Posted April 4, 2015 You've probably seen something about this trial. The operator of ugotposted.com & changemyreputation.com just got 18 years for ID theft & extortion. I think the extortion aspect of his operation was the main issue. Posted April 4, 2015 Personally, I think a public castration would have been a more suitable punishment. But I'm glad he gets at least substantial jail time. Doubtful since reusing photos put into the public domain (posted online by owner) without copyright AND without personal information attached when "stolen" is pretty different from this. Posting something online doesn't make it public domain. Not in the least -- unless you are using the term differently (perhaps a more proper phrasing would be "publicly accessible).
