Is that really you in that picture??

Or is it you 10 years ago?

One of the problems I seem to be running into as a new provider is the fact that clients doubt the authenticity of the photographs in the ads. Probably because they have been burned it the past. Apparently being "authenticated" doesn't mean squat either ( from what I've read ) so I haven't bothered with that.

Since I am really new and have very few reviews this adds to the problem and I've been trying to figure out a way around this… I came up with this.

How about a short Skype call? It's free, anonymous and can even expedite the screening process and make things go more smoothly. You get to see the provider and make sure she really is who she claims to be and you even get to know each other a little bit before the initial date.

Thoughts?

Supposedly, once a provider's ad goes out their phone rings non-stop. Mostly with time wasting calls. Now trying to add a Skype call or taking a new picture for appointment requests just adds to the overhead and makes you look like the time waster. Also, they sometimes get appointments canceled just after a client has seen them naked in the hotel room and Skype calls could turn into the same thing.

In theory, a skype calls eliminates the issue but like Nusa said there will be a lot of time wasting phone calls. Even more when the time waster in question actually get to see and chat with the lady.

The answer SHOULD be in the reviews. If the reviewers are being honest they will address the issue of the pictures matching the providers. But I think we all know better than that. Reviews that are less than stellar seldom seem to see the light of day and are not met with enthusiasm. It's the reason I stopped posting reviews on this board. Anything less than stellar was met with antagonism from both the provider and other hobbyists.

Good thread . Unfortunately. truth in advertising is not always so. Granted, I realize that a bad review can be met harshly from the person who receives it, but then it is also a learning tool for that provider if she chooses to use it . If the problem /provider wants to harass you over a bad review- then block her from contacting you. This forum and other forums have these safe guards that we can use . Unfortunately, someone who is a troll in behavior, and is out to do harm to someones reputation-is not unheard off- but rare. And trolls can be a male, or female. But it is easy enough to read between the lines , and figure that out.

However, so many guys don't do reviews. Case in point- my last one was in January. And that is not to say that I am hard up for dates because I am not. But yet we consistently read on here about recent reviews being the criteria for many guys. People can lose/ gain weight, etc. in two months time.

We ladies also realize these reviews are a big help in the advertising dept. And so, this is my plug for you gentlemen to review us truthfully if you have not reviewed before, and to thank those of you who do. And honestly I've never heard of a guy getting busted because he is a reviewer. This seems to be one of the top reasons for not reviewing. It helps your brothers here, and it is good for our business. I also think the fact that we may be reviewed, because I and a few others will never ask for them, keeps the service you receive consistent.

Reviewing is win/win situation for both the hobbyists, and the ladies.

And the part that asks if our pictures look like us- very important.

Writing a review on provider who is using false advertisement, this can be life changing if your a honest gentlemen. So gentlemen, BE SMART and protect your privacy. If you have run into an escort who you just pisted off, there are providers who will TRACK YOU DOWN- THEY WILL OUT YOU TO YOUR WIFE, YOUR [snip] YOUR JOB, BLACKMAIL YOU, THEN BLACKLIST YOUR ASS, FLYER YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, SPOOF YOUR PHONE NUMBER TO OTHER GIRLS, SPOOF YOUR EMAIL. If you read my previous posting, I always recommend get a p411 account, google voice or throw away phone, don't give out your personal information.

Actually, that's supposed to be a newspaper with today's headline plainly visible. I'd settle for a recent Westword or Time magazine cover.

Adding the phone number is a nice touch, though.

Yes, it happens on a regular basis, and you'd be surprised how well known and supposedly reputable the providers doing it usually are.

Protect your real life information when hobbying, at all costs. If you are giving out your real life info, it's only a matter of time before you run into a vindictive, emotionally unbalanced, provider who will use it to destroy your world... should you be brave enough to post a negative review or have to cancel an appointment.

Of course, it's only a tiny percentage of providers who would do something like this.... but that tiny percentage is a destructive percentage, and they are almost exclusively the well established, involved in the community, type.

People are afraid to say anything, for fear of what these providers will do to them.

For those ladies who show their faces and are not worried about blowback.

Not so much for those who wish to remain very discreet. Plus you might end up getting guys wasting your time on Skype jacking off for free.

So if an escort gets robbed or hurt, and they do not have any real life info to give to the police (in the event of an assault), how does she exact proper retribution? Does P411 give out such info to help her if requested by police or a lawyer?

I get personal info on the guys I see and they seem to have no issue giving it to me, I guess if they have no other agenda in mind all is good. Oh and after a few visits, they do get mine. So if I try any shennanigans they can always come get me. I guess I like a level playing field.

It's your prerogative as a provider to collect real life information if you wish to do so, just as it's the client's prerogative to decide whether they are going to give out real life info to providers.

All I can say, is that after seeing how many clients have assaulted providers versus the number of providers who have destroyed a client's life over a cancellation or bad review.... I am firmly in the "only an idiot would give a provider his real life info" camp.

And if it ever really came down to it, a provider would have some form of communication with the client that would hopefully allow authorities to track him down if needed. Fortunately, my experience has shown me the those times are extremely few and far between....

I am currently building an app that will weed out all time wasters and only let the real clients through.... lol

This is probably one of those "age old questions" that will never really be answered. As for the Skype and other such tech options, they are hit and miss, mainly in how efficient you are personally with the software or apps. But be ware, they is now a new scam, or at least for me, that I thought sounded so novel to help the providers. They said I have to go to a webcast and do a little chat with them. Sounded logical, but then they wanted to pay 25 or 50 upfront to get on, and that is where I knew it was a fake, pluss the price was so low and for how ever long I wanted, but enough of this and it taints options that you are trying to do.

Now for something different that has my attention, was a provider to had some videos on her web page, it has my attention. She provides both body rubs with full service, and if she ever were to work late night, I would be all over it. But till that day....

Just my .02 cents worth

The best advice I could give you is this. Take pictures that are accurate. Do NOT over do the effects, air brushing and other photoshop tricks. You want them to look good, but NOT too good to be true.

A good example of this is a provider who is from out of town, but has been posting on EB a lot recently. Her pictures are really her, but they are SOOO HEAVILY AIRBRUSHED that there's no way in hell she could ever meet the expectation that she set up for herself. You don't want to be that girl who can't doll her self up enough to meet the expectation set by her pictures. Accurate and not over the top is the best way to go. Also the more pictures you have the better results you'll get.

However, so many guys don't do reviews. Case in point- my last one was in January. And that is not to say that I am hard up for dates because I am not. But yet we consistently read on here about recent reviews being the criteria for many guys. People can lose/ gain weight, etc. in two months time.

Try to understand the situation that most appointments put clients into. The vast majority of providers, for most guys will fall into the "Meh" or "OK" or "Average" or "fun but not stellar" category. If I leave a review, it's going to be honest and accurate. If my experience with a provider wasn't terrible but wasn't fantastic, well, many providers get pissed or won't see me again if you leave them an average review. The provider I mentioned above falls into this category. She wasn't bad enough to ding on a review, but wasn't good enough to give a fantastic.

So the answer is to not leave a review unless..

1. It was very good to fantastic.

2. It was not good to terrible and I didn't want to go back anyway.

The fact is, Good reviews = advertising, but No reviews probably = repeat business.

I agree. I've had very, very few sessions that I would label as fantastic and am often uncomfortable writing reviews for average experiences.

What many folks forget is that an AVERAGE review is still a good experience, think sex with your SO during the 2nd or 3rd year of marriage.

Yes, it's that dreaded "meets expectations" standard. This applies to both the guys writing the reviews, and to the guys & gals reading them.

They also tend to forget that the overall rating applies to the complete experience, which may include things not in the providers' control. (EXAMPLE: Arrive at the incall and the power is out. This stressful situation detracts from your attention and pleasure for both of you.)

Don't skype unless you're willing to have someone record you. All they need to do is buy a $35 piece of software that records all the traffic passed through the video card.

I haven't forgotten that; I just don't agree with it. For me, an average experience is neither good nor bad--more like ho-hum. So, we have different definitions, for sure. A "good" might well bring me back, whereas an "average" won't.

They could probably photoshop a copy of a current newspaper in too. But that would take work and I suspect that most of the scammers are too lazy.

Photos are probably the SECOND most discussed topic on the board, after rates.

The big difference between them is that photos is usually a valid topic.

Try these definitions of "good":

- you don't end up in jail

- you don't end up in a ditch

- you didn't have to provide self-service

- she didn't run off with your cash

- she wasn't plug-ugly

- she wasn't a he

- you did get your ashes hauled!

Yes, AVERAGE is ho-hum, but not a bad experience.

I tried, but none of those definitions--by themselves or in any combination--would bring me back for another session.

Yes, AVERAGE is ho-hum, but not a bad experience.

True, but neither is average a good experience, which was the primary point of my disagreement.
