To blog or not to blog...

10 posts in this topic

That is my question. Would you care to read a provider's blog? That which I have in mind would potentially cover everything from mundane personal experiences and thoughts to issues that arise with respect to our community.

There is, of course, an inherent concern about privacy, or a digital paper trail, so to speak. Would a blog potentially increase or engender the desire to see a provider, or would the whole effort fall under the heading of "too much information?"

I think that if the blog were well written, intelligent, and full of fun stuff.....yes it would definitely add to the desire to see the provider. As such, I don't think it would be allowed here because it would amount to shilling.

In the past, I set up a meeting with a provider specifically because of her writing. She was even more fascinating in person than her writing.

You ladies are an absolute mystery to me. BLOG away!

If I were interested in meeting a lady who had a blog, I may read it, but I don't think I would ever just read blogs of random ladies. It seems like info that may be shared in a blog could potentially scare more customers away than it attracts. JMO

I might read it if I came across it. Just don't put too much of your information out there if you don't want it to come back to you somehow, and if you don't care.............blog away, there may be a fan base that respects you more for coming out in the open.

Actually, you have two questions. First, yes, I'd read a provider's blog.

You might want to clarify--in your own mind, at least--the purpose of your blog and let that guide you.

Whether a potential hobbyist would be dissuaded or persuaded depends on a lot of variables, not the least of which include the content and intent of your blog as well as the vagaries and biases of the individual hobbyists.

Personally, I think a field test is in order... :D

I support sex worker blogs as a way to make an often marginalized group of voices heard, but I've only come across a few in my online travels so far, I suggest you check them out (just google Charlotte Shane or Nightmare Brunette for the one with an almost cathartic, artistic voice. And pm me for the other which is more about talking shop if you're interested). It is not necessarily for the clients, but that doesn't mean yours can't be.

I'd just rather see a blog speaking to the social stigmatization of sex work and ending violence/prosecution etc against sex workers rather than just be something rambling and purposeless. Not enough of our voices get a chance to be heard in any sort of public venue (internet or otherwise) and it's best to be sociopolitically aware of these sorts of things before diving into something like this.

I've read several local ladies' here: http://www.escortblogs.net/

I went to see three girls based on their writing. So it can be beneficial, but maybe not a great response, compared to the time spent. :)

No matter the subject, good writing usually brings me back. FYI, I met you once when you worked in Denver and am definitely a fan. In my opinion, blogging has a distinct writing style that's worth copying from other successful writers. Humor, intelligence, forthright POV are what I like.

As far as privacy, I'd get a VPN account to cover your tracks. Use a hosted service like wordpress.org or blogger rather than registering a domain name.

I think it would be interesting if you could truly be honest, and that might mean total anonymity.

...Sure! as long as you include a photo album...especially that hot schoolgirl outfit! :D Your fans miss you! ...so maybe sharing your intimate adventures would titilate and arouse genuine interest...in, um,...your thoughts....:P
