Posted July 21, 2015 Cheating or not, having your name associated with these websites is frowned upon by portions of our society and jobs could be in jeopardy. Just because the hackers' made 'righteous' demands (shut down or else) does not make them right. Who knows? Perhaps they're working for the competition?
Posted July 21, 2015 Who knows? Perhaps they're working for the competition? Seriously, Occam's razor would point to this as the most likely use of any hacked data. If you are one or two hackers, and have a list of cheater's names, are you going to spend the thousands of man hours blackmailing each one for a thou or two apiece? And how long before you run across an FBI agent who doesn't like what you're doing? Plus, threats to publish names are worthless, because the legal ramifications would stop any legitimate web site from posting them. This leaves the dark web, and even jilted housewive rarely go there. No, it is much more cost effective to strip any high profile names out, and then sell the data to a competitor or back to AM for one big score.

Posted August 1, 2015 Just have to laugh: the stupes keep on putting all their information on the internet....does not matter how many big names get hacked (Home Depot, Walmart, Citibank) they just continue to think it will not happen to THEM.

Posted August 7, 2015 Have you ever been on Ashley Madison? There are a few people upset about this, and about 30 million fake women very upset that their fake profile data is going to be leaked to their fake husbands, fake children, fake dogs and cats, fake neighbors and fake lovers. For a dollar you can send them a message to see if they got caught and are getting a fake divorce. But it costs another dollar to open their fake reply. Hacking Ashley Madison is like hacking a Sims game and pretending it's real.

Posted September 12, 2015 I got one yesterday. Basically it said that they had a list of all my payments, logins and other activity on the site. Said they had prepared a letter with all the details that would be sent to "The XXXXXXX Family" at my address (which they had from the credit card billing). All I have to do to stop the letter is send 2 BTC (about $480) to their Bitcoin address within 48 hours. So, here's my thoughts on this whole thing:1) If you get one and you're worried it won't do any good to pay, and it might just make it worse. Once they realize they have someone willing to pay, they won't go away. They'll either come right back and demand more, they'll come back pretending to be a different entity doing the same thing, or they will swap your info as a "mark" with others who are doing the same thing. Paying won't help. Who knows how many people have copies of the list, trying to stop them all would be the worlds largest game of Whack A Mole.2) They won't send the letter. First, that's a lot of letters and postage expense, especially if they're overseas. Second, printing, stuffing etc thousands of letters is the hard part, trolling for suckers via an automated emailer and watching the Bitcoin balance is the easy part. Third, they know that once they DO send the letter (and presumably your spouse reads it) their leverage is gone forever. If they haven't sent it, they can continue to threaten you.The best part for me? I got to reply to the email with "Fuck off, I'm single" :o)
Posted September 18, 2015 Can't say I'm all that concerned about a bunch of cheating low-lifes having their private data stolen.now thats funny....on a site all about sex youre really gonna judge people on another site looking for sex? Im sure everyone here is upstanding citizens, single and probably Boy Scouts so we can certainly assume everyone on AM are low lifes

I have also used your user profile to findyour Facebook page, using this I can now message all of your friends andfamily members. If you would like to prevent me from sharing this dirt info with all ofyour friends and family members (and perhaps even your employers too?) thenyou need to send 1 bitcoin You may be wondering why should you and what will prevent other people fromdoing the same, in short you now know to change your privacy settings inFacebook so no one can view your friends/family list.
