No Show Excuse

34 posts in this topic

Hi all, new to the site but not the hobby and had an experience this weekend that I'd like some opinions on. I had set an appointment with a verified, high $ ($1K/2hrs), well reviewed provider visiting Denver, and she even confirmed at 3am the day of. However, the time for the visit came and went with no info on location. I texted and called with no answer.

30 minutes later she texted back that her dog was sick and she had to delay her trip. She did offer to reschedule for later in the week, but the whole "dog story" just doesn't sit right with me, especially since I know she wasn't in her home state the previous night. For someone who touts themselves as a high end provider, and one who charges a premium, I didn't expect such a lame excuse, and an outright lie.

I am going back and forth on whether to reschedule. For me, she's crazy hot and right up my alley, and seems sincere about connecting. Do I go with my instinct to avoid and look elsewhere or laugh it off (shit happens I guess) and give her another try?

Did she say her dog was sick because he ate her homework :P

Sorry, I had to say that.:)

Really, only you can decide whether or not you want to take another chance and rebook.

Best of luck.

This reminds me a little bit of the "scammed" thread, in that you are being jerked around and you don't even know it.

I could be wrong though. Give her one more cance and if she shows any sign of flakiness, ditch her.

Maybe her excuse was not a lie. Lots of people travel with their pets. When this happens to me I will give her another shot if she seems sincere no matter the excuse and if not I scratch her of my list.

You are considering rebooking with a $1000 escort because she canceled due to her dog being sick???

Let me be polite in saying, are you crazy?

This is even better than needing to buy syringes for a diabetic grandmother.

her hourly rate is irrelevant to the discussion

her excuse is irrelevant to the discussion

maybe there is a dog, maybe the dog was really sick, maybe her client before you asked to extend their time and she said ""yes". you'll never really know so what's the difference??

Bottom line, shit happens. If you want to see her then get over what you call her "lame excuse", reschedule, and have a great time. If her "story" bothers you in the least then move on. The last thing you want to do is go into a session with an attitude (particularly one that is gonna run into four figures).

hourly rate and excuse are irrelevant until you offer your advice......

aside from that, agreed. I'm moving on.

Her excuse is very relevant to the discussion. If someone is honest with me in wanting to cancel or pospone an appointment, I am much more likely to go along with her "excuse" or reason for not showing up.

When someone tells me an improbable story of their dog being sick, they get marked off my list.

How do I know if she is telling the truth? I don't, but I sure as hell do not believe a provider is going to turn down $$$$ because of a sick dog.

I disagree, it's very likely someone would cancel because their dog was sick. To you it may just be a dog and not worth much but to many people their pets are family.

Yes, but the thing about it is that you pay straight (and copious) cash for vet bills. Seems to me she could have really used that money for vet bills.

I'd say, Give it another try. If there is another excuse to why she can't see you, thank her for talking to you and exit the conversation like a gentleman. With your head held high. Some providers don't come out and say, "I don't want to see you". I guess that is why I'm known as a bitch, because if I don't like the way I'm being talked too or I feel uneasy about someone, I tell them, "Thanks for the interest, but because of this or that, I'm not interested in seeing you."

I recently had one of those, "I'm Richy rich" contacting me. Dude would not follow my rules and was just plain cocky toward me. So I told him to piss off in the nicest way possible. I could have scheduled something with him, jerked him around and made excuses left and right, but I don't want that to happen to me, so I don't do it to others! :)

+1. My dogs are more important to me than any person. They don't lie like 100% of people do.

As for your situation, I would have been more upset for the lack of responsibility of her not letting you know sooner. I've had all too much experience with a lady canceling AFTER the appointment with some excuse. I don't mind the canceling, but the disregard for consideration is inexcusable. She knew you guys set something up and the sick dog thing could have happened last minute but, with technology today, there is always time for a quick text/email. Something along the lines of 'I'm sorry, I need to cancel. I will explain later' takes about 15 seconds to text.

Personally I would not reschedule. This is a business and I understand the sensitivity of the goods but if any normal business treated their clientele like some of these ladies, they wouldn't be around for long. It's not about customer service, per se, but about customer respect.

Think of it this way. If the tables were turned, would she give you a second chance without a penalty? Or a chance at all?

I know it is a tall order but all I ask is to be treated like a person. Hence, why my dogs are more important. For a species much lower on the intellectual chain than us, they sure do understand loyalty, respect and honesty much better.

I agree with previous posts - shit happens. I've found in this hobby that many times my "instinct" is right on. From what I've read it works well for the providers too. Either trust your instincts (which can be wrong occasionally) or take a chance it's your money and time. It will be interesting to read a review. I usually stick to the local talent because ones that travel a lot aren't held as accountable as those in this market - unless they have reviews from trusted reviewers. The talent here is great from what I have experienced so far :-)

Perhaps "dog" was a euphemism?

Had she said her "cat" was sick, might her reason have suggested a different interpretation?

Yep. Got one from puppy rescue. Had it for years.

I also know that if it is too sick, it will spend a few days with the vet.

Sorry that happened babe. Sometimes it's entertaining to hear the excuses. I had a multi hour that I planned my whole weekend around cancel very last minute. It happens.... not everyone is as considerate or gracious as you and I. We just have to pull up our big people panties and move on. Hopefully your next experience more than makes up for this one!:)

I would move on. But I'm a asshole so don't listen to me. I mean if she could of told you in advance. As a matter of fact reschedule with her adopt a sick dog then be like sorry my dog is sick. Then get into detail and be like it has diarrhea and it's shitting everywhere and I can't stop it.

Thanks for all the input. I moved on and booked a local who I've had my eye on recently and now have a new ATF and a few extra benjamins!!

I have had a few that cancel twenty minutes before the appt. This is a real inconvenience, especially after I just spent four hours driving over the mountains in winter conditions. I have stayed positive and let it go and tried to reschedule MANY times. Never available then no call back. If they blow you off the first time, take the clue, not considerate of your time. After all of the filed plans, usually is a let down when you finally meet.

Amen! Don't fall into the trap re: Golden Puzzy advertised on boards. Ain't nothing out there that hasn't been there for millenia.

Bummer. But, if doing the trip to the big city, book a nice hotel downtown (personal faves: Teatro, Oxford, Ritz) and have a back-up plan. And if not, enjoy a nice weekend. Even then, don't count on the Golden Puzzy being real or available, no matter how much some ASPs hype it and/or make it seem worth the Benjamins.

For a "high end provider," I would expect, at the minimum, an alien abduction or an emergency appendectomy excuse. Perhaps she will comp you for her lack of sufficient creativity.

Unfortunately no shows and getting stood up are part of this business. I've sat at gas stations on the corner of a certain intersection or in the parking lots of hotels and apartment complexes staring at my phone and praying a text will appear with further instruction more times then I'd like to admit.

Fortunately the good times have well outweighed the bad. Don't let one bad experience sour you on this hobby.

at the risk of covering old ground with other posts on the subject, but again i only see WRP's (well-reviewed providers), no super-young and no BP y/l's. i usually have chatted with them in chat or thru p.m.'s. also helps to send them a picture (not of my dick) so they don't shrink in abject horror when they open the door

never been stood up in my 10 years at this.

of course, it always helps to be respectful, charming, generous and flexible (in addition to the standard thrifty, clean, brave, cheerful, etc.)

for what it's worth, i had to cancel a first time appointment the day of with a provider because my dogs nose got swollen from a bite of some sort and needed to be seen by a veterinarian. i felt so horrible cancelling and took a picture just in case. the provider was understanding and we saw each other the following week. :)

No show sucks. But just saying that to some people dogs are more than just a pet, they are just like family.

Sometimes real things happen to real people.

If you would have told me a couple months ago that I would be spending 4K to have my dog's ACL repaired, I'd have told you that you were crazy. Now.....I'd ask if you knew a vet that offered a discount.
