Or if in Denver, brunch at Brown Palace is also old school brunch.

As for mountains, it's mud season right now, so, maybe not so much a to go to place right now. And with big snow coming to the area, if roads passable with not too much delay, maybe A-Basin or Loveland for some skiing.

Rafting, doable, but water is REALLY cold right now.

Glenwood, long drive, but hotsprings are nice. Idaho Springs closer.

Denver: Botanic Gardens, zoo, Wash Park, when weather turns nice, any place with a roof or patio, Red Rocks, Boulder's Pearl St Mall. Springs: Broadmoor, Garden of the Gods.

"Westword" paper and website for listings for clubs, restaurants.

It's a great time of year to day trip the mountains. Animals are still down low, some snow on the ground makes great hiking and many of the back roads are open. Get away from it all and commune with nature.

Don't forget your bottle of wine and have fun.

For scenery-look west. That is where you start. The mountains are within your reach and there are many fine parks that are in the foothills. "Lair of the bear" is real close with good hiking trails and dog friendly if you keep them on a leash. There is also the Deckers area which is also a easy drive and public fishing is available , as is some 'gold medal" river front. But, I believe that is fly fishing only. If that isn't what you are interested in and you would rather take in city culture then wer have a good museums in the downtown area , along with any type of music venue you would care to enjoy. Lo- do the night life is always happening and that area is part of Denver's red-light district from years past.

Hoping to see you when you are in Denver, I'll fill you in on many things to do. However, if you are anything like the other Dallas Ladies who have been up recently you won't have much free time.
