What happens if LE catches you?

29 posts in this topic

I know it varies from city to city but what should we typically expect on the off chance that someone with this hobby gets caught by the law? What options do we have?

The advice given here in the past on being caught is "say nothing." Literally become a mute. However, it seems that does not answer your question on what to "expect." I expect you would soil your pants, but I'll be interested to hear the responses beyond that.

From what I've been told, they tie the guy to a chair. Then, his SO is allowed to spend 15 minutes in the room alone with him......and a rusty tin can lid.

Got caught in a sting in Denver some 20 yrs ago. Cop issued me a ticket and I had to go to court later on where I plead guilty and paid about $65. Embarrassing part for me was listening to the snickering from the court audience when my charge was read to the judge.

Cop didn't ask me anything other than my license so "going mute" was moot.

Don't know how much has changed and don't really want to know. Heard about the John School being signed into law, but not much about it since.

well, you will be shocked, shocked I say then,

the cops will ask what are you doing?

Take you pic, give you a ticket may tow your motor scooter and then give you a kick in the pants and send you on your way.

Try explaining to you SO where your car is at.

Report to court pled guilty pay a fine not sure about the John School

and then call a hoe.

In a nut shell.

The only way a John like me could get caught is if the escort was either a cop or participating in a sting. The way to avoid this is to visit only ladies with lots of reviews and P411 approval. If cops were to bust into a room and surprise both of us (John and escort), there were no laws broken, to the extent that they find money, it was paid by mutual agreement for time and companionship, and the activities are simply those of two consenting adults. If no money is found, you are just having a nooner with your girlfriend and that is not against the law either.

" A john like you" that would imply that you are special , because you go with P411 and well reviews ladies only. So, as we have learned the last 2-3 months that is a risk hoes and johns alike take everyday. P411 well reviewed or not....

So you go on with your special self BADBOY LOL

These are the only things you should EVER say to a police officer:

1. "My name is (your first and last name only)". (You should not provide an address, phone number, date of birth, or any other identifying information, and, unless you were caught IN or AT your vehicle, you should not show your driver's license.)

2. "I have no comment and hereby invoke my 5th Amendment right to remain silent. Any further questions must be directed to my legal representation." Also "I take the 5th" should be your answer to every question. For example:

"What is your address?"

"I take the 5th"

"Do you have identification on you?"

"I take the 5th"

"Are you aware why we are talking to you?"

"I take the 5th"

"Don't you think this would go easier for you if you just cooperated?"

"I take the 5th"

and so on. Keep in mind that this is to protect YOU. If, for example, the officer asks if you have identification, and you say yes, he can compel you to show it, and refusing to show it can be illegal. If the officer asks if you have identification, and you say no, and later you are arrested, and during the booking search they find your identification, you will be charged with lying to an officer. So, the right answer is "I take the 5th". This way, you neither need to show your ID nor falsely deny having one.

3. SAY NOTHING ELSE. AT ALL. AT ALL AT ALL. Don't say anything about how you got there, where you parked, or anything else. If you go to jail and your car gets towed, you may owe a few hundred or even thousands of dollars in impound fees to get it back, but it's better than losing your car entirely because Denver seized it because it was used to solicit prostitution.

Please watch this video, or at least the first half of it. It is important.

For the Johns:

The measure would add a fine of $5,000 to $10,000 to the crimes, which in Colorado are petty offenses. On the scale of offenses, it ranks below misdemeanors.

The fine would be on top of the cost of "john school." If the defendant failed to finish the class, add on $2,000 to $5,000.

I have heard, they require a HIV test. And they In form your wife.

In some cases, a vehicle, a home used to engage in prostitution will be seized. Often, the local media publishes photos and details of arrests. Risking a criminal conviction in an attempt to keep an arrest quiet is often foolhardy. You may plead guilty, only to find the disposition of your case written up or listed in the newspaper. Or you may be left with a charge on your criminal record that will be virtually impossible to hide from anyone with a computer. Charges of prostitution or solicitation will also often impact your ability to hold certain jobs or even rent an apartment in some complexes or neighborhoods.

Such arrests are often the result of a sting operation in response to complaints about prostitution from residents in the neighborhood. Such cases can lead to entrapment or other issues, which are best left to an experienced Denver criminal defense lawyers. Frequently, allegations of prostitution or solicitation do not make for strong cases, particularly when the arrested parties exercise their rights to remain silent.

Unfortunately, a defendant is too often eager to attempt to talk his or her way out of trouble and avoid the embarrassment of a prostitution charge. This rarely, if ever, happens. If you are being questioned during a prostitution sting, you are all but certain to be arrested. Your best bet is to remain silent and wait to speak to your attorney. The best evidence against a defendant is too often his or her own statements upon arrest.

You have the right to remain silent: Use it. And shut the fuck up. Another reason you do not text message. It does speak against you and for you in the eyes of the law.

COLORADO PROSTITUTION LAW AND PENALTIES

Prostitution charge in Denver: Alleges an offer or agreement to engage in sexual conduct for compensation. The charge is a Class 3 misdemeanor, punishable by up to six months in jail and a $750 fine.

Solicitation of prostitution: Propositioning another for sex in exchange for compensation. The charge is a Class 3 misdemeanor, punishable by up to six months in jail and a $750 fine.

Pimping: Class 3 felony punishable by up to 12 years in prison and a $750,000 fine. Any person who knowingly lives on, in whole or in part, compensation made through an act of prostitution.

Tax Evasion: This is something you will need to discuss with a lawyer. The punishment can be up to so many different charges. It all comes down to, how many charges they are charging you with.

Those facing charges of prostitution, or solicitation of prostitution, to consult with an experienced criminal defense attorney in Denver before choosing to plead guilty to the charges.

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong here.

Im sorry I forgot to mention this.....

Escort Licensing:

If you do not have a escort licensing, they will take you to jail.

Huge fines

Escorting ID:

for not having an escorting ID (witch you can obtain if you get a escort license.)

They will take you to jail.

Huge fines

You have the right to remain silent: Use it. And shut the fuck up. Another reason you do not text message. It does speak against you and for you in the eyes of the law. They can go back 180 days without a warrant.

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong here.

YouTube has some great videos on how to handle the Police and how to exercise your rights. Check it out and arm yourself with information.

Use your rights. They were written for you and your freedom.

Expect basically the same as being issued a "fix it" ticket. Basically a bench appearance summons. Show up in court on x date, pay a fine. Have a nice day. That should be 95% of the time.

IF the nice officer asks any questions respond simply with "I invoke my right to remain silent and will only answer questions with my attorney present. Please contact my attorney."

Don't add the part about your attorney if you don't have one AND know his name. You will just sound stupid. And no you don't have a right to a public defender if you can afford to play in this hobby.

And don't invoke your 5th Amendment right because it doesn't apply here. See the part about sounding stupid again.

Don't argue your case; LE doesn't hear legal arguments.

Once you invoke your right to remain silent, REMAIN SILENT. Any responses to questions after that could be considered as a waiver of your Miranda rights.

Here is perfect example:

If you have been arrested before and they have your finger print and mugshot already on file, they will sometimes give you a ticket. Send you on your way.

If you have never been arrested they will take your ass to jail. Depending on what County, City and Sate you get into trouble. Odds are, no matter what you might end up in jail.

Wow, thats very presumptuous and naive. IF the police WANT to charge you, they CAN and WILL. IF they WANT some kind of evidence to exist, it WILL. I ALWAYS assume there is some percentage of risk, although certain behaviors and practices certainly do reduce risks. You can never negate ALL risk.

Go mute. Stay mute. Best advice. Git a lawyer.

Oh yeah, and not only that immediately on release, join one of the political parties, preferably democrat these days and run for office. Seems to be the trend.

If you are caught with an [snip} then democrat , if caught with a transvestite then republican. Be aware, those rules may reverse at any time.

In my past, I've been in contact once or twice with the law for other various things. Sometimes I was alone, sometimes not. It doesn't seem to be common sense but common sense told me to keep my mouth shut. Unfortunately, the times when others were present, they didn't seem to think that was common sense. They incriminated themselves. Dumbasses. The rules to follow are 1. Give them your name. 2. Shut up. 3. Acknowledge you understand your Miranda rights. 4. Plead no contest when applicable. A no contest is easier to explain you were in the wrong place at the wrong time and couldn't prove your innocence. Because let's face it, you are guilty until you can prove otherwise. Kinda like being married!

Gee whiz, girl, lighten up! All I meant by "a John like me" was that I am a regular old customer, not a cop, etc. What I meant was that if neither party to an encounter is a cop or working with the LE, you are very unlikely to get busted, so the ladies need to screen, and the Johns need to screen as well. My method of screening is that if a lady has 10-20 reviews, and is listed on P411, she is pretty unlikely to be a cop. That is all that I meant, not that I am any sort of special.

BTW, I am not a novice on these issues, I am a former criminal defense attorney, and in all of my years, I have never heard of the cops busting down the door on two folks, neither of whom are cooperating with the cops. Why? It is a pain for them to get a search warrant without a sting, which is why they use stings.

How do you avoid a sting if you are "a John like me?" Make sure the lady is not a cop. That's all I meant.

Lighten up a bit here.

I can't imagine this argument every working in any kind of way. I see ads with something like this on BP all the time and it always amazes me that people think it could actually work.

Saying "I only paid for time and companionship", it's the same to me as admitting guilt, and I find it unlikely that they'd see it your way either.
