Scammer Alert (Ladies Beware) Cash App/Venmo/Paypal

54 posts in this topic

I know i'm not allowed to post details here but ladies beware there is a gentlemen asking for multi hour outcalls downtown to his great loft he will pay via paypal/venmo or cash app then cancel the transactions or report them as fraud and he's going for it every day.  It will initially show as sent or received but will never process through.  I tried to do the instant transfer and it said they transaction could not be completed. I haven't even been active and he has been contacting me every week using different #'s I went and when none of it worked I left but had a friend fall victim to it last night :-(

It's shocking these companies haven't caught on to his scamming if he's doing it every time, and banned his accounts. How many times can you claim fraud before drawing suspicion to yourself? Thanks for sharing the info. 💙

To the OP and any other lady this has happened to: I am very sorry you were robbed, and some could argue raped.  It is a shame there are total assholes in the world.  That said, with PayPal for sure and others perhaps, if enough assholes pull this and PP becomes suspicious of your account (they think you are using for banned activities which includes escorting) they can and will freeze your whole account.  One more time, I understand the convenience, etc. but I'm sorry ...... cash is king, especially up front. (gotta go out to car and get my wallet, follow me to the atm/bank, etc. and numerous other bs if not gotten up front).  I try very hard to avoid ever telling a lady how to run her business, but the cash thing is an exception - gotta be said.  Sucks to have to go to lengths to protect yourself ..... but if you do not, who is going to?

No surprise if the nature of his source of income/job/business involves a lot of online transactions that have nothing to do with escorts.  Couple dozen transactions per day with only a handful per week disputed ......... good to go.  The lady runs a much higher risk of getting looked at and hammered by the pay app, PP etc.

I have a cashapp, but I've only taken cash for appts. I'm curiously why local guys would choose cashapp/venmo/paypal as opposed to stopping by the ATM and bringing cash? I know for longer visits ladies require deposits, but why are local guys using this to pay for their entire sessions? I've had TOB guys request this, maybe these guys can shed some light on why they prefer it?

I'm thinking because they have something to hide. Move money around etc. hiding accounts from their SO that might notice a withdraw from the "home" account. Even though all of them are "single" just looking to hook up after a dry spell.

I'm 110% with Gr8owl, cash is KING! Please protect yourselves and only take cash...Oh, by the way, can you take an out of state third party check? I promise it won't bounce! HAHAHA, just as bad as the other forms of payment, I'm sure you know... just trying to be funny here.

Cash is KING! Every time!

I cash app my family all over the country. It shows up on my account just like a withdraw from an ATM shows up on my acct. I cash app because I cannot get them the money in person. If a client is visiting a provider, obviously he can hand her the cash in person. I don't see how a client can hide it from his SO. Maybe I'm missing something? I still have no understanding as to why a local gent would prefer to use this as a form of payment.  I'm hoping some of the gents here who DO prefer these methods over cash can shed some light???

The bad thing is this:

Most banks don't worry about fraud until the amount goes beyond 400 bucks per account. I know because I just went through this. The amount?? 394 dollars. This is the third time it's happened to me in a calendar year and it's pissing me off to no end! I get a call from my bank "there seems to be suspicious charges to your account" 15 Uber charges in the Bronx and another 5 charges in Florida? Short story here, I get my card turned off for a week, I get a new card and a month later it starts all over again. It's not like I'm banking with the Marx Brothers, it's a very well known bank, I have a chip card and I'm more qaware than most people for loing out for card skimmers and the like. I've been caught in the Target, Home Depot and Equifax scams. I'm thinking it's why I'm targeted so often?

This is what I'm talking about right here. It shows up in your account that anyone in his family (SO) might see.

Okay, let me see if I have this right. You're saying they have a separate account, that their SO does not know about, so they can hide what they're doing. Why then is it an issue to pull money out of the ATM from the account their partner knows nothing about? I guess I'm not seeing it. 😔

Signing out. I'm confused still...

When married I always found it easier to hide cash.

I had another hobby which was cash intensive (antiques).  I had a budget for this hobby and withdrew cash on a regular basis.  With each transaction a few bucks slid to a different pocket of my wallet.  When I had enough in that pocket it was playtime

I think I’m the only person here that ever says they prefer it over cash. For me it’s one less step and I don’t bank here so beyond this I don’t ever pull cash. Well not ever but practically never. I can either do it from my computer or my phone; pay on the fly as needed And keep it moving. It’s also such an integrated part of my life to use transfers like this that it’s second nature. And I don’t have to do that fun dance of setting the donation [insert where every individual lady likes to have it set or received]. Shit is just a clean transaction. It’s funny because so many talk about what happens if the providers phone gets confiscated and they suddenly have a random username with a transaction amount. For me I’m far more concerned with what happens if I get pulled over with several hundred in my pocket in small denominations. Black with a stack of cash doesn’t always bode well. ;)

lastly I don’t have anything to hide from a spouse so the secrecy in moving funds isn’t an issue. It all just boils down to convenience. And on one very embarrassing occasion necessity since I forgot a new PIN after getting a new debit card replacing an expired one.

I fully understand why people prefer to use cash though I do admittedly question how transactions are canceled and how they know it’s the wife doing it. I’ve been using PayPal for years, close to a decade give or take, and while I’ve had to do a handful of disputes -all of which were for normal civilian purchases so nothing related to this- it’s never instantaneous or one sided. PayPal Friends and Family transactions are final and lack the dispute protection. Meaning if that option is used there’s no reversal. Business transactions literally follow this flow:

1.) I make a claim (after its been processed by my bank) with proof if I can provide it

2.) PayPal opens a ticket and asks how I want to proceed; money back or the product

3.) they reach out to the vendor to find out what’s going on

4.) if the vendor responds they’ll then essentially work to get everything resolved. If they don’t I get my money back.

So yeah, it’s not an instant refund. A couple of months ago there was a data breach a product site and my account got caught in. About $1500 worth of purchases were made with my PayPal account. I could prove it wasn’t me but still had to follow the same flow and while I’d have loved to have gotten my money back immediately they still did the same routine.

cash is king - trail ends at an atm - or if you are better than that just save a bit here and there till you have your 'dating' money - done - end of trail...

Thanks @JoDoe27 for giving us some insight since it's a preference of yours. You are not the only client who prefers paying by a 3rd party app. I get those requests, although I decline. Even though its your preference, I'm sure if there's a lady you really want to see that's cash only, you'll make it happen. More and more providers and clients are becoming comfortable using 3rd party apps for what sounds like is the simple convenience of them. I mainly see it for deposits. There are pros and cons for both cash and other forms of payment. There are all kinds of ways theft happens with cash as well. I see it everyday on Twitter. I think like with everything else, if its a mutual agreement between both parties it's fine, and when any kind of theft happens, get the msg out to the ladies. I agree with most others though CASH is KING! 🤑🤑🤑

Oh yeah of course. I don’t push it nor do I specifically seek it out. And depending I might just simply ask if it’s not apparent they do and for those that do I make note of it. But yeah, if it’s someone I want to see and cash is the key then cash it is without question or hesitation. So far I’ve yet to have issue with digital transactions.

No, not publicly. It would be nice if us ladies could have the info behind the scenes (especially since she says there are multiple aliases used).😒 I hope that other ladies are not affected negatively.

Ive used card a few times and for the same reason you would use a credit card for anything else... You don't HAVE the cash in the bank but you have the funds available on your credit card.......

Can you link a cashapp/venmo/paypal to a credit card?  I thought it was only to a bank account/ debit card. I'm learning stuff here.

Yes, you can add a credit card in PayPal and Venmo. There’s a fee if you use a credit card. And notice I’m saying credit card and not debit card. You can add a debit card but there’s no fee. PayPal and Venmo don’t really care what you link. I don’t use cash app so can’t say there.

I have used my credit through venmo with one lady.... I've seen her a number of times and payed with card in person and one time she needed the money in advance for something so she had me use venmo (it's the only time I've actually used the app) and it still went through the same as it normally does in person
