Exaggeration

Any credibility to the reviews on this site anymore, or is this just a fluke?

"My previous post was exaggerated about service. It was placed after our agreement on an over-night, so I figured, "why not." The massage was ok at best and so was the end. If it was not for the commitment, I would not have seen here again."

I realize that this guy has not been a long standing member of the community, but come on. How often do you think this kind of shit happens?

P.S. wasn't sure if I would be allowed to link the review here or not, but you won't have to look far to find it.

As far as I know, you are allowed to link to reviews on the TOB review site, www.tobreviews.com. But there is limited capability to link to individual reviews on that site for technical reasons.

Here are the reviews of the provider you are talking about:

http://www.tobreviews.com/index.cfm?show_all_reviews=yes&asp=3321

I noticed that, before the latest reviewer posted a "Fantastic" followed 3 weeks later by a "Rip off", there were 11 "Very Good" and "Fantastic" reviews by others. However, the other reviews are from 2011 to 2014, and it's possible that the quality of her sessions has declined.

As Wannabebad said, need to take with a grain of salt. On this board, some guys are sloppy with their reviews, and at times, have things selected that probably should not be. For example, a body rubber, yet, "escort" is selected and or "full service". The tattoo field is frequently off: from pics and previous reviews, provider has many, but reviewer says "none". "Pics real" is another that you need to take with a huge grain of salt. Many times see that as yes and in the review "pictures are really her", but if you image search the pics, obviously stolen. TER, I always suspect over exageration on the rest of the story part. Seems like only way to get a review on there.

Back to Wannabebad's post, ditto the reviews are for general idea and to know provider is legit. Anything else can be highly variable.

As for the review in question, reviewer might be stretching the "truth" now. Not much in the previous review, so, at worst, the overall rating might have been an average. But again, might have had a nice time, and now that the supposed raw-dog session (guessing from the getting tests comment) is a no-go, reviewer is pissed and looking to get even with her.

And now the reviewer put a big flag on themselves. For providers, the possible bareback attempts might scare them away, for review readers and discussion board participations, can this person be trusted about anything?

I accept most reviews. One fool, who is probably trying to get back at the girl, doesn't ruin every other review. Obviously, YMMV, and pics without a face can deceive a guy, but overall, I trust most multiple review writers.

I doubt this outright lying in reviews is common. :)

With the excess of bad reviews why would he keep seeing girls, I can imagine want to keep in this hobby if I was that unhappy with everyone I saw

It's a body of work evaluation, not a single event. Patterns are our friend. Guys who tend to like the girls I like inform me. No reviews, no me. Scores, not so much.

There are a number of providers whose service level has declined through the years. A couple of recent other posts have noted this. I've known a few over the years who were quite good for a while, but then deteriorated. Stuff happens. I use reviews to see if (1) the lady is legit and not LE and (2) if certain critical services are offered. From there, it's a bit of a crap shoot. Not everyone is compatible. But in the end, I give credence to the reviews here - unless they say simply "Full Service". In such cases, they are discounted and I move on.

I would wonder why, before writing the "exaggerated" review, he would set up an over night if he didn't enjoy hours first encounter. My assumption would be that the first visit was good enough to set up an over night, but after being disappointed with his second encounter, he wants to discredit his first review. That is my assumption, but cannot be sure. But if the first visit wasn't good, why set up another?

Without being too redundant, the value -- to me -- of reviews is the discussion of logisitics. Easy to contact, quick reply, clean incall, good communication, photos are accurate, good grooming are the sort of things that in a series of reviews of a provider, I think, tell you whether there is going to be undue stress.

Everything else around the private time is just so random. Trying to count on X happening to you because it was in a review seems silly. I'm not saying that area of content in the reviews is always unreliable, but I wouldn't go into an appointment dead set on something I read happening. If it does, excellent; if not, then you shouldn't be disappointed.

Your Mileage WILL Vary!

Caveat emptor, indeed. People really like to fling that YMMV acronym around a lot. But honestly, if the butcher wipes his ass with a steak before handing it to the customer, that isn't really a 'mileage may vary' type of experience. It's just bad customer service. On the flip side if the customer is a total dick, he can't expect to get good service.

I'm not debating on whether YMMV. Most of us understand there will be some variances from session to session, but the review I originally posted about is not a matter of differences of perception. It's just an outright lie. If not that one, then the one he wrote previous to that one.

IF reviews were accountable in some way, and at this point, I feel that's highly debatable, then bad quality should burn itself out over time. And yet, terrible rated providers thrive on and fantastic rated providers turn out to be not so fantastic. Why? Sexual scotoma and a mass tolerance for deception.

The healthy way to look at this is that everyone else is crazy ...

It's just not the sane way to look at it.
