  1. Question on contacting provider etiquette...

    Bingo!
  2. Question on contacting provider etiquette...

I'm assuming you meant to say "illegal" profession. And yes, I'm well aware of that. But the girls always play the "professional" card when it works to their advantage, so why can't the guys do the same? Besides, it's just human decency.
  3. Roger Ebert's First Time

The Duke is the man... period! I forget, is Roger Ebert the one who had part of his jaw removed due to cancer?
  4. Question on contacting provider etiquette...

There is no reason for you to "defend" yourself, as my response to your initial post was not intended to be an "attack" of any kind. I was merely voicing my own opinion on the matter and nothing more. Although I might not necessarily agree with you on certain points (or vice versa) that doesn't mean your view is any less valid than mine or anybody elses. On that note... of course entitlement about feeling that a response is deserved becomes a problem if the client was "weird or rude in the first or second contact". That clearly goes without saying. But I was talking about a provider being too "uppity" for some arbitrary reason to feel that the lowly (sarcasm) client is deserving of a response. As far as the customer always being right ethos... I think it is an important policy to recognize and adhere to (in this or any business) as long as that customer is polite and respectful. If I go to a restaurant and order a meal, but the waiter/waitress screws up my order, I'm not going to be a jerk and make a federal case about it, but I am going to (politely and tactfully) bring the mix-up to his/her attention and I expect it to be rectified accordingly. No harm, no foul. When providing a service, a company or individual is (as far as I'm concerned) obligated to provide a certain level of quality to ensure customer satisfaction... from the moment that initial contact has been established to the conclusion of business. Again, this is all predicated upon the customer being polite and respectful...which going back to the OP's specific situation, it seems that he was.
  5. Question on contacting provider etiquette...

I could be totally off the mark here, but my interpretation of "throwing around reviewer status" is that the provider, for whatever reason, may have an aversion to seeing someone who has a significant presence on boards such as this one and has reviewed many providers in the past. Now the reason for such an aversion is beyond me. I guess only the individual provider can really say for sure. Perhaps for security/privacy reasons? Perhaps it's the (perceived) mentality/attitude of some of the more "experienced" johns/reviewers? I dunno... I'm just spitballin' here.
  6. Any info on Skyler in COS?

    3 AVN awards?! Yeah right!
  7. Age aint nothin' but a number... or is it?

LOL! Which only reinforces what I said earlier... a lie is a lie is a lie... PERIOD! If a provider has to lie THAT much (or at all) to gain or keep clientele, then something is wrong. If she has to lie about her age, then maybe she's too old to be in this business and needs to consider "hanging it up". Unless, of course, she openly embraces her age and chooses to cater to men who specifically like older women. If she has to lie about her body type and or use fake/doctored photos, then she needs to either get her butt to a gym, find another line of work or embrace the fact that she is "curvy", "voluptuous", "big boned", "thick", or whatever and focus on the men that prefer that body type. What would happen to any legitimate professional or business that lied about the goods/services they provide? Why should this "business" be any different? Everybody lies... there's no denying it and it's never going to change. But if you're gonna lie, then you better be darn convincing or else you deserve to get called out for it.
  8. Question on contacting provider etiquette...

I wouldn't describe that as "entitlement". I think the client DOES deserve to have you write him back (unless, of course, he has violated some rule/guideline that was clearly stated beforehand) but to just straight up ignore him for some other reason just aint cool at all. If I contact a provider, be it text, phone call or email, and I am courteous and respectful, then yes... I expect (and deserve) a response. It's just common courtesy. Not just in this profession, but in ANY profession.
  9. Question on contacting provider etiquette...

Although I've "lurked" around this board for many years, I've only seen a small handful of providers. Therefore, I still consider myself to be a "newbie". With that being said, I've also had experiences very similar to what you're describing... I think many "johns" probably have at some point. You didn't do anything wrong and I don't think you needed to apologize (you have nothing to apologize for). My advice... don't try to get inside the head of a hooker and figure her out. There are a lot of hookers out there that are just straight up batsh*t crazy. Chances are you'll never know why they don't respond or why they sometimes say the weird cryptic things that they do. So don't lose any sleep over it. Frankly, it sounds like you probably dodged a bullet. Just move on... there are plenty of ladies to choose from. Hookers always talk about how this is a "business", yet many of them totally lack professionalism. They always expect their clients to be courteous, professional, respectful... yada, yada, yada... but too often it seems to be a one-way street. If they aren't going to show you the same courtesy and respect that you show them, then you're better off taking your business elsewhere.
  10. 411 on Winnie..

....and it never ceases to amuse me whenever an ad says "My pictures are real". Well... umm... of course they are "real". It's just that they happen to be of someone else.
  11. 411 on Winnie..

I think johns are either incredibly gullible or just in a state of denial when it comes to some of the providers' pictures. In fact, I said almost this exact same statement in another thread: http://www.theotherboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38517 I've encountered ads where the picture is clearly NOT the girl in the ad, yet johns who claim to have seen the girl in question assert that they are. I'm just going to say that I think the OP is correct in his suspicion.
  12. Age aint nothin' but a number... or is it?

Now Barbi, snookums... I never said that "johns" don't lie. In fact, I think I said that they do... just not as much as hookers. A statement which I still stand by. Hookers still stand way much more to gain (or lose) and therefore lie up the wazoo (and yes, I was/am serious with that comment). Lying about a hooker, giving her a bad review just because he "likes her and does not wish to share her with anybody else" is funny to me. One cannot deny how delightfully ironic it is. That's like a business executive firing his secretary just so he can date her. I'm sure it does happen, I'm just sayin' it's "amusing" (for lack of a better word) in its irony. The deliberately malicious reviews in which he "sets out to try to single handedly destroy her reputation and business with his untruthful efforts." more often than not become revealed for what they really are. I just wish that was also the case for the reviews in which he puts an overwhelmingly positive spin on a hooker's repuation/business with his lies. Those are the ones that need to be revealed. Have a splendid sleep and a harmonious morning.
  13. Age aint nothin' but a number... or is it?

Yes, I think a government oversight committee is a fantastic idea! In fact, I'm going to write my congressman about it first thing tomorrow morning! I can't believe I didn't think of that myself. Now yer using the ol' noodle... bravo. Yes, I am well aware that everyone lies. I've already stated in a previous post on this thread that I don't trust hookers farther than I can throw them. And yes, I'm sure that johns do lie as well. However, I don't agree that they lie more than hookers do. Why would a john lie more than a hooker? I can see why hookers lie (although I don't condone it)... they stand to gain from their lies. But johns (for the most part) don't benefit from lying... unless they happen to be in cahoots with a hooker (which I also touched upon in another post on another thread). Otherwise, why would they lie? I agree that the accuracy of reviews are spotty at best (yet ANOTHER statement I've made in another post) but I think the inaccuracies and falsehoods of reviews are attributed more to the johns seeing hookers through "rose colored glasses" as opposed to outright deliberate lying. If you have such a cynical view of the "system" then why are you even on here at all? From your point of view, 99.99999% of everything discussed in any of these threads (from hookers and johns alike) is a total lie. The reviews are a lie. The hookers are lying. the johns are lying. So why even come here at all? And why bother posting to any of the threads for that matter... anything you say is a lie too, since you're a john, right? K... I'm getting off this merry-go-round. I'm gettin' dizzy... and I just ate a big breakfast.
  14. How to only see girls that are fantastic in rating?

Very good point and well stated.
  15. Age aint nothin' but a number... or is it?

Why do you care? Do you wanna come to the wedding reception? Judging by many of the responses on this thread, I'd say that I'm not the only one who finds it "important". Sure, everbody lies. So let's all just be content with it and say/do absolutely nothing about it at all... ever. Your statement is rather glib. So you're saying that since both hookers and johns lie, that somehow makes everything okay and we should all just accept it and prance along on our merry way? One hand washes the other, right? Well... that will certainly eliminate all the needless threads about fake ads, fake pics, fake names, etc. from now on.
