Ad for escort drivers

18 posts in this topic

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, but I'm a long time lurker. Does anyone here know about the ads on BP for escort drivers jobs? Is it a scam? There is a $299 upfront fee to work. Feels fishy, but I'm in need of a job.

Do you have a vehicle that qualifies for Lyft or Uber? If your car qualifies you can drive for both.

Thanks for the logical suggestion. The ad feels way too good to be true, and doing a little googling, there are recent postings in other cities BP that they got scammed out of the $$$.

A job in an illegal industry where you have to pay up front in order to earn money?  What could possibly go wrong?

I could be wrong about this. If the provider gets busted and you dropped her off I think LE presses charges against you. You may want to do further research.

If that was true, then taxi, livery, Uber and Lyft drivers could be charged too. In order to be complicit in a crime before or after the fact you must be aware that a crime is taking place, will take place or had taken place. You must enter into the conspiracy to commit the crime and assist in it's commission in some way.

Merely providing a ride to someone from one point to another does not qualify as entering into the conspiracy. You can dispute prior knowledge simply by saying you had no idea what would take place. Also, if you dropped the person off then drove away, you have no knowledge of what is going to take place. And when you returned to pick them up, you had no knowledge of what took place. It's called plausible deniability.

I've seen this rationalization, to plead ignorance, but it looks like in the thread above the guy that did it held onto money and things like that too. I've certainly realized that this ad would not be what it says it is. On top of everything, why was I looking at BP? Looking for some companionship....my ape mind(penis) swayed my thought processes into a scenario where I would make tons of money and drive beautiful ladies to exotic destinations. I'm back now. Applied to drive for Lyft. Thanks for all the replies. Now, onto hobbying.

Glad Yellow came to his senses.

As for the plead ignorance defense, smacks of the old Steve Martin bit re: not paying taxes ("I forgot"). Yeah, might not get convicted on anything, but probably will have a trip through the legal system. Hiring a lawyer, court appearances. Maybe your car being confiscated and having to pay a hefty fee to get it back. Akin to the whole johns getting run in for just knocking on the door of an incall sting operation: might plead it down, but still having to deal with the court system, and you have plausible deniability in that if you didn't mention specifics in the call, "time and companionship" defense? Yeah, good luck with that.

There was a person who was charged for dropping off a girl. It was posted here on TOB. Ill see if I can find the post. I don't recall the full details. Which is why I said I could be wrong.

If you are a driver, and get caught dropping off an escort you will most likely be charged with being a pimp. The anti-trafficking laws have been changed so that they can now charge and prosecute those drivers dropping off and picking up escorts. A lot of pimps do this to keep an eye on (aka control) their girls better.

In my opinion... if I were you... I would try to work for Uber instead. It's legal, and the worst thing that will probably happen to you is that some drunk idiot will throw up in your car. That is , in my opinion, muccchhhh better than being charged and tried as a pimp. Geez could you imagine having that on your record? I am going to guess your getting a job after something like that will be extremely difficult. Not many people in this society are too keen on hiring a pimp to work for their company. Most people have great disdain for pimps. I know I do lol.

I know someone who works for Uber, and they make great money. The hot pink lips with Lyft just make me giggle lol. Uber just seems more professional, cool and trendy lol. That's more my style lol.

Final thought... What if you drop some girl off, and there is some kind of catastrophe like a murder, rape, drug deal/use gone bad or robbery? Do you really want a detective contacting you to question you about some incident like that? Probably not.

Speaking of ape minds (your comment above)... If we evolved from monkeys then why are there still monkeys lol? And are they mad they did not get to be human too lol? Thought for the day lol hee hee.

Glad to see you decided Not to go towards the dark side. May the force be with you lol ;-)~

Very well said.  It would be like waiting for a time bomb to go off at any time.

I believe everyone here has limited knowledge of how our justice system works. An arrest is not a guarantee of a conviction. Most DA's would rather prosecute the cases they can win and plea bargain the rest. A good defense attorney will make mincemeat out of any witness or co-defendant with a questionable background. I' m sorry but if the evidence doesn't indicate the person had prior knowledge of a crime you can't be convicted in the conspiracy. People, read a law book, study case law and go sit in a courtroom once and awhile before you talk about things you know nothing about.

Thanks. I'm embarrassed that I considered this for 12 hours or so. I was really hoping a bunch of providers would jump up and say "Why yes, I only ride with #1 Executive Escort Escort service. They're like uber, but they pay 12 grand a week."

I appreciate this forum's openness and frankness. I suppose that's because some people here get to know one another quite well.

I'm glad you came to your senses!  Picture this for a minute.....great way to get charges for pimping or trafficking just for applying. I know this may sound paranoid but, the feds all over the US are on this freaking human trafficking kick. Better than busting a bunch of girls with a misdemeanor charge. Bait a bunch of guys into applying for a job.  They used to trap dead beat dads with, hey buddy you won a trip and then bust them in California. SO kids remember, if it seems to good to be true, it probably is.

I met a guy in LA who worked for uber and he made fat cash.   It's a legit job. Of course there is money on the flip side as well. Back in the day when I ran a service, we used to give business cards to cab drivers at the airports. Think about that for a minute. Of course this was before the internet was a thing, before TOB, so screening wasn't a thing, but it worked back then.

You should never have to pay to work a job. Maybe buy some equipment, but a 'fee' to be employed is always a scam.
