Avoiding attention at a hotel

I usually walk in talking on my cell phone as if I'm in the middle of a business call: "No way, there's not enough margin in the deal for us on those terms, we have to change the distribution for...blah blah blah."

It gives me something to do while scoping out the elevators and a reason not to make eye contact with anyone I don't want to look at and who I don't want looking at me.

Make sure you turn off the ringer if you really aren't talking too someone... lol

I’ve never understood why people get so weirded out in hotels. There’s a ton of foot traffic and almost everyone looks out of place or lost.

Because those of us with lots to lose hate the mere thought of being the exceptions noted here?

When going into a hotel for a meet up don’t be shy…….

Walk in like you own the damn place!

I guess. But if you have that much to lose why take the risk at all?

LOL! My man. There are no stupid questions. Some people, and you can lump yourself in this grouping if you like, simply don’t like the question because of the introspection and maybe disliking the answer.

But what do I know? I’ve no worries walking into a hotel. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have worked and managed several hotels. The staff doesn't care.

Be professional, polite and tip the valet and/or the doorman, nod and smile a the housekeeping department as you pass them in the hall, treat the staff with respect.

Ask for directions to the elevator and walk to the room as though you are going to see a friend is in town for the weekend.

If you look like you are trying to hide something you are going to draw attention to yourself. The hotel staff is more concern about parties and those who sell drugs from their establishment.

I've also managed several upscale hotels in the past. Finally got out , now run my own customer service business ( I can say no to the customers now ... but that's a whole other thread 😂🤣)

All suggestions are great and to the point! ( Except the nun ... unless it's Halloween... then THAT would be hilarious!  🤣

At times I'd get stuck doing the night audit / graveyard shift, and would always notice ladies coming in at late hours. I never cared what was going as long as there's no problems.  My only responsibilities were keeping things quiet and under control. What happened in your room is your business.  If things escalate and start involving disturbing other guests,  then I made it my business! Which usually didn't turn out well for the guest.

On those few rare occasions,  I actually struck up friendly conversations with the ladies, and more than once became friends with them . No harm , no foul🤗🥰

Well, that's interesting. So the front desk guy actually told you the room number and said he was making notes? Seems as though not all hotel folk take a blind eye to the hobby. But then again, he can't really PROVE what's going on. You could all be going up there for knitting lessons, or sound financial advice, or a mini course on repairing scroll saws. The point is the manager does not know, and why the fuck should he care?

What goes on behind closed doors is protected under privacy laws! I would have had his ass fired!!

My man, with the Black Power avatar! So authoritative it makes my inner white girl's panties wet, just appropriating that fantasmical BBC. Whew!

Now, how many nympho or necromancer, registered sex offender, child-molesting priest, saltpeter filled nuns worldwide, lifelong AA/NA/... member, or (insert compulsion here), would reply to the "why not just flip the switch" question with, that wasn't stupid. ¯\_()_/¯

A bit too anecdotal for the task at hand, let me tell you about a certain flag motel with a blue sign that used to thrive on the southwest side of Colorado Springs. Never stepping foot in it, anyone paying attention might snark, what does a dumb Hobbit care about that for! Bwah-ha-haha-hah!

Watch close, Grasshopper.

Hiding in plain sight under catch-phrases like, “private” and “discreet”, it was a fine, damn near zero-star establishment, until a sting that never happens happened, biting the management team who were allegedly in cahoots with alleged escorts to death and, adios amigos! All over the news! Along with “the managers” ;), do you think any clients got their faces pasted in the paper, too? As they say back home, ay dios mio! And, guess who stopped seeing the sexiest, most lustful, squirt across the room while working from home ATF he'd ever had the pleasure of Hobbiting, as close to immediately as he could after she had traded locations there? Your man Hobbit!

Wax on, wax off.

Of course, it might just be me, mistaking someone that has "no worries walking into a hotel" for someone with nothing to lose, but it could also be they just don't give a shit about anyone enough to keep their face out of the paper or, perhaps, it’s that no one, not a loved one, a judgemental client, or po-po gives a shit about them? What do I know besides, I do?

That I'm just a squirrel tryna get a nut, every winter.

I've knocked on the door with housekeeping standing right next to me at another room. She gave me this little smile knowing exactly what I was doing. I gave her a bigger smile and thought, wtf?!...why don't you join us!!

The housekeeper thing has happened several times. I know they know. It's just part of the game.

I remember a day just like that ...

I am always curious what the cleaning ladies think with all the wild sounds coming out of our rooms.  With the gap under the door, you might as well leave the dang thing wide open.

As a guest I'll sometimes say hi, ask about the weather today, just generally be friendly.  I know working in hotels as front desk can be a crappy job sometimes, I hope just a kind word their way goes a long way.

You know, the moment you opened with anything related to my avatar or my “BBC” since neither have dick all to do with the topic at hand is coincidentally the moment I stopped reading whatever convoluted diatribe you went on about.

It’s weird how many nonblack men on this board mention black dicks.

Not having noticed "many" men, black or otherwise, mention it very much at all, your comment made me look for "black dick" in "All Content" to find seven mentions, six of which are from a member whose race seems evident, and not from his moniker. But a separate search without the limiter did notice you lead with that identity quite a bit and, not just from an avatar, one might think you wear it on your sleeve, which says to a person that recognizes the cultural if not racial nuance behind "My man", that perhaps a little introspection as to why one would pick such an avatar and persona where dick is a thing, is in order? ¯\_()_/¯

Do you know what's (not) "weird"? Reducing an albeit loquacious answer to "why take the risk", the dumbest of all questions in an adult forum, that wasn't read, in a moment, to crickets. That wouldn't be from "disliking" the question, would it?

And btw, you shouldn't assume that because I identify as Latino doesn't mean I'm "nonblack". It's more than a tad ignorant.

If I’m the only person in the lobby, I’ll say hello to the front desk…especially if they say hello first.

Use the fake telephone call also if I have never been in the hotel before. What I have a problem with usually is after the appointment moon walking out of the hotel. :D

That’s why you take the stairs instead of the elevator when you leave sexy💋

I would be more interested on how a women checks in at the hotel not to tip off staff. Hotel clerks are now being trained to watch for women being trafficked. How they check in might be important, not sure.

We check in just like every other man or woman checks into a hotel.  We travel and stay in hotels often to visit friends and family or solo trips for fun and relaxation.  I can't imagine them treating us any differently because we're single adult women checking into a hotel.  I personally have never run into any issues being myself.

I no longer use hotels, but when I did...

check in with what appears to be "flying luggage." Meaning everything I take in to the room is all contained within a few matching pieces. A chick coming in all gypsy-like is a dead giveaway.

that, along with everything else y'all said.

Looking back through eight years of posts, my primary approach is to look like I'm staying there.  I carry a small laptop case in which I put her donation and perhaps a bottle of adult beverage.  If I can exit from a side door, I will do that.  If I'm hosting, I use the deadbolt to keep my room door slightly open when she calls or texts to tell me she arrived.  I'm a bit more cautious about an incall to her room.  Stings have been set up in hotels, primarily in rooms where there are internal doors opening up to an adjacent room.  Of course, if you arrange a date with a reputable provider, this risk drops to nearly zero.

One true story from a couple of years ago:  I was staying at a hotel in the South Bay area of LA.  I hadn't booked any adult activities for that night.  I got to the elevator and pushed "up".  I guess the lounge & bar must have been on the 2nd floor because an elevator came up to my floor.  The door opened and I saw an absolutely gorgeous 20-something inside.  I was 99% certain she was a provider.  Nobody else got on.  When she got off a floor or so below me, we made eye contact and we briefly smiled.  I was about <this> far away from saying, "If he flakes on you, I'm in Room 402."  Wow - What coulda' been!

Well I go to the desk and give my ID & CC and go to my room lol OR with Digital check in, is the best no need to go to the front desk and more likely no one will know what you look like at check in.  :)

I dress like I just got off my flight ...   Bags are matching and not hot pink or leopard lol witch I love

Look UTR ..

I can spot another provider if she way young just by who she  with or by how she dressed .

Exactly right - walk in like you belong there.

I usually engage in a make-believe cell phone call as well so no one will want to interrupt.

And getting the directions to the elevator beforehand is a must.

I always give explicit directions to elevator and direction after elevator.

For those on fake call, I hope it doesn’t ring as you are walking in, and past front desk.

I never bring my phone into to a hobby appointment. One more thing to accidentally leave behind. Once I have the room/apartment number and an OK to come in I lock up the phone/wallet, etc in the truck console. I only take my keys and the envelope...  If there is an issue (very rare) I will just have to return to the truck....  In term of navigating the lobby - no big deal. Walk in briskly, find the elevator (never difficult) and go have fun! No need to talk to anyone.
