Posted December 5, 2012 Brubeck was one of my early music idols when i was playing in a big band back in the '80s. that tune, 'take 5' was one of our standards and remains one my all-time favorites to this day. as i remember it was a bitch to try to keep count in 5/4 time. 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Posted December 5, 2012 Definitely a sad loss. Tonight will be a jazz night in my house for sure. I think Take Five has a special place in the heart of everyone that has heard it. It might be jazz but the thoughts and feelings this song inspires transcends genre.
