Another reason for legalizing the endorphins generating activity

30 posts in this topic

The man in Santa Barbara listed LACK OF SEX as one reason for his rampage. Wake up and smell the coffee and legalize the fucking shit . Sex is paid for anyway in different forms even in marriage. Prostitution can save life and I am not sarcastic and let dopamine flow .

Since you admitted you were not sarcastic....

Lack of sex is not an excuse, and the rampage is NOT justification for a rampage. I agree prostitution should be legal, but stupid comments like yours are not helping the matter.

I didn't say it is a justification .Lack of sex can lead to serious psychological problems . You need to get laid asap so you will not call my comment stupid. You are a candidate !

Lack of sex can lead to serious psychological problems .

Case in point.

"The man in Santa Barbara listed LACK OF SEX as one reason for his rampage"

You said nothing about "serious psychological problems" in your first post. And no, lack of sex does not lead to rampages. And legalizing prostitution won't resolve either psych problems OR rampages OR lack of sex.

Get a clue.

If it can save just one life, wouldn't it be worth it?

Legalize prostitution now.

It should not fall to providers to have to deal with violent, misogynistic assholes. This is why a lot of us screen and don't see everyone.

To me, these are 2 completely different issues. Yes, of course it should be legalized/ decriminalized. This will keep everyone who is involved in this world a lot safer. Another thing that would help keep all the women of the world a lot safer would be if certain groups of men would stop assuming it's their God-given right to get laid. Concepts like the friendzone, girls never like nice guys, etc. lead to sexual assault and now very obviously murder.

Another harmful concept is the idea that just because a man pays for it means that he can get whatever he wants. Or the idea that if this kid could have just had a little sex or love, this all could have been avoided! He was clearly extremely unbalanced, and I don't think all the sex and love in the world could have done anything to help that. Who knows what he would have done to a provider if he had had access to one?

Very good points, Kitten.

The notion that we should pass a law simply to appease a potential mass-murderer is as dumb as it gets.

This kids issue does go way beyond not having a girlfriend and not having sex. It's much deeper than that. It amazes me how the media will find a segment related to sex in anything and emphasize that issue alone. I would wager there is a lot more to that video shown and the lengthy manifesto the kid wrote than just getting not getting laid and being a virgin at the age of 22.

The sad fact is there seems to be a lot of disturbed people out there who feel that they need to go out and indiscriminatly kill as many people as they can because somehow in their minds they feel the whole world has mistreated them.

This a million times!! I found it interesting when the media decided to use a feminist/lack of sex spin. I saw the video and it was awful but all I saw was a sad, delusional, very mentally ill young man. No amount of love or sex could have fixed that twisted individual.

The trick is to not legalize sex but to treat mental wounds like physical, visible wounds, and to do it quickly. Lack of sex will not lead people to this, certainly some of the guys around here can vouch that lack of sex does not lead to homicidal sprees.

Sex is almost a cure-all but it can't fix an unhealthy brain.

If every guy that couldn't get laid by age 22 by sorority chicks went on a murderous rampage the population would be half what it is. Stinking rich, not exactly ugly, disfigured, nerdy looking, etc. - how much of a dickhead personality required to be unable to get laid?!? I am sure he had plenty of access to providers - lots of money plus internet = plenty of access.

Sometimes there is no "reason", some are just twisted fucks. If you MUST look for a reason with this one I would start with the "I'm perfect so if everyone else doesn't fall at my feet they must be evil" attitude in his videos and writing.

The guy's Dad was in the film industry and I do wonder if that had a little to do with his theatrics. It sounded like it was from a corny movie. So dramatic, kind of reminded me of the very public way Tony Scott :( offed himself.

Interesting thread and I got to say - I agree with Kitty and Lucy and somehow the initial statement in this thread and the arguments that followed really took a wrong turn. The legalization is one thing, like weed. But what the kid did (as really sad and terrible as it is) is totally a mental state that no one could fix - especially the idea of getting laid so this wouldn't happen. So the police interviewed him - do you think one of the questions in the interview was - when was the last time....? you fill in the blanks!

Anyway - someone will link this to another form of bullying as well? There are many takes on this - media doesn't help and the answer for everything nowadays is to punish as many people as possible. That is a sad thing. Anyway - this whole thread can get very sour and really take a wrong turn.

Just saying - you are mixing arguments!

BE SAFE OUT THERE!

EXCELLENT POST!!! I was trying to think of how to respond and you hit the points exactly! Pay attention guys, especially to the point of why we girls screen. More than anything it is for our safety.

At the risk of white knighting Harpo, I think ol' av8r (who's posts I enjoy) overreacted. Lack of sex/loneliness is not a "reason" but it's a contributing factor. I agree that legalizing prostitution would not have saved those people, because this troubled young man could have accessed prostitution without benefit of legalization.

I may have come off harshly (who, me?), but I get fucking sick of people making excuses for murderers. Rampages get blamed on violent cartoons, then violent video games, and now lack of access to hookers????

Lots of people are lonely and/or can't get laid. Call a phone sex line for gawd's sake, and take some personal responsibility.

Agreed!

While my disposition gets testy w/laco'nookie, it does not drive me into a homicidal rampage. I recognize the symptom & address the issue.

Legalization has NOTHING to do with this nut job!

Lack of sex can lead to serious psychological problems.

I have sex all the time, and I have plenty of serious psychological problems.

Yoga, exercise, a healthy diet, sunshine and lots of laughter are better than sex alone for a whole host psychological issues. Though, throw sex and affection in the mix and you're living the good life, I'll certainly admit that.

[ I agree with you 100%...there are some obese , shy , autistic , ugly , short ,too tall, amputated, old ,handicapped men who have hard time finding dates and providers are willing to see them in exchange for compensation and it is win /win situation.

This guy felt inadequate because of his height and may be seeing a provide would have helped him and build confidence.I am saying MAY BE ! The majority who see providers have some issues and if you do not think so , I am willing to sell you the pyramids at a discount price....limited time offer.lol

It's not as simple as that. There are genetic factors and the fact that those with healthy functioning brains don't kill people because they can't get laid. According to articles floating around the kid had a long standing troubles, troubles that more than likely predated his "sexual awakening".

Umm, in spite of prostitution not being legal, it isn't all that difficult to find and hook up with an escort. (Maybe you didn't know that , in spite of being a regular contributor to the board.) So the Santa Barbara mass murderer probably didn't make an effort to see escorts. Maybe he didn't believe that escorts were a solution to his particular problem. Of course, he eventually decided that randomly killing some "stuck-up sorority coeds", or as a fall-back randomly killing some other random people, was the solution he was looking for.

Also, with this individual's rather unique outlook, maybe if he had started to see escorts, he would have murdered each one after the session, to take revenge for making him pay instead of giving it to him for free (as he deserved, being a superior person). So just as well he didn't see escorts.

your reply was fine.

If it was harsh, it was no more harsh than the original post was ridiculous.

lots of points have been made , some that are very good. I am of the mind set that even though there are lots of things that go into the makeup of people there is no legitimate excuse for most of the bad things that happen. I know--- people who commit murder etc it was their environment that made them do it so they are not responsible. (YEAH RIGHT). It seems though that the majority of people who do engage in these type of mass killings are mentally ill and don't do it for lack of sex. There are plenty of murders and mayhem due to lack of money and loss of love etc. Legalizing things will not be the answer to these types of problems. Legalizing alcohol after prohibition did not result in lack of crime involving alcohol. So the original premise was that legalizing it will help. Not going to happen even if it was free.

I also think that this mass killer should be held liable for his actions. He did premeditate this and posted videos etc. He has had mental health counseling and treatment before so if he was going to do something like that he could have reached out to someone . It is hard for me to believe that he did not know it was wrong. The lack of sex was just a ploy. This is Not part of the original premise sorry if I hijacked. Just my opinion.

Well put.

I must say that I view sessions with lovely ASPs to be therapy for me. Not that I would go on a murderous rampage without them. But without such sessions, I would probably do dumb things like shack up with some woman who was only going to make me miserable and take all my money in the long run.

A good session with an ASP is probably more useful than therapy with a psychologist (for me at least, I don't know about anyone else).

I agree. My first ever escort (and I have only seen two, but much FBSM) was incredibly talkative. She said a lot of things that resembled psychotherapy. She made me feel better and I appreciated that.
