I've somehow got two accounts with the same name. I think it's a legacy relic from the change over (had 1 board account, 1 review account, different email addresses). Now all my PMs go to the one I don't use. Thoughts?

I contacted her. She wanted age, race, and a selfie. Not real interested in sending selfies in this hobby. Kind of, but it's not a reliable way to see if it's a cash n dash or legit. Or the classic BP "oh, it's another $200 for that."

Surprisingly, cops have cameras AND know how to write. The truth is, nothing completely rules out someone as being LE. You can take steps to reduce the risk, but it's never 0. Even your ATF can be rolled. At some point you either accept the remaining risk, or jerk it to some porn.

This goes both ways, though. I've been on the road to meet a provider and trying to call from the intersection, just to be sent to voice mail followed by a text. I mean, cool, you're sitting on a bed, I'm driving a car though, pick up the phone or I'm going home. Generally, I prefer the phone, but I'll use texts if that's what she does. It's all about having fun, so it's not really something to get worked up about.

Because I don't trust you. This is the sort of question that's amazing you'd even have to ask. It tells me you haven't thought things through very far, and that's not the sort of provider I want holding my information. Do you think men come see you for a real date? Like, you're going to be their new SO, friend them on Facebook, bring them lunch at work? Maybe he'll take you home to meet the family? "Hi, this is my wife, Jill, and my hooker, Coral. The kids are at the sitter tonight..."

Salvador Dali used to draw pictures on his checks at restaurants knowing the manager would never cash them.

I think I'd rather just have a recommend/repeat and drop the ratings all together. One man's fantastic is another man's so-so. It's a rather unreliable system. I know personally I've had a lot of times that were good, but rated fantastic, just in case I ever need the reference.

No such thing. Silk Road proved that. Ross Ulbricht had one server in France, and one in Iceland. They were hit simultaneously to preserve the data on them, then run by CI for a few months until they finished taking down Ulbricht. If they want the server and the info, they'll get it. That email is safer, but I wouldn't call it safe. Nothing electronic is.

I got on fetlife about a year ago because I wanted to get into the kinkier side of life, but it's been difficult to even get a conversation going, let alone build a friend network. I got my first private message (after being on there for a year) from a dude that wants me to kick him in the balls. That's cool if it's what you're into, ya know? but just not my style. Maybe we should build a tob group on there?

I'm just venting at the general situation, not so much mad at the specific providers. I didn't try to go outside their normal hours, I'd only ask about that if it's someone I'd seen routinely. I've been at this a while, and I post reviews under a different name. I just generally don't post on the boards- they're far less entertaining with donny darko moving on. I've run into bad provides with fantastics, and gems with no reviews. I set my expectations accordingly. The first cancellation I just rolled with- shit happens, right? Went and set up the next one, but got cancelled on late at night, which leaves slim pickings. Basically, what I'm saying is, I just felt like whining for a bit to vent the frustration, and this is the place that would understand (whether or not they'd agree).

I don't think this stuff qualifies for a review, but I thought I'd just vent a minute. On Thursday, I prebooked a provider for Friday. I'd hoped for an afternoon slot, but she preferred late evening, so I accepted that. I was looking forward to it since her reviews and ad together showed she had a lot of what I was looking for. About midday on Friday, she sent me a message letting me know she had a family emergency and had to cancel. Fair enough, I guess. Shit happens, right? Gotta be there for family. She was apologetic, and I wished the best to her and her family. Fast forward to Saturday. Tried to book a different provider for the afternoon, but late night again worked better for her. She's about 45 min from me, but again, reviews and the ad looked like a good match. Booked the appointment a good 5 hours out, and as I'm getting ready to leave to head there I sent a message to confirm directions. She replies with saying she couldn't do the appointment, try again tomorrow. Not even an "I'm sorry". Wasted my whole evening. Both these providers are well established and highly reviewed (over 100 between them, and only 1 average). So I'm 0-2 with respected, 'sure thing' providers. ugh. Anyone else want to rant?

Around here, BP is the devil, but I've been strung along by 'reputable' tob providers, too (3 times in the last month). BP is hit and miss, but there's some quality providers to find out there. BP isn't for the newbies, but if you've been doing this a while you kind of just get a sense about what seems legit and what's not kosher there.

I was with a provider once who started saying "Fuck me, oh fuck my virgin pussy!" I couldn't help it. I laughed.

The blacklisting crap is such bunk, too. I tried to book with one provider, and after giving her 6 references I gave up trying. Told her she could verify or not, but I was done doing work for her. She put my (burner) cell number on a blacklist site. I just changed the number and continued business as usual. So much for blacklisting, right?

With the change to the menu listings, I imagine reviews will have to be listed differently as well. Private messages will have to change, too, since being on a Canadian server opens it up to several different laws that can expose every piece of data on it. In the current US case against the founder of Silk Road, the government is arguing that since the server wasn't in the US, and Ulbricht doesn't claim to have owned it, then all data seized through the FBI hacking of the server is fair game. So, congrats to everyone who sent their info in.
