Evil Dead was a real attempt to make a horror movie. Army of Darkness was intentionally campy and Ash vs Evil Dead strikes a nice balance. It's well produced, it's as gory as you could ever want it to be and it's extra nostalgic.

Best 'B' movie ever made. "Gimme some sugar, baby......." Bruce Campbell?

Viewmasters used to scare me, jack in the box, lot's of probably silly things...Hmmm I possibly gave it too much thought when i was really young! Kind of funny how we looked at life when we were really little. The escalator at the end of the ride might suck me through to the other side of the world??? This being if I don't get ready to jump!

It's only Anna Biller's second film so obviously low budget but it's still so great. Elaine is freaking hot too. I love love and I love the Love Witch!

On a side note Communion was the scariest book I’ve ever read. Admiral, I’ve always guessed you had good taste in spooky. Thank you for solidifying my assumptions.

Horror is still alive and kicking. Just in the past year or two we've had a few of the greatest modern horror films. The Witch, Get Out, Krampus and IT. We have Andy Muschietti, Peter Jackson, Eli Roth, Guillermo Del Toro. And in between now and then there's been John Carpenter, Wes Craven, Tobe Hooper and Sam Raimi. I almost forgot George Romero. Horror isn't even my favorite genre but somehow I have seen a ton of it. Every decade has it's gems as well as total turds. I grew up in the 80s and 90s, I didn't watch the monster movies of the 50s. My first monster movie was Jaws.
Posted November 5, 2017 Also since November officially kicks of the holiday season and there is already Christmas shit everywhere; there are good holiday horror movies out there too. Black Christmas the one from the 70s or the remake, Krampus, Rare Exports and of course Gremlins.

Most of the American ones are consistent and cheesy...they are more comedies for me. Even the sex scenes have me rolling my eyes. I will say that for the last few years, I haven't been able to watch any horror that have children in them having stuff happen to them. There is already enough bad stuff out there towards them that makes me have nightmares so nope to those. Guess I have turned into a baby as I am getting older. xoxo, Samantha Sheppard Nope. I agree, leave the kiddos out of scary films!
