Providers financial situation and savings( retirements)

24 posts in this topic

I'm just being curious about the providers' financial situation. What I always thought is that they make good money so they were able after high maintenance expenses to save monthly a good amount which could go to a saving/ retirement acct ,however it seems it is not always the case. I know few providers in the metro area that I can say I'm  their regular. We talk a lot and 2 of them opened up to me about their finances. For instance one told me in her bad day she can make $ 600 and good day up to $3000. I was shocked when one of them started contacting me months ago about helping her to get room for incall. The other one ( she never asked me for anything) told me she recently travelled because she had a magazine pictures deal unfortunately the deal turned sour. She has used all her savings and now she needs to start over. I don't  mean to be disrespectful but I have a question : may be it just my own experience and I'm also aware there is unpredictable situation in life but I was wondering if most of them are able to save a lot when they retire?

Yes. Why? I don't party (drink, use drugs). Partying is a big health and wealth drain. I pay taxes on my income. I invest. I don't buy lots of foolish brand name items, and if I do, I never pay anywhere near full retail. Also, I make NOWHERE near $3,000 a day, and I prefer it that way :) And magazine pictures deal? Seriously?

LOL out of disrespect?? I know that was a typo but it's very funny.

First of all personal finance is no one's business but you will probably get a few good answers.

This business is tough but I would not consider 600 a bad day. I would happily take a few of those a week but my overheard is fairly low. The smart providers saved and some have done very well for themselves others like me not so much.

Providers are like, well, they're like PEOPLE.

Some are smart.  Some are dumb.  Some are crazy.

Some are nice to look at.  Some, not so much.

Some are good financial planners.  Some are not.

Some are honest.  Some are theives.

You see where I'm going with this?

I don't figure savings accounts and retirement is big on most ladies list. From what I see, many are living day to day, barely able to keep their phones active. Lets face it, many providers are down on their luck and aren't providing as a choice, but as necessity. Unfortunately, this often comes with substance abuse or assholes in their lives that they cant get rid of (what's the difference, really?).

Dont get me wrong...i love to fantasize that many of them are well off, do this for "fun" or side cash, or are retired from the real world and do this on the side. I just dont figure it's that way typically.

For every one who pulls it off, I bet 8 more are broke and getting worse, not better.

Every day I believe hobbying is less and less "sexy" and more and more its sad. For just about everyone involved.

I believe that assholes in their lives may be one of their biggest issue. A body rub/ sensual massage provider told me once that she is mostly attracted to bad guys / gangsters type. I told myself: holy crap!

+1 I have known people in this world who have saved almost 50% of the money they have ever made. I also know people where their saving account was the change that collected under the seat in their car. I see no reason to believe providers would be different from these people.

I will admit that I am horrible with money.  Back when I was a "real person with a real job," I had a savings account as well as an IRA that I contributed to.  But since entering this profession, it seems that I have lost all self-discipline.  I don't have any bank accounts nor a single dime under my mattress.  I don't have a drug problem -  but I am addicted to shopping for stupid unnecessary things.   Procrastination is another downfall - I'll dick-off 3/4 of the month right up until rent is due...and then I will work for 4-5 days and start the cycle all over again.  LOL  I need to make some major changes or I'm gonna be the one holding that cardboard sign eventually.  :)

I live on tight budget. 2,609.00 are my bills.

I am roughly 10,000 in debit. Medical, and car repairs.

*Iv learned how to supplement my income in 3 other ways outside of escorting.

*I have health insurance thanks to member on TOB.

*I have an awesome accountant, and law firm I work worth in the event I find my self in trouble.

*I don't have drug, alcohol, no longer smoke cigarets problem.

[snip]

Those of you who know me, know I had major accident 2011, when my the lawsuit settled, I got the money, I never spent a dime of it. I still have it.

When my father past away back in February, I got his money, had the lawyers split up 3 ways my brother, sister and me. I still have my share.

I don't have shopping problem.

But I have problem shopping for to many stilettos. I could afford lose 20 of them lol.

I have 1 bill that needs to get paid I'm COOL!

.....My daughter keeps telling me to give her the money, she will gladly spend it for me. lol :PUMMM not until I'm dead lol

Seems bad taste to talk about finances.  Just because a girl is an escort doesn't make it acceptable.  It shocks me sometimes when men ask how much I make or how many clients I have a day.

Ouch. It's disillusion. You loved to fantasize but didn't really consider the reality. Is it reasonable the fantasize that women in their 20s,30s and 40s are retired and doing this for a little extra income? Would you apply all of the ridiculous stereotypes you mentioned to any of the ladies that you have met? That this leads us to a life of despair, drug and spousal abuse?

Those 8 who are broke and getting worse probably wouldn't be any better off if they had real world jobs. It's more about what type of person someone is than the job that they do. Also some people aren't cut out to do this job, it's not guaranteed success for everyone.

Women and men who choose this as a profession may or may not have had a whole lot of other choices but what really is important to understand is that providing is a viable option. If you want to do it and you want to succeed you can and the rewards are great. You get to set your own schedule, be your own boss and take control of your own life in a way that most people can't.

This whole subject is distasteful.  Who are you to pass judgement on somebody else.  You think all the customers here are living as they should in your eyes?  Maybe you make enough to do things the "right" way but it's none of your fucking business what anybody else does with their money.

We are regular people just like everyone else out there in the business world. You will find people who save everything, those who save a little and those who spend their money as quickly as they make it.

Money in this business is easily made which drives making large or outrageous purchases more appealing due to the fact that money is easier to be made in this business than another business where you get paid an hourly or salary capped wage. Tie that into a girl's natural instincts to shop, and "Houston we have a problem" LOL ;-)~

There really is no difference unless you get into unfortunate situations where there are addictions/incidents in play which require tons of money to fund such as dr**s, alcohol, gambling, shopping, pimp taking all their money, immigrants trying to buy themselves out of slavery, etc. This list goes on and on lol.

A lot of times it's exactly like a professional football player (athlete). He makes tons of money, yet when he stops playing his money usually follows suit out the door. Unless he is smart, or has a smart investor, and learns how to save and invest his money correctly. Still the stock market has never been built on a solid foundation. Investments sadly can be mean money is here today, and gone tomorrow in a blink of an eye. Sadly I have seen people lose it all in a matter of days.

I love and need money as much as the next person.

My advice is:

Don't spend too much time worrying about the future if you can't spend more time enjoying each and every moment now here on Earth. Money isn't the end-all, be-all to our existence. It just appears and feels that way lol...

I am not great with money either, which is ironic considering my education is in Finance.  My addiction is goodwill and individually packaged groceries, like cases of soda etc...and houseplants. I have an unhealthy amount of plants!  I could probably afford all the drugs one could handle but plants are a less devastating vice :)

I bought a really expensive kitchen table for $300 off craigslist.com In the store world market is sells for $1500. And it real wood with no scratches basically brand new.

For valentines, birthday and christmas I ask for Victoria secret gift cards. When they have there yearly annual sell most everything is like 50% off. I have it set on my calendar for the yearly sale. Its awesome.

We see a lot of multi-millionaire athletes/entertainers who file for bankruptcy. I suspect that providers are mostly prone to the same mindset: Money is rolling in, and it's difficult to see a day when it will stop. Long-term planning/saving goes out the window. Not all, but the majority. I could be totally wrong, but that's my suspicion. Bring the hate.

I think with the ladies it's about the inconsistency. Some weeks you make a fortune and than others you don't so you spend it while you have it.

For some reason I am always surprised at peoples perceptions and us ladies. I shouldn't be, but I am. Here is the deal. Stereotypes do not always fit into that nice little package you think it does. Not all of us make a shit ton of money a month. We budget or don't. But what one lady does is none of mine or your business.

The truth of the matter is that this business goes through ebbs and flows just like any other. The economy crashes like back in 08 09, and shit can hit the fan. I had a house, a nice amount in savings, and a retail store in downtown Co Springs. I did not have money trouble. The point is things can happen in the blink of an eye that changes everything. Business took a sharp turn downward. In both my businesses. I went through most of my savings trying to keep my retail store open. Guess what, I had to close my store. As for the escorting business, it never fully recovered either.

My only outlet for me is to take care of me. I decided that the best course of action was to get an education. I am not one of the youngins so I better come up with a plan B. I am no longer accustomed to the fat paydays. In fact, I budget according to certain times of the year. Like for instance the month of January. Deadest month in the escort business. I do not go out and spend money on things because I know that at any time the phone may or may not ring.

SO to the OP, how do I fit into your stereotype? I do not do drugs. I do not drink anymore, I do not spend money I don't have. I have NO debt. No credit cards, no car payments. I have everything I need as far as frivolous stuff goes. Savings? No not at this point, BUT I am investing in myself and paying for college. That is isn't cheap, but damn well worth it.  .

Interesting topic. I have wondered about this mostly because my occupation is making sure my clients can retire and do so comfortably. Providers like others that are self employed have to plan on their own. But considering sources of income may be reluctant to work with a professional and may not know where to get help. It's something I have wondered about and interesting to read some of the responses.

My plan is not very complete but I think I have a good framework and jumping off point.  I hold a B.S. in Finance, but as luck would have it, I am a mediocre at best bookkeeper.  I have the knowledge but  also a lifetime curse of being god-awful at certain characteristics a successful 9-5'er, such as being on time ad getting along with 50 people who say lame shit like "sounds like someone has a case of the mondays!" I quite honestly dont know how it is that I survived college, because I am seriously, well..Ditzy.  I really cannot help it, so I find ways to manage my life.  What I do have is street smarts, common sense, and consideration. I can tackle a problem from a unique angle and ive been surprisingly successful at it. Why should I be held back in life because I can never find my keys, my phone, or my glasses(they're in my hand, btw)? Im a hard worker who is educated in the handling of money, and is capable of running a business thnaks to managing a gas station through college. Escorting provides me with the capital to run 2 businesses out of my home.  As far as time management, I dont commit to things that require a strict adherence to schedule. I can meet my deadlines with my personal business ventures (mostly, lol), and I am lenient to my employee as well.  Eventually, I will no longer need the capital   as my overhead is astonishingly low and won't need to rise until my profits are good. As for retirement?  My ex husband happens to be a gifted accountant and is still my friend and financial adviser. That man can invest like he's got that futuristic sports almanac of the  industry.  I think if I listen to him I will continue to be on the right track :)

Sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders. You are moving with Intention instead of reacting to what life tries to throw your way. Yes I fully agree... Street Smarts, Common Sense and Consideration can go a looonnnggg way lol. Add Wisdom into that equation, and you have a good solid foundation for living a successful, joyful and fulfilling life ;-)

This is why it very important to have more than one income. Supplementing your income in multiple ways is very important. Don't place all the efforts and eggs into one basket.
