Posted November 5, 2015 An interesting quote from an article on British SB/SD relationships."There's a very fine line between prostitution and being a sugar baby," I fail to see the distinction.
Posted November 5, 2015 Sugar babies, a LOT of them, don't put out. At least from articles and news stories I have seen. Maybe they are just staying UTR. I also think bang for buck even if they do put out is horrible with a sugar baby.
Posted November 5, 2015 from what I gather, it's basically just a long term arrangement. the baby gets an allowance and agrees to do what ever they agree to up front. basically it's a hooker with an open ended contract and a stable income source. just from what I've gathered...
Posted November 5, 2015 ...and agrees to do what ever they agree to up front.Which is where things tend to fall apart cuz what she agrees to do and what she actually does; not so much the same. Just like marriage. just from what I've gathered

Posted November 5, 2015 So a sugar baby is a wife? Sounds about right but in that respect sugar baby at least pretends to be interested in you.
Posted November 5, 2015 Mistress sounds about right. Since we're calling them sugarbaby, maybe it implies a woman that much younger than the sugardaddy.

Even a broke guy can have a mistress but usually only well off guys can afford a sugar baby
Posted November 5, 2015 in historic Britain a mistress was the equivalent of today's sugar baby. she was given her own home, jewelry, an allowance. all of it. I feel the term, in the historic sense anyways, is equivalent to the modern "sugar-baby"
Posted November 5, 2015 So a sugar baby is a wife? Or is she a COSladies escort?? I am so confused.
Posted November 5, 2015 I definitely wouldn't mind being a mistress in the historic sense! when they retire, they even get to keep the house given them!!!
Posted November 5, 2015 I just started to dabble in the SD/SB pool. In my so-far-brief experience, it varies quite a bit. All ages, some experienced SBs, some new, some married, some divorced, etc. Not everyone is looking for an allowance - some just want to be treated better. Because it's more open-ended, there's a lot more personal interaction and communication. That's entertaining by itself. I have come across quite a few students as the article talks about.

Posted November 5, 2015 (edited) On TER, there are several men who have had success on that site with students. They actually enjoy the SB/SD arrangements as it's not just about SEX. One talked about how it made him feel good he was, able to help a YL get through college. The only Real Life Experience of the Kept Woman/Mistress/SDSB is via a friend of mine who did enter into such. The terms where negotiated as suchSD/Gentlemen had to buy her an apartment in New York which would remain with her after they parted ways. SD/Gentlemen was to provide her with all 3 major credit cards with a 5000 monthly spending limit on each card which He was responsible forSD/Gentlemen was to give her 10,000 cash on the first of each monthSD/Gentlemen was responsible for any and all travel expensesSB/Mistress was allowed to date other men(civilian not clients) as long as she didn't entertain in the apartment He bought for Her. SB/Mistress was to be fully available for times Gentlemen requested, usually he flew in on Weekends or flew Her to him which was in another Country or flew Her to Him on his business travels. Always proper notice given so She could have his favorite foods prepared and She was freshly manicured, pedicured, hair done and readyThey also negotiated a termination clause. Upon the end of their relationship, She was to retain full ownership of apartment and was to be given a lump sum payment, the amount I don't know. I also don't know about the credit cards either. Never was there any negotiations on any Sexual Activities, what was expected etc. Obviously He enjoyed Her company as to have an exclusive arrangement and vise versa. This is just one example, there are many other, I just know the particular Lady above. Some may call this marriage, hooker/client relationship, I see this as an exclusive arrangement Edited November 5, 2015 by Heidi the Housewife aka The Maui Muse

In days of yore mistresses were often taken care. If Webster is using courtesan as a synonym I would imagine that at some point there was money involved.

I feel the term, in the historic sense anyways, is equivalent to the modern "sugar-baby"I wrote a paper on this earlier this year for a History class. Researched SEVERAL books regarding Royal Mistresses in Europe. They weren't always entitled to the items unless they were given tittles. Even then, they still had no guarantees. The Queen was a Contract where the Royal Mistresses were like pawns. This is an absolutely fascinating topic to tangent on about; if you want some great reads send me a PM and I can give you a list.

Hopefully for 25K a month plus an apartment she took the time to change the sheets. Or had the maid do it.

Posted November 7, 2015 "There's a very fine line between prostitution and being a sugar baby," I fail to see the distinction. An ASP is an actual job. Not one with a 401k or health insurance, but it is work.A sugar baby just sticks her hand out and makes an occasional public appearance. Although, there is more acting involved.
