Posted September 14, 2012 Good question 2big! You seem to have greta taste in shows. Without your suggestion I would never have found Downton Abbey which is now one of my favorite shows.

Posted September 15, 2012 would it be possible to allow one thread in the general discussion forum devoted to the discussion of tv shows????? Keep in mind that some may want to discuss "Gunsmoke" "Dukes of Hazzard" "Miami Vice" "Bosom Buddies" "Eight is enough" "Star Trek" "Dr Who" "Ren and Stimpy" and on and on. Are you ready for that free-for-all?

Are you ready for that free-for-all? He makes a great point! The moment "Fantasy Island" and "Love Boat" are dredged up, I won't be able to get the gun in my mouth fast enough. I hereby apologize for starting the "Breaking Bad" thread the other day. It'll never happen again.
Posted September 16, 2012 Keep in mind that some may want to discuss "Gunsmoke" "Dukes of Hazzard" "Miami Vice" "Bosom Buddies" "Eight is enough" "Star Trek" "Dr Who" "Ren and Stimpy" and on and on. Are you ready for that free-for-all? People can discuss whatever tv show they want to discuss. Thread is designed to draw attention to shows that folks missed but might still enjoy. Let me check with the mods. Did you?

Posted September 17, 2012 I do not own a tv, so it matters not to me. If I want a time suck -youtube, all the mauy varied newsites does it for me.
Posted September 17, 2012 I would prefer not to see this board stray from it' main purpose. What' s next, threads on politics? How about restaurant or car reviews? There are plenty of boards devoted to tv shows, I don' t care to know what 2big is watching.

Posted September 19, 2012 Maybe you should try going outside once and a while... For realsies..... lol PS: I think I am going to set up a few off-topic boards, but the issue is just getting the time to do it. If you could be kind enough to remind me via email in a couple of weeks, if I haven't gotten to it, I would appreciate it!

Posted September 20, 2012 My all time favorite TV shows: Barney Miller All In The Family Gunsmoke Rome Doesn't seem to be any quality shows these days, anywhere near the oldies. I've shut off my satellite and now just get the 5 or so free over the air digital channels. All the more time to spend on the TOB, I guess.
Posted September 20, 2012 I do not own a tv, so it matters not to me. If I want a time suck -youtube, all the mauy varied newsites does it for me. No TV, that would be great. I've been wanting to get rid of it for years but that would get me divorced faster than if my SO find out about ths hobby. I watch Monday night football and the Broncos games and that's pretty much it. Her favorite show is Say yes to the dress... hmm wonder if I should be worried about that?

Complex Revolution I haven't heard of any of those shows - I guess I need to turn on my TV every once in awhile to something other than the music channels
Posted September 20, 2012 Ok, here's an off the cuff tv program post at least slightly related to the board purpose: How is watching Guy Fieri stuff his pie hole on the food network any different than watching <insert favorite porn actress here> have her pie hole stuffed by some guy on the porn channel? Both are examples of watching somebody else do something pleasurable. Both events are far more enjoyable when I get to do them myself. And both events are much more expensive to experience than to watch. TV, other than (perhaps) sporting events, is a poor substitute for real life. And if you need to be told a story....read a book.
Posted September 21, 2012 Shows I'm currently watching Forgot to mention: The Bletchley Circle Titanic: Blood and Steel Should also mention the great British TV series "Blackout" with the same actor who was on the just as good British show "The Shadowline".
Posted September 21, 2012 Many in my circle refer to watching T.V. as "drinking the Kool-Aid"! Most of it is full of propaganda and government cointelpro, and those who defend watching say they are not being affected, which is hardly the case. When you watch T.V. it changes your thought process entirely, and eliminates logical thought, and critical analysis. Sorry to point out the not so obvious to all you T.V. fans in fantasy land, but there are studies, and all right at your fingertips.

Posted September 21, 2012 Who said anything about watching television? I haven't owned a tv set since 2006. Didn't the OP request a thread "devoted to discussion of tv shows", or something to that effect?
