Oh c'mon.......

I just saw 3 different Gizzickas on South Broadway alone, last week!

Kidding......although I am curious as to the etymology of the name.

Also.....it's a real class act to change your name after the firestorm you endured.

Damn. If there is another Gizzicka in the whole United States, I will eat my hat. I will never forget that name. Well done. It's not as sexy as "Mona," but twice as memorable.

I'm a firm believer that any name can work if the woman is wonderful. Same principle applies to a band. Toad the Wet Sprocket was a great band, for example, in spite of the name.

IF there is a Gizzickia (which nothing came back on my searches) then there is DEFINITLEY NOT another Gizzicka Dior_thepenisconnoisseur lol I actually searched and searched and searched I specifically chose this name because NO ONE has it.

And that was VERY important to me because I AM NOT trying to "ride off of someone else's name, I'm not an imposter, or anything else people TRIED to make me out to be.

I chose this name because IT IS original

And the original is ALWAYS BETTER than a copy!

I didn't/don't want to come off bitchy or anything BUT this whole name thing is driving me crazy, when the only thing I wanted to do is make my reputation as a great provider. :D

Really? That's all you're going to say? I figured after the little hissy fit you and several others threw about her being "low class" and "tacky", you might say something more.

Love it! Gizzicka (or Gizzy for short?) is definitely unique, and putting Dior on the end establishes it as "yours".

You dealt with that whole situation very well imo. Welcome!

It was me who thinks that ripping off a known provider's first AND last name is lowclass and tacky, and I am entitled to my opinion, just as anyone is.

However, the fact that she stood through the fire and came through with her own identity shows she has real class (at least in my opinion) and is probably a very capable provider who will do well in this crazy industry.

Stood through the fire and came through with her own identity? Let's not forget that she she was unaware of her original namesake (or so she says... I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and believe her). So, her own identity was "Mona Monroe" (how many people across the country are named 'John Smith' or 'William Anderson'? Do they not have their own identities?).

I don't know if it really has anything to do with "class". She was basically "bullied" into giving in and changing her name... she really didn't have much of a choice lest the stigma follow her around and dog her for however long she chooses to participate in this "industry".

Although I do like her new name and I do think it was a wise decision to do so (purely for the sake of her own success in this business) I would've liked to have seen her stick to her proverbial guns and keep the orignal name, if for no other reason than to give a metaphorical 'middle finger' to everyone (including Boink, who echoed your sentiments) who were so critical of her.

By the way... welcome to the board, Gizzicka. The lesson learned from all of this is if you kowtow and conform to everybody else's wishes/demands, then you will make everybody else much happier. And at the end of the day, that is what truly matters... everybody else's happiness... not yours.

Spare me. Continuing to use an already used name would a dumb decision on many different levels.... and continuing to use the name to give the community the "proverbial middle finger" reeks of a life that cannot be lived without drama.

Drama, it seems, might be something that Goggles really enjoys. However, as a provider, living your life neck deep in drama you are only asking for endless problems.

I'm very happy to see that Gizzicka decided to take another route!

First you cut her down, calling her "tacky" and "low class", then you help her back to her feet and give her a nice 'pat on the back' by voicing approval that she has chosen to take "another path".

Reeks of a life that cannot be lived without drama? One could make the argument that you voicing your opinion in the first place stirred up drama.

Incidentally... several of you had a veritable conniption fit (with you leading the charge) over a total non-issue (i.e her chocie of name), yet I'm the one you accuse of "drama". Go figure.

At any rate... I'll just say agree to disagree and leave it at that. After all, I wouldn't want to receive an infraction for "hijacking the op's post"

...

How about I register as "Giggles Peasano" and start talking smack about all the providers on all the boards? I'm sure you'd be happy with the confusion.

Sure there are many Tom Clancy's in the country, but not too many are in the same, reviewed, profession.

Yes, I was also one who complained about the identity theft (even if unintentional) and laud Gizzicka's grit for pushing through, recognizing her mistake, and making adjustments. Hopefully, the new name will become associated with a collection of good reviews and establish her as a quality provider.

Good luck, Gizzy! Welcome to our little community.

I could not agree more!! Which is why as one of the original bitchers, I extended a sincere welcome. And if the old Hollywood theory "there is no such thing as bad publicity" holds in this industry boy did she get a lot of good advertising!

Really do wish you well here and in life in general, Gizzicka!!

If you changed it to Giggles Paesano we would know it's suspicious because it's Goggles. :P The problem with that statement is that she did none of those things so what purpose does that statement serve? Obvious statement is obvious, if someone stole my namesake to use maliciously then of course I would be upset.

The chick is obviously new and learning her way, she didn't choose a name and come in and start talking smack everyone else smacked her down. Not every girl is armed with the knowledge and the resources, learning about TOB, P411, Escort Boards, ECCIE, TER, TNA all of those things come after you get started.

I agree with the sentiment that a lot of the replies she received were lacking in tact and she should have stuck to her guns and given the metaphorical FU. If we are to scratch off the names of every retired provider or every name that has been changed it would be impossible to pick a name but that's not the issue. The issue is how folks felt about the original Mona, would the "community" defend all ladies names equally? My guess is probably not. There is nothing wrong with with holding a provider in such high esteem but it's not fair to let that feeling affect how we react to others.

Actually, yes it is the issue. The main point of this board and reviews is to give guys some idea at least as to whether they are seeing a legit provider that is likely to be and offer approximately what they want. If it is open season to use any name you wish, then the reviews, 411's and reputation of every established lady is rendered useless, and it is again a total crap shoot for the guys. If a new lady comes along and calls herself Lucy, no problem, we can figure it out. Kitten - ditto. But if one comes along and calls herself Lucy Kitten, I will again call bullshit. And it has nothing to do with knowing and liking - I have never met you and have never met Mona either. The first time someone comes along and uses a well known name of someone with horrible reviews and reputation, I will buy the accident line. Not the first time this has come up, not sure why it is so hard for some to grasp, and i'm sure will come up again.

My point was that it's wrong to build your business on, or trash, an established reputation, be it provider or client.

Quite honestly, I don't know Mona Monroe other then her "board persona". Same as I know any other of the people who frequent TOB.

However, I am well aware of the nightmare that the TOB moderators and I would have to deal with due to the name confusion. Which is where my irritation stemmed from.

So yes, I am irritated whenever someone comes along and claims the same name. It's a headache when it's just Ashley, but it's an even bigger headache when it's "Ashley Anderson", from an administrative perspective.

Also, there are PLENTY of providers who come bopping along, creating a same or similar name solely for the purpose of taking over a retired providers' reviews. Which is a whole other mess to unravel. I'm not saying that is the case in this situation, but really who knows?
