rough weekend vent

17 posts in this topic

I don't think this stuff qualifies for a review, but I thought I'd just vent a minute.

On Thursday, I prebooked a provider for Friday. I'd hoped for an afternoon slot, but she preferred late evening, so I accepted that. I was looking forward to it since her reviews and ad together showed she had a lot of what I was looking for. About midday on Friday, she sent me a message letting me know she had a family emergency and had to cancel. Fair enough, I guess. Shit happens, right? Gotta be there for family. She was apologetic, and I wished the best to her and her family.

Fast forward to Saturday. Tried to book a different provider for the afternoon, but late night again worked better for her. She's about 45 min from me, but again, reviews and the ad looked like a good match. Booked the appointment a good 5 hours out, and as I'm getting ready to leave to head there I sent a message to confirm directions. She replies with saying she couldn't do the appointment, try again tomorrow. Not even an "I'm sorry". Wasted my whole evening.

Both these providers are well established and highly reviewed (over 100 between them, and only 1 average). So I'm 0-2 with respected, 'sure thing' providers. ugh. Anyone else want to rant?

That sucks man, sorry to hear that........but be sure to leave a review on both of them so others might know what to expect (established or not)........and don't sweat it, their loss, have yourself fun elsewhere and let someone else make that money.

I respectfully disagree. The OP had a bad run, and he's definitely earned his "Captain Blueballs Badge," but these were not NCNS. The ladies did give him notification.

I've booked ladies and then had them cancel, one within 30 minutes of the date while I was on my way. It was frustrating at the time. Found out later she was coming down with the flu, was going to tough it out, and then decided not to. Was glad she didn't. I've also had them cancel when (I presume) one of their dependable regulars called on short notice. That sucks, but I suspect that is one of the perks of being a regular.

This is where flexibility along with the top ten (most recent posts) on escortboards or the available now list on P411 comes in handy. I tend to go for petite, short-haired blondes, but earlier this year had one cancel on me about 90 minutes beforehand. I had the time, the money, and the need, and a search of EB revealed an older blonde MILF, one I would not have consided. I had her booked in 15 minutes and less than an hour later I had an amazing session with a lady I will be returning to.

I know it seems unfair that a lot of the ladies have cancellation policies that, under the circumstances you experienced would result in charges. But they get far more cancellations and NCNSs than we do.

Plus one with^^^^

I know it sucks but i have had to reschedule on short notice also. I had to cancel once on my way to an appointment due to a blue hair not seeing me or my Harley next to her

I am sorry but if two "well known" providers cancelled at the last minute then why don't you write a review? NCNS are absolutely ridiculous and a HUGE waste of time on both ends. Just my 2 cents..

I do not think these 2 experiences will qualify for a review. They were not a NCNS.

You will become more cynical the longer you stay around here. Unfortunately, your experience is pretty typical. The situations you mention are one of the reasons why I tend to repeat visiting providers that are reliable and I enjoy their company.

I tend to agree. They are not reviewable by TOB review rules but it's still a crappy last minute cancellation. I think lots of guys might shy away from some "well known" providers if it was known that these ladies were likely to flake out last minute.

Rather than rant, I'll make three suggestions.

1) You had plenty of time with both cancellations to schedule other providers, but you didn't. You wanted to see those specific girls, and not whoever was available. That can cause scheduling difficulties, and requires much patience.

2) I don't know if you did, but if you try to schedule providers outside their normal hours, you're gonna have more difficulties.

3) The easiest way to meet someone is to call, and schedule, when they have an ad up. They are planning to work, and usually have an incall ready, and no impediments to being there.

Better luck next time! :)

P.S. I agree that these are not reviewable events.

I don't mind stating when I feel I am wrong......hard to find nowadays ;) but you're all right.....it wasn't a NCNS so I wouldn't post a review on it. Last minute cancellation (which still sucks) or not......at least you got a call.

I'm just venting at the general situation, not so much mad at the specific providers. I didn't try to go outside their normal hours, I'd only ask about that if it's someone I'd seen routinely. I've been at this a while, and I post reviews under a different name. I just generally don't post on the boards- they're far less entertaining with donny darko moving on.

I've run into bad provides with fantastics, and gems with no reviews. I set my expectations accordingly. The first cancellation I just rolled with- shit happens, right? Went and set up the next one, but got cancelled on late at night, which leaves slim pickings. Basically, what I'm saying is, I just felt like whining for a bit to vent the frustration, and this is the place that would understand (whether or not they'd agree).

My problem is with the second provider. She must have known she wasn't going to keep her appointment, but she waited for his confirmation call to deliver the bad news. And not even an apology? Terribly bad form. Sure stuff happens - but there's a proper way to handle it.

+1 Tact is everything in this profession. Some have it and others are just lacking..

I agree with this 100% but both appointments are unreviewable on TOB. maybe on TER or ECCIE.

It's astonishing how difficult it can be to give someone money. That goes for other fields. I call a contractor for a job, schedule the estimate, and he does not show up. Business must be really good, because you just lost my sizable job and got flamed on Yelp.

You flamed somebody on Yelp, because they didn't show up to give you a free estimate? You think your work is that valuable, and important?

I hope you never call me, 'cause you are a complete entitled tool. I'm not surprised that your wife is not very interested

I have to agree with pitbull on this one. Not because the contractor didn't provide a free estimate, but because he was NCNS after agreeing to an appointment. A simple phone call would have been appropriate if he couldn't, or didn't want to, keep the scheduled appointment. We (both M & F) complain about time wasters here on the board. Why should any other professional be any different?
