So I've never heard of the Latino brothels before. Do we have these here? If so, how do I find one?

Are you referring to the brothels in Mexican towns like TJ which are aimed at the tourist trade?

Or are you referring to the Hispanic brothels in CO aimed at the immigrant population?

Is anyone wondering why the Feds commissioned a study on the economics of an underground business - our hobby? Think of all the tax revenue the Fed, State, and Local governments missed out on the nearly $1B in trade in just those six cities alone. Pretty lucrative.

I don't know about you, but I don't want to be around when govies start regulating and taxing our hobby

The study did find pricing was consistent across the country, with $150 an hour the common going rate for prostitution.

See it's official...we're overpaying here in Denver...LOL...;)

...Happy Hobbying...

...Crazy Horse...

As a long time (retired) government employee (USPS), the one truism I learned about agencies is that they have to justify their existence.

They can either say how "good" they are, or demonize an activity or product so that they can regulate, control or prosecute (presecute) it.

The Urban Institute advertises itself as "nonpartisan economic and social policy research" See the top of their web page.

http://www.urban.org/publications/413047.html

Two questions for them.

1. How much of their total income is derived from government grants?

2. What is (was) their methodology of the research. (If they did any at all.)

The first word of the paper title gives a major clue.

"Estimating"

My thoughts on the "paper" can best be summed up using the words of General Norman Schwarzkopf.

He memorably dismissed one report he disagreed with as "bovine scatology."

Remember, the study was paid for by the government, so it will say any damn thing they want it to say.

Be well.
