Ladies, honest question

18 posts in this topic

Most of you are clearly professionals, so I hope you don't take offense to this question, but how often so you get tested for STIs? I know some of you offer UTF and just wondering if you or anyone you know has contracted anything this way? Since it's your business I'm sure you take great care, I'm just looking for some insight into how you handle this aspect of your profession.

Thanks!

Nope, never gotten anything or heard of anyone I know getting anything from UTF.

Oh wait... yeah there is that one guy whose dick rotted off and that one provider who had rabies.

It's interesting that a serious, honest question about a topic that probably everyone considers, is answered with only jokes (which were funny). Unless you never looked it up, you know UTF can transmit an STI, including HIV if your provider has a bleeding gum condition. I suspect the odds are very low so most of us just roll the dice and take their chances. But back to the question you asked about frequency of provider testing, I guess you won't get an straight answer because you probably won't like the answer provided. But the same question applies to those of us who are asking for the service. Personally, I get checked every other year or so, which i know is way too infrequent, but it does gives me a little peace of mind, for about a month, max.

Or the sarcasm could be because this issue has been discussed many many times in the past on this board. The board's search function is your friend.

The fact is that UTF carries *some* risk for transmission of herpes and bacterial infections (gonorrhea, syphilis, etc.). But the incidence rates appear to be very very low (there are one or two clinics that run online Q&A boards and the doctors who post there discuss rates of STI transmission). Also, I don't believe there are any verified cases of HIV being transmitted via UTF.

So, it's possible to get something by UTF, but not likely at all. (I am hyper-paranoid about STIs, so I stick with covered, even where UTF is offered. Nothing is 100% safe though.)

Also, if the prior threads on STIs are any indication, most of the ASPs posting on this board get tested regularly, as in several times a year, and anytime one of their clients is considerate enough to let them know that they might have been infected by said client.

The best thing is to inform yourself in risk. Then from that point it is a personal decision. Don't rely on any one and get tested regularly.

When I worked more on a "full time" basis I got tested every 3-4 weeks... Even if everything was covered (you never know). Never have had any issues!!

Hooray for good healthy ladies!!! :-)

Good question. If this is a concern for you, or anyone else. You should ask the escort when was the last time she was tested for full panel of STD's, and ask her to provide proof she got tested.

I am tested every 90 days. I am willing to provide proof. I have done so in the past.

I think an equally relevant question is how often are guys tested? Both parties are equally responsible for their own health and all it takes is one bad apple and a mutually bad decision to start a chain of unfortunate events. And while I trust many of the women specific to EB and P411 (not all though) have a good handle on their health, I wonder how many guys are also aware since many nasties have zero symptoms or a long incubation period before they present themselves but are evident in blood serum?

I used to get tested 4-6 times / year but will probably only do 2-4 / yearly visits due to my evolving habits. I've done three screens (one involuntary last month due to my accident) this year as an example. When I make 18-24 visits per year, in my opinion, I owe it to myself and the providers I visit to be responsible with my health and theirs. Even if you only see 1 or 2 women / year, I wish more people would take control of their health. Given the likely ease of higher risk sexual activities with "bargain" opportunities where a bit more money could translate into unsafe practices, I know that is something that occasionally worries me (not that risky activities don't happen at the higher end either). I don't want to come off as preachy (I am, I know) but this is a two way street.

Agree. I get tested every three months. 8 test panel. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Personally, I appreciate the rare provider ads that mention regular testing and that's a big plus when making a decision. And I agree completely that the guys need to get tested too, as frequently as your visits warrant. Not that I don't trust you other guys but I dont.

There is a reason we love you Mike. Your honest answer to the equation is spot on. Another thing to think about is most of our business is - married men. Married men who do this once, twice a year. They do not want to take any thing home to wifey. Can't blame them there. So we will always have party favors(condoms) at the ready. Married guys who use the services that we offer are the safest critters around.

The safest "critters" are the ones that are faithful. No matter what protective measures are taken the more sexual partners one has increases the risk of STDs. Hookers and john's are not the safest "critters" around.

True that. But then, "faithful" is not part of this equation. Is it.

My first Winter in the hobby is just about to start and I just got over this bad 48 hour flu virus going around right now. Quite likely I gave it to the ASP I met just before I got sick.

I know some people could not care less about the rest of us. And even those who care have no way of knowing for sure what virus' we carry. Flu, ebola or whatever is a bigger issue for me than STDs.

Me thinks that kissing is off limits at least until the flu season is over. Sux! Anyone know of a mouth condom?
