Posted August 15, 2014 Is that supposed to make us feel better? I think it's similar to the one mentioned the other day, who made the john state fir a recording that he was not a cop. They think the word "donation" (as opposed to "payment") protects them from prosecution. Once the word caught on, everyone started using it.
Posted August 15, 2014 Is that supposed to make us feel better? Yes! Case A: I just had hot monkey sex with some sweet little thing! She couldn't make her rent so I donated $250 to help her out! I'm the man! Case B: I'm so unappealing that I had to give some lady $250 just to do it with me. While case B is probably closer to the truth, case A sounds better when you're talkin' to your drinkin' buddies.

Posted August 20, 2014 Makes it sound like the woman is a charity case in need of a "donation." It is an odd phrase, but so is "adult services provider" and "untranslated french." Even "the hobby" is an odd way to refer to this endeavor. I agree that "donation for time and companionship" is essentially some bizarre way to prevent prosecution (misguided).
Posted August 20, 2014 Is that supposed to make us feel better? I guess because it is optional...right? I mean, like a charity as mentioned, so not required. WOOOT! Then again, the donation is just for time and not any other sort of activity.
