Looks Like Its Going To Be Up To Us

Several recent threads regarding the shortcomings of the review format have convinced me that we all need to quit whining about the format and moderator's choice of fields and simply be more thorough in our reviews.  No field for appearance, just mention it in the review (emphasizing the positive as well).  No field for age, no real need to mention it if the lady's profile seems reasonable, but if she claims 24 and is definitely 50, just mention it in the review.  Same for the missing height and weight fields: if the profile seems accurate no further effort needed, if it is a few (like 10) years out of date, just mention it in the review. There is a field for "Pictures Accurate" but lots of reviewers list the "Unknown" response - come on you lazy sons of guns, are the pictures accurate or not?  If there are no pictures, a brief description might be in order.  More detail on attitude, etc., are helpful, at least to me.

Also, I really like it when the providers put their responses below a review - sometimes it really clarifies things, so maybe it is up to the ladies to contribute a bit more also.

This is why it's very important to advertise yourself honestly.

Rebuttals are usually for bad reviews. Some will argue every mediocre review they get and some will just let sleeping dogs lie. My guess would be that most of the not so great reviews are from ladies who are not aware of reviews and so are unaware of bad reviews and the ability to refute them. So in that case the onus is on the reviewer to let the provider know that he reviewed.

It has always been up to us to provide the most accurate information for reviews. If there is something that community finds relevant but product doesn't offer than users add the info themselves. As far as accurate pictures and stats, providers aren't totally honest and guys are really bad at judging with any sort of accuracy. That will forever be confusing.

While reviews are helpful they're sometimes too informative. In a business that's all about discretion and varying mileage maybe maybe we should consider reviews that are more helpful less hurtful.

Point of clarification- All Providers are notified of a new review by text or email by TOB

Perhaps "we" could start with the easy things.  Like making sure the "additional links provided by reviewers" contain links to the ACTUAL provider - which right now many clearly don't.  And, oh, I don't know maybe pitch the clearly fake ones by either their pimp (glowing spectacular, photos accurate when obviously stolen, etc.) or the competition or competition's pimp trashing a well reviewed lady with obvious bs - and both first signing in to post review and then ..... poof, not seen again. How about fake review pasted into BP ad.  Harvest the low hanging fruit, then worry about providers having to defend themselves from bs reviews.  Just a thought.

This will always be a work in progress :)

we is appropriate. if the community wants better reviews then it has to be a collective decision and for a system to be totally accepted it has to accepted by providers too right? many providers don't like reviews and doesn't it just make sense to adopt a practice that leaves everyone happy?

I see what you're trying to do but it doesn't work here.

Eloquent post but one that answered my question would have been better.

When was the last time you posted a review? Yeah, I thought so...

It has been sooner than never and more than zero.

You took it out of context so you don't need or deserve an answer. You can simply say you don't agree rather than try to imply something that isn't true. You also ignored a much longer post because you took issue with one word WE.

It's ALWAYS been up to us. It's the whole point. Yeah, that field makes stuff simple. We like simple. But the review only has what YOU put in it. So write what you want to read. Easy peasy.

A MODEST PROPOSAL:

I know that the TOB powers that be are trying to get the review system bugs fixed.

I think we will get there eventually.  But not all reviewers list activities and now they can't list donations.  I also know that there are certain reviewers I have come to depend upon because they give good information in the write-up. But I find most reviews to be worthless.  "Treat her right, she's real hot" is all the info they leave.

If a guy or gal makes a comment I find worthless or valuable in the forum, I can now give "value feedback" to the poster with a "like" or "unlike" vote.

If I go to Amazon, and read a review of a book I am interested in, I can give feedback to the reviewer as to whether his review was helpful or not. I can skip the non helpful reviews and only read those reviews most people found helpful.

If I read a TOB review on a lady I want to see, I'm stuck.  I have poor info in the review.

Why not allow TOB members with provider references  the ability to vote on whether or not a review was helpful or not?  The reviewer would get feedback and hopefully improve the quality of his future reviews.  The provider reference requirement would help provide some legitimacy to the review reviewers.

If it is truly up to us to make the reviews better, give us the tools to properly critique them.

Reviewing the Reviewer:

We looked at this feature closely and ran into issues with vetting a Reviewer, as well mitigating the troll attacks on Reviewers.

Making the References a requirement raises privacy issues, as some reviewers won't want that information made public. There also may be a way to undermine that requirement, which then puts us right back where we started, if not a step behind.

Looking at the Reviewers posts in the forum is another option, however, there are many users that don't post at all and it would not be fair to those users.

There are many metrics that could be used to measure a Reviewers creditability. However, the user should understand how that calculation is made in a very simple fashion. At the end of the day, the majority of the reviews are positive and is the issue you are describing, such an issue, that it require a special addition? We are opening to hearing possible ideas to make that work:)

On Another note, we now display all previous alternative website links in the providers review, as well, provide the reviewer an option to add stat info on the provider (age, hair color, breast size, etc..) Hopefully by the end of this week we will have the DNR list incorporated into the review search area. You will be able to search on the following items:

Does not allow reviews
Does not allow any new reviews
Disabled reviews after receiving a bad review

We appreciate all your feedback and support and will continue to try and improve TOB!:)

We need to add the following options to the search as well remove the duplicates. This should be completed soon...

Caught Self-Reviewing
Caught Self-Reviewing Multiple Times

We also planned to redo the search for all areas integrating (ads, profiles, reviews and the forum) unfortunately the forum software and the way the rest of the site is coded present significant challenges better undertaken in a redesign. We still will make tweaks along the way based on the great feedback the TOB community provides:)

The more thorough the review, the more credence it has.  I'm not saying we need mini-porn novels - but details of service are more helpful than merely saying "Full Service."  If I don't see that specific services are listed, I generally move on to the next.

Some providers and or reviewers are not comfortable listing out all the details. It is not best to have a few details from a number of users then a detailed novel from 1 or 2?

We agree that submitting a review saying "she was great" or "...had a great time!" Serves no benefit and those will be denied.

At the end of the day it is up to the reviewer to give a helpful review
