Historical in the Springs?

9 posts in this topic

I’m wondering if there are any historical sites that can’t be missed in the Springs? I was a history major and I’d like to learn a little more about the city. I’m particularly fond of the Edwardian era so if there is anything from that time period I would be over the moon about it! Thank you in advance!

Callie, CSprings has some fine sights and some are historical.  Check out the Manitou Cliff Dwellings just west of Csprings for some Native history.  And just for the sights, Garden of the Gods is beautiful.

Check out the Old Colorado City Historical Society.  https://occhs.org/

They can show you which side of the street had all the bars and brothels, and where the tunnels are that connected them to the "proper" side of the street!

Cave of the Winds in Manitou is fun to see and original.

Phantom Canyon brewery downtown is a great beer joint downtown. They reference the real Phantom Canyon which is south of Victor CO. It’s a great scenic drive that is good for 2wd cars. Makes nice for a day trip.

Hang out in the Garden of the Gods for a couple of hours to see this wonder.

Drag the gut on Nevada on Friday nights. Just be careful.

Kings Chef Diner at Bijou and Nevada has great burgers and Green Chili!

There's nothing like going to Garden of the Gods early in the morning like 6, 7am. It's so peaceful & almost echos. This post just reminded me of that but I know everyone already knows about that place of course! :)
