I didn't think to search the TOB discussion threads before making the appointment and I could have saved myself time, money, and aggravation by doing so first. I knew the minute they walked in that they had no intention of doing anything other than ripping me off but I was too stupid to grab the donation off the table and just kick them out. What really pissed me off is that they were so smug about it, so confident that I was just some stupid jerk to be taken advantage of. I'm way too much of a softie. Our hobby works only when there is trust and respect on both sides. Posted May 25, 2014 Sux to be ripped off like that. Used to happen to me a lot, then I learned to look scary and intimidating when being taken advantage of. Most girls will fold at the first indication of danger or a loud scene, or the possibility of LE involvement. In that situation I would have made a fake call to PD, walked out to their car to write their license plate down, and started a fake conversation about theft with an imaginary operator, with an irritated and authoritative voice. I've done this with girls who after taking my donation said they were going to call LE on me for requesting escort services illegally. They're always bluffing and have folded the few times I've done it. Often it's just enough to look and sound angry an unpredictable. However, there's always a possibility they'll turn violent, or there's a pimp or some 'bodyguard' guy who'll fight their battles for them. I guess after being scammed enough I'd rather risk it than being taken for a fool like that again. Posted May 29, 2014 Just for fun, I like to read the bad reviews, and the rip-off reviews on TOB. Interestingly, they all start with some variation on "I saw this girl on BackPage...." Given that the TOB advertisements all can be quickly paired up (by searching the last four digits of the phone or the name) with the reviews, I always wonder why guys TOFTT with an unknown off of BackPage. I honestly think that some of you must get an adrenaline rush from the possibility of getting ripped off, beat up or arrested. What else would explain the behavior? Oh yeah, maybe you like the $50 specials - if that is the case you should know by now that you get what you pay for. Posted May 30, 2014 (I'm the OP) Here's why I sometimes go to BP: 1) There's not much variety over time on TOB. This not a criticism, in fact in many ways consistency is a huge plus, but it is a fact that there are newer and/or different providers on BP than on TOB. 2) Sometimes I get a last minute itch I need to scratch, which is much easier to accomplish on BP than TOB, especially after 5 or on weekends. 3) BP is a starting place for some providers and I think it makes sense to give them a chance, even tough it involves a risk. Posted May 30, 2014 I agree with demon, on two of his points. There does seem like there are a limited choices and availability is an issue after 5 and on weekends. Sometimes it's an attraction thing, as men we tend to be visual creatures. For some I'm sure they don't want to hassle with the screening process. Some I'm sure are attracted to the pricing. Others are hunting for that unfound jewel. I have personally never been ripped off ( knock on wood ) but I've had experiences that were not that great. Some of my backpage experiences were fantastic. I guess maybe they are blue collar girls in a sense. Some guys may find that more real.
