Posted October 10, 2013 What is your opinion about Backpage? I was surfing through Backpage and it seemed impressive. With many different providers than are listed elsewhere. Most I never heard of before. I always thought of Backpage as a bunch of scams, stings, LE, ripoffs, no-shows, false advertising, bait and switch or bad service. But, I have no frame of reference just my hunch. What is your general opinion about Backpage? Is it a waste of time or worthwhile? Posted October 10, 2013 If you search the review section, you'll find a number of BP horror stories. But for me, it's been both good and bad. My business is pretty new, and as many gentleman already know, if you don't have references/reviews on a lot of sites like P411, here or TER, you can't get an account. Its a lot like a catch-22(or exactly like one). You can't post anywhere good till you get reviews, but you can't get reviews until you post somewhere good. [snip] I [believe] there are good providers on BP. [snip] Since I post there, I also check the other ads and I see scams and lame posts ALL the time. I understand why some people are leery of it. But again, from what I can see, there are often a lot of jewels you can find there, so I wouldn't cast a blanket dispersion over the entire site. Please, continue to check out providers on BP and post warnings about the obvious scammers or fakes on there. Just, please review the ones you try out who aren't here or on other places, even if they don't ask because they might not know. If I had known about these boards and other places when I started out, maybe I'd be better off by now. Everytime I have seen an opening like that, I got asked for CC info in the next screen. I did not actually go any further. Nor do I have any desire to. Seriously though, the sign up form is just to keep away people who would use my personal contact information for purposes which it isn't intended. My hope is if someone wants to meet me bad enough, they will be willing to sign up and check out my details. If they think the hoops are too much, then I guess they aren't interested enough in meeting me so no big loss, right? I have never, nor will I ever, scam anyone nor ask for their credit card information in order to book a date with me. I guess that's the bottom line here. Posted October 10, 2013 I've seen two providers, and I need to write those reviews, from BP and was more than happy. However, I chose them based on confirming reviews here, so I don't know if that counts. Anyway, BP puzzles me because it seems like 99% bs and 1% reality. Posted October 10, 2013 When I still did this sort of thing (still here occasionally because I retain some kind of sordid fascination with it), I have to say BP was the source of one of my best ATF type experiences. With fake pics and a rob too. Classic setup, I was out of town on business, used BP (I didn't know any better then!), fake pics, two girls show up after I ordered one, obnoxious girl sleight of hands one of the benjis says I shorted her, warns pimp in the car, service was lackluster after I gave her another. The other girl was very, very pretty (amazingly so, better than the fake pics) and very quiet. Got her numbers at the end of the lame appt. Called her up and said I would like to see her, told her I was not interested in her friend, in being ripped off, or lame service. Saw her the next day, absolutely fantastic, A+. Travelled out of town every other week for about a year, we negotiated a fixed price, she'd come by my room any night I wanted her to, we'd go get dinner or something and then we'd go to the hotel and play, then she'd go home. True....and because not all providers use reputable boards like EB for advertising (many have never even heard of EB), then BP has something to offer for the new or less experienced providers as well. As long as the client does a little homework on their own, BP can be an excellent source to see who's working....and where. For me, location is critical, so knowing who's working "north", "westminster", etc. is a fairly easy search with BP. Which brings up another point....whenever possible, ladies should include what area of town their incall is, whether their using BP, EB or any other advert because w/o general location listed, gents are just tossing darts, blindfolded. .....although better than tossing snails, I suppose 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Posted October 12, 2013 First, I'm not sure how it survived when Craig's List went down (the pre-med killer) sensationalism played a role. Backpage is good because you sometimes see VIPs going ghetto and that's a good way to meet but you have to follow BP regularly and be fast to cash in on those. Other than that, Backpage is a good starting point for quickies if you don't mind those, the problem is that the majority of the providers are the interwebs version of street walkers. It's also loaded with newbies that mean well but have weak skills or attitude. And you can never trust a picture until you do some research or they are posted everyday for months. Also that's where five-0 and vice go first. Not that they can do anything anyway...just follow the rules. Posted October 21, 2013 I'm finding myself less drawn to BP the longer I hobby. It's too much work to wade through the fake pictures. I spend more time reading reviews on EB than anything else. Biggest thing about Backpage is research research. Also just because someone has a lot of good reviews, doesn't mean the experience will always be good, regardless of where they post at.
