P411 ad board

43 posts in this topic

I just clicked on the p411 ad board, and noticed that it has been removed. Do many of you use this ad board? I tend to use it from time to time. Sorry if this has already been brought up.

I used it more than I used EB. I felt safer there.

Maybe the Denver area ECCIE board will pick up now.

Sorry to hear that it has been removed. I also used it since I prefer P411 providers. Or is that statement redundant....

I seldom used the ad board on P411.

I concentrated my efforts searching the members(provider) directory looking for someone who met my criteria. Then I would contact them through P411 and begin a dialogue which usually led to an appointment. There have been instances where our schedules did not mesh. (On the other hand, at least two of my appointments this past winter were with gals I had initially contacted several years ago.) Since I'm not usually looking for 'right now', or even today, this works for me. If you're into instant gratification or unable to plan ahead, not so much.

What I liked about the ad board, you knew that the lady was going to be around for that time at least.

Yes, especially for visiting providers. The visitors on EB tend to glob at the bottom and stay there for weeks. Sometimes with no schedule listed, I don't know if they are even still in town.

A few months ago the "allowed terms" were changed to reflect the laws in Canada changing. There were NUMEROUS postings to the Providers that they needed to adhere to the new standards or face some sort of punishment. P411 tried working with the Providers who were responsible and played by the rules but in the end there were still too many who did not respect the new changes. So in the end the P411 Ad Boards have been removed.

This saddens me greatly for it was a great research tool for travel. :(

Not every location has the awesome capabilities like TOB/EB.

I liked it for visitors too - especially since verification for EB would delay their ads there.

Each Provider has a Calendar on their P411 profile. Check that. Prebook..send an appt request with notes on not only when you wish to meet..but other options to meet if the first choice does not work out. and all will be fine.

Agree, it was great for business travel for men too to see who has been advertising recently. I'm disappointed it's gone, but I know they have their reasons!

The day after my account was approved I booked based on an ad there. lol Oh well. I appreciate Justina kind of explaining it. That makes sense now.

I don't question for a minute that you don't know the reason behind the P411 AD Board discontinuation, Justina, but the explanation they post when you try to access it sure reads like it was just a non-profitable pain in the ass for them. I guess I always assumed there was a fee for each ad, and I would have thought that fee would be sufficient to justify their effort. In any event, I'm sorry it's gone. I used to refer to it, and I know of at least one provider that would post there and avoid EB.

For a touring provider such as myself I'm sad that the board is down as well. It was a great way to get my monthly schedule out and include it in all the areas I work in. Now for somebody trying to get pre-booked appointments it's going to be much harder, and now my advertising $ will have to be spent elsewhere.

I think with the lack of adhering to standards it was a "pain in the ass to them". And yes, there was a "fee" on our end: Points. We could either purchase them ($$$) or earn them through OKAYs and such.

I figure at some point Oxy may chime in on this thread too with some more info. :)

Considering that almost all of the appointments I've had for the past couple of years were setup from seeing an ad on p411, it is going to be really difficult to justify renewing my membership.

I'm definitely curious how this works out, as I have been contemplating becoming a member recently. I'm sure there are still advantages to the service, but sounds like with the loss of the board and spare time activities its becoming less appealing.

Just to be clear - what is missing is the ad board. The only additional information it provided was schedule data and possibly special rates. Even if you clicked on one of the ads, you still had to go through her member's page (where her detailed information resides) to book an appointment.

Thanks for clarifying.

The Ad Board was a little used area of the site that took you to an Ad that took you to a providers' main Listing - which is still on the site, just as they always were.

well, it's easy for you to minimize it, but as an actual user of that feature it is disappointing to see it removed. what app these days removes features while continuing to increase in cost? p411 is going in the wrong direction.

Would you rather ad board remained (for a time) while the unruly create legal problems for the owners & host, causing the board to be shut down completely?

If you want to complain to someone -

  • Complain to the Canadian government who changed the rules
  • Complain to the providers who failed to comply with the new rules
  • Complain to the 'puritans' who want to stamp out prostitution
  • Complain to the media who twist facts to confuse consenting adults with slaves.

no. i'd rather they deal with the unruly so the ruly can use the features. :D

obviously, my complaining to any of those entities will do nothing.

i'm voicing my opinion (what you call complaining) because i've paid upfront for multiple years of p411 and it keeps getting worse. removing the activities and now this change makes me wish i hadn't "invested" in something that is becoming less useful instead of better. i'm sure it's better for the owners, but not for this customer.

Yeah. P411 is becoming the absolute worst client verification site, except for all the rest.

While I lament the loss of the ad boards, which I used frequently, I can think of no other resource that allows me to to get screened so quickly. I recently called a new (to me), well reviewed provider from EB at 10:15 AM. Flashed her my numerous oks via P411. No further questions asked and we were going at it like frenzied weasels by 11 AM. Had a great time!

Upon retrospect, the above experience is the real reason I have P411. As long as I can keep repeating it, I'll keep my membership.

Over the years (I've been a member since inception) I have watched P411 improve. It has expanded features, services, information, provider list & geographic coverage. They have, in the past, been responsive to bugs and requests for new features.

The recent changes (admitted degradations in service) have been the result of changes in the legal environment where the service is owned/hosted. Not exactly something which P411 controls. Neither do you or I. Still, I'm glad P411 resides in that environment because it makes it more difficult for US LE to access their records.

Perhaps you'd rather P411 suspend/ban the unruly, thus decreasing the pool of providers which would also reduce the utility of their services.

P411 can spend their resources editing inappropriate posts, or they can spend those same resources developing new features (like the ad board which didn't exist a few years ago) and fending off DOS attacks.

I've heard that dealing with a collective of escorts is a lot like herding cats.

I've had similar experiences with P411 providing my references. The real value is when you flash your P411 OKays in {fill in the blank} where folks have no idea about TOB or who you are. It is also a great resource for finding reputable providers in {fill in the blank}.

My guess would be 10 to 15% of the providers were too stupid, or not willing (or a better bet both) to follow the rules. it has been my experience about 1 in 10 don't give a shit about anything but themselves. obviously for these few the rules do not apply. if you are looking to place some blame, these few would be a great place to start.

Due to the new laws in Canada, P411 is unable to allow the advertisement of sexual services. Monitoring the Ad Board has proven impossible from a management standpoint, regardless of Justina's proof that cats can be herded (good one girl! lol). We cannot put the entire site at risk because the actions of a few.

The good news is that now that I'm not needing to spend my days arguing with providers about whether "sliding my hot, wet, nude body against yours" describes a sexual activity or not, I can focus on what I love to do. Which is thinking up and implementing features to improve the site.

As soon as the dust settles around here, we're going to get to work on creating an Available Now feature. So stayed tuned..... and I'm really sorry about the recent changes. They suck, but our hands are tied.

Someone got their panties in a twist? Why look to assign any blame? If they were spending so much time monitoring ad boards it obviously wasn't just a few. No offense to P411 or Gina but with the law changes in Canada the only direction for the ad boards to go was the wrong direction.

I do admit though that watching some of these ladies who couldn't quite grasp why there was a change in rules was quite fun. Although despite all the entitled attitudes this was more than likely bound to happen. Anyone who payed attention could have seen this coming. Sometimes it's important to go beyond our community and see what else is going on and how it might affect us. These law changes didn't happen yesterday and girls and guys could have done a better job at predicting some of the possible changes that might occur on P411.

That's impressive you can accurately predict an event after it happens. I think that quality would make you a better newscaster than a clairvoyant.
