Courtesan is a old term that was used for a person taking care of monarchs. Modern usage would be the same as escort.

let me (respectfully) disagree. whether anyone acknowledges it or not, words and their subtle nuanced connotations do have power. each one means something different. otherwise we would only have 1 of them for everything.

i've been a john and a hobbyist and a client - seen hookers and amp's and escorts. they all mean something uniquely different.

I've been referring to myself as a "courtesan-in-training" for years.

Its not because I want to charge more than other providers (I don't),

nor is it some marking trick.

I think it comes down to a deal I made with myself in the beginning. If I'm going to do this, then I'm going to pour myself into this. I'm going to do my best. I'm going to care. I'm going to hold my head up high.
