a hand sanitizer. This was when I first showed up and before I touched anything in the room. It was a reasonable request. Took a few seconds.

I must say, I am not seeing anyone who isn't being cautious when they leave the house in their day to day lives. I'm getting tested every week and have so far only worked one week a month (only in June and July) which isn't sustainable but I'm definitely easing back into everything. I did buy a contactless thermometer and use hand sanitizer in the office as well as cleaning just like I had prior, which was extensively, but now I do open up both my glass sliding doors to help filter out the air. I'm on the fence still on whether or not to get a hepa air filter.

I guess it depends on what website you read, it’s not going away anytime soon, might as well enjoy life instead of living under the government power

The April 2 statement by WHO that you quote was almost immediately questioned widely and WHO later walked it back.  They simply said asymptomatic transmission had not been documented - not that it does not happen or that it is not believed to happen.  It was a stupid and misleading statement by WHO.  BTW if you are a government skeptic do you really a want to rely on a world government UN agency? One description of their misstatement:

https://www.newyorker.com/news/daily-comment/what-the-who-meant-to-say-about-asymptomatic-people-spreading-the-coronavirus

More current info based upon actual study and published by JAMA last week:

https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/07/health/covid-asymptomatic-transmission-study-wellness/index.html

There is a lot of less than reliable and contradictory info out there.  Before making personal decisions on your own health, it is wise to make sure of the source and reliability of info you use.  By all means do whatever you feel is right for you.  If you go to Sturgis be a rebel and wear a mask!!

That’s been one of the biggest threats/challenges of this disease.

One of the biggest threats/challenges of this disease IMO is disinformation (and lies).

And if one looks throughout the history of our country and other free countries, it is the latter category that tend to be the difficult ones.

I stopped at a dispensary last Friday and they scanned my arm for temperature.  That was a first.  It's always been the no touch forehead scanner.

Everyday we can read something new about this virus.  Wear your mask, don't wear your mask. Anythign is better than nothing. This morning I read where a research team said wearing a neck gaiter is worse than wearing nothing at all. Different research teams will all have different answers, do's/don'ts, etc.

Who to believe?

Believe this, wash your hands, cover your coughs, if you feel signs of a cold, isolate yourself...just like any old cold or flu.

AND WEAR A MASK OR FACE COVER IF YOU ARE GOING OUT IN PUBLIC.

BTW, the masks with a valve that allows you to expel you air when breathing, is no better then wearing nothing at all. Those valves allow all the air and droplets that you expel out to escape from the mask.

Well I prefer and have managed to stay out of these covid discussions . If you're afraid of it stay home or do whatever you are comfortable with. I myself have no desire to live my life in constant fear. I choose to accept i may catch it. I may die. Keep in mind as an essential worker we never got time away from my fellow employees.

I just get tired of people back and forth with the do this do that when even the experts have no clue...

I wont stick my dick into a hooker until there's good medicine or a vaccine available, or the rates of transmission have gone down to close to 0.

Guess you’ll be doing without for a couple years.
