P411 ad board

43 posts in this topic

That's impressive you can accurately predict an event after it happens. I think that quality would make you a better newscaster than a clairvoyant.

So you do have your panties in a twist! Did you bother to read any of what the law changes were? Are you a provider on P411 who was reminded constantly of the changes in rules? Is it really a super shock to you that it was taken down? You yourself saw some of the drama it inspired and that didn't happen yesterday. It was headed for disaster it's not predicting after the fact, it's more like why get all upset over something that wasn't all that hard to see coming.

Just a reminder for the whiners lamenting the loss of P411's ad board:

  • Who remembers when if you wanted to see what a provider looked like before you booked the appointment you had to troll for street walkers? For a significant increase in costs and not much decrease in risks, there was a slim chance you might be able to pick some gal up at the strip club.
  • Who remembers the struggles even finding the Red Light District in a strange town?
  • Who remembers when the only references you needed were Alexander & Andrew?
  • Who remembers when you called that print ad & a guy answered? Most YL worked for an agency, if not an outright pimp. Independent? Right!
  • Who remembers searching for 'comfort' on your own, no one to guide you through the process, steer you away from the losers, or point out the special treats. (In the service some old timers would take fresh meat under their wing for a night on the town, but in normal society that didn't happen much.)

So let us get down on our knees and give thanks for the likes of P411, TOB, TNA, etc. And pray that they don't go the way of SF Red Book or Big Doggie.

I used it. It seemed like providers posting there were more likely to respond to requests. You can go by "last logged on", but maybe some have a "bot" to do that. ;-)

I am personally already feeling the sting from the closing of the ad board. Turns out I relied heavily on it. I am getting way less inquiries and the ones I am having to focus on now are noticeably dodgy. Where are we all agreeing to congregate now? In Austin where I moved from, ECCIE was a great resource for both parties...

I also relied on it....I know there are other means to advertise availability, but I was attempting not to go that route so we'll see how it pans out.

but our hands are tied.

I gotta say, I like the image of you and your administrative staff with your hands tied. Wish I were there! 😉

My views went down to a quarter of my profile views from when the ad board was up..so was the requests. also At a disadvantage...whereas many provider could throw out an arbitrary daily P411 Special to members (vs just changing their profile to always allowing a p411 special) ..when it is slow or due to a cancellation is no longer there...nor is detailed availability to openings/availability. Total bummer for both provider and client.

On an advantage..it is a Super smart and Brilliant business move! Businesses have to make $. and on top of the new law headaches......the visiting ads for providers have gone from 5 points to 10 points to 20 points ($) AND the loss of any real time advertising there..TOTALLY supports the expansion (notice the new cities) on EscortBoards...where providers will have to pay$ to advertise where they lost exposure on P411. Providers can't use the ad boards..they now have to pay $ for increased exposure ads..(which are NOT cheap) AND Escort Boards.

This all was supported by the months and months of "don't give providers your info" "protect your info" marketing on the boards here to make providers and clients reliant on P411 alluding that you cannot hobby safely without the board.

Overall, yes..it was necessary due to the new law...but under it all..it is a brilliant move for the business to make more $. P411 is not a charity...it's a business and what happens happens. Providers will have to be more creative on how to get the word out..or spend Much more money to... Clients won't have access to real time or P411 arbitrary discounts by providers, but perhaps have to establish better provider relationships to receive that in the future.

Personally I'd like to see more providers just tweeting their availability.

Not sure how you think pushing business to EscortBoards.net is a brilliant business move for P411.com....? Also, I'd like to point out that it's been TEN YEARS of "marketing on the boards", not "months and months".

Anyway, I suppose you also missed where it was said that we are working on an Available Now feature that won't need to be moderated and will be totally free for everyone involved. The only catch is that the bitchers and complainers won't get to use it..... too bad for you!

I'm just kidding about that last sentence, btw. Have a good one. :)

I see them, too. Unless I'm doing something wrong, though, the only city other than Denver showing any listings therein is Vegas. I come up empty with searches in Dallas, Houston, Austin/San Antonio and Kansas. BTW, Kansas??
