If you ever plan on TOFTT in search of a new recruit, you may think about a hobby phone.

Or just the fact that you don't want anyone calling you at a less then opportune time ... then hiding your hobby phone is a great idea...

I use a cheap TracPhone. A $20 lasts 3 months as I rarely use the 120 minutes in that time. I leave it in my desk at work. Plus I'm a diabetic, do I leave it in the pouch my glucose monitor is in if any co-workers were in there when I wasn't around, but I don't think I have to worry. When I had a job without a work desk, I kept such things in my trunk. There were usually a few areas, either under carpet or in a small space by the wheel well. There is also a part of my front console in my car that snaps off pretty easily, for installing stereos and such, that makes a good stash spot. As long as I remember to turn it off.

But regardless, it is a good idea to have one, even if you never have an issue...better to be safe.

My porn is digital, the same with my "other phone" I have a google phone that rings my personal cell. Just turn the app off when i dont want to be disturbed. Only downside is you cannot send or receive picture messages

Yes, I have a hobby phone. It's a prepaid tracfone. I stash mine in my backpack I use for work but I'm not so worried about it being found. If you would have to explain any kind of texts or calls to an SO then I would recommend having one but if that is the case you need a good place to hide it. Some ladies just aren't all that discreet and will send out a text or call. Some also keep numbers so if someone else gets a hold of her phone that guarantees my real number won't be in her phone. I think it's a good idea but it also depends on your situation.

I have a Trac Phone that I use only for this one purpose, and I would never use my regular phone for this purpose. I also never call my Trac Phone from any of my other phones, and vice versa.

If you are single, it might be less of a concern, but even then, if any of the ladies you visit ever get busted, LE will definately seize her phone, and might just use all of their snazzy LE tools to find out the names, etc., of all the guys listed in their phones and their call history.

In addition, I never got indiscrete calls from the ladies until I visited one of the lovely ladies at the Aspen Affair -- after that I got texts with specials, etc. I like these girls, but wouldn't want the racy texts popping up on my phone while I was with my kids, wife, etc.

For $10.00 per month, I don't know why anyone would not have a separate phone.

Where to hide it: anywhere it can't be found (come on, did you really mean to ask that question?).

Heads up, when I activated the TracPhone, I went into a nice hotel, used a lobby landline, and used the telephone number of the restaurant in that hotel as the phone number that TracPhone wants you to input. Call me overly cautious, but I feel pretty good that it is anonymous.

I'm single, so I use my regular phone, an Android Smartphone. Can't be bothered with juggling 5 diff. phones. If you're married, though, it might be a good idea (which won't stop your wife from finding it at some point, anyways.)

All it takes is to forget clear numbers one time, or someone to look at the account or bill. Or a provider to decide to call or text at an inopportune time due to carelessness or vindictiveness. Where you can get a TracFone for $20....makes sense to me to get a seperate one.

Nobody gets my personal info -- and that has nothing to do with fear of being outed. It's just common sense.

Nikki's right, there are lots of providers who do not invasively screen. For me, any provider who demands an intake form gets swept aside. No big loss -- there are plenty of "fish" in the sea.

For the new guys, don't fall for this blowfish style intimidation. if one provider wants personal information move on to the next. once you give this information out you could find an ASP talking to your wife, boss, neighbors, or family. I have said many times before, keep your information private. hobby name, hobby phone, references if you have them. you can't walk through a door that's worth your personal information.
