Posted December 28, 2023 (edited) I just heard today that Tommy Smothers passed on Dec 26th from cancer. I loved watching the Smothers Brothers back in the 60’s. RIP Tommy! Edited December 28, 2023 by ilovewomen Spelling
Posted December 28, 2023 He and Dick made a huge difference with their variety show. Their show was well crafted, controversial and engaging. The writing was outstanding. Tommy always played the "naive" one but he was responsible for a lot of their content and was the main one to drive their business.
Posted December 28, 2023 Sad that a great source of laughter has left us at a time the world could use more. I remember having to sneak watching the Smothers Brothers because it was too racy for impressionable young minds. More than once audible laughing gave me away, followed by "shut that crap off" from down the hall lol. Guess the restrictions did not work lol.
