Web site rate vs. review rate

17 posts in this topic

I've run into this a few times. Saw an ad for a provider who looked great. Web site says $400 for an hour. Tons of reviews on here, all $250 to $300 an hour. What's the deal with that?

I decided to email this provider, admitting my honest confusion. The reply was very nice, but said, basically, that her rate has been $400 forever and she can't control what people put in reviews. If it were one or two, that would make sense. But all of them? They're all just lying?

I guess it's not a huge deal. I'll just move along. Just curious if anyone has any insight about that. I'd assume she just has a lot of regular clients and not really looking for new ones, but if that's the case, why advertise? P411 ad has no rates listed.

Just something to think about. I kinda hate feeling like I'm paying more than someone else did. I feel like I'm a good client, the kind you'd want to have. I've read a billion times "Rates are non negotiable". If that's the case, then that's what it should be.

Clients will wait until these girls run specials.

Clients will write reviews put their special as the rate because its what they paid. Neither is lying in this circumstance.

Some girls change their rates. So what her reviews say may not reflect it.

General rule of thumb, look at rate she posted for the day on her daily advertising. That is her rate for the day.

Rates change, & go up and down, just like the stock market. Or other things, too...

I'm fine with someone raising rates. I'm fine with someone running specials. But if someone asks, then that's what you should say. And let's be honest. It's unlikely that someone with a lot of reviews just happened to get all of them when they were running specials. Unlikely as that is, if that were the case, they should just say so when someone asks. Don't tell me your rate hasn't changed in years and all the reviews are wrong. That's insulting my intelligence. And $250 down from $400? I guess it's possible, but that's a heck of a discount.

There wasn't a rate posted in the ad. Or a name. I only got those when I emailed. Then I checked for reviews. The rate didn't add up to the reviews so I asked about it. I guess "They're all wrong" wasn't the reply I was looking for.

It really doesn't matter. I just wondered if someone knew what it was all about.

She raised her rates, and felt it was none of your business, so she lied about it. Since that bothers you, move on.

Yeah, we're all good clients, and none of us wants to pay more.

Unfortunately, what we see in the mirror, and what other people see, when they look at us, are two different things. I think I'm a good client, but what do the girls say, when no guys are listening? I'll never know, and probably wouldn't like it. :)

Yeah, that's the right answer. I'm not even sure why it bothers me so much. We all have our weird insecurities I guess. She was completely polite and professional, and continued to reply even when I could see how petty I sounded. But I don't think I could have a good time feeling like I was paying a bunch more than anyone else ever had. Yes, if someone else typed that I'd tell them they were being silly to. So best to move along. I'm always surprised at the little things that bother me. I don't tend to be that kind of person. At least I recognize that it's not all together logical.

Hell, I could be Jaba the Hut. She wouldn't know that from an email. That's the thing that I don't understand about my own reaction. I'm acting like it's personal, when I know there is no way it could be. It's just weird. Live and learn. And maybe try to grow up a little.

Getting deep into psych territory here. Maybe it feels like rejection? I experienced a lot of that when married or in long-term relationships. I'll never be in either of these situations again, but in the beginning of my participation in the hobby it was like I had an antenna out for any hint of rejection. This hobby is wonderful therapy for fear of rejection. :D

That sounds like as good a theory as any. But I found a great way to get over it. I'm seeing her in a couple of days. :)

Another rate thread! Yeah!

Another thread you were forced to read. Thank you for your productive contribution. Yeah!

Personally I think that's shady as fuck. I've run across girls who have admitted they list their rate on the site higher than what they advertise as. Back page girls are notorious for advertising cheap rates there and higher on p411 and such.

I recently raised my rates and forgot to edit it on one local board- because of that my account on 411 was suspended because it looked shady. I explained and got it fixed but unless there was a recent rate change I don't see why there would be a discrepency. Personally I think honesty from both parties is important for everybody to feel comfortable. That's an automatic red flag and if you do see that happen I think you should let the site know about the difference in rates.

Would love to hear the excuses given by the ladies.

You start a thread to complain about her rates and now you are going to see her. So exactly why did you come complaining in the first place.

That was unclear. I didn't see the person I was talking about in the first post. I saw someone else, which was a great way for me to get over the whole thing. It was a poor joke.

Sure had a great time though, and it was a hell of a lot less than $400. We really got along great too! We traded some really nice notes after. I've always thought it would be nice to spend time with someone I could develop a real friendship with. Probably too soon to say for sure, but it feels like I may have found that!

"I've always thought it would be nice to spend time with someone I could develop a real friendship with. Probably too soon to say for sure, but it feels like I may have found that!"

Sounds like the $400 provider dodged a bullet there!

Guy comes on public boards complaining about rates- shows an over-emotional side..even though she acted professional in her response to him......admits to looking for beyond the escort/client relationship..." a real friendship"...

Sounds like she sensed that ...politely declined to give a discount on a first time inquiry/non-client/non-regular...., sensing the "crazy"...
