I am overwhelmed with Grattitude from all the messages and out pouring of love and the stories you have all shared. My son, 15 years old ended his life on 11-04-21 after a long battle with Autism, anxiety and depression. While I am too a private person and don’t tend to share with most, I want to share his story because no one should ever feel alone.  I honestly don’t know how I’m going to get through each day without him but I am grateful to have such support from this community as you have all been with me for several years now. I would dare to say that I am closer to most of my clients than I am a lot of my family and that is ok. We find comfort in the places where we feel it the most and I feel your love and support here more than anywhere. Thank you all for everything❤️

Though I have already posted in this thread, your post touched me deeply.  Loss like this can feel overwhelming.  Mental health issues can be so challenging.  As someone with lived experience, so may folks don't get the challenges of mental health issues.  For many, because you can't "see it", it must not be real, like a physical issue.  I can attest to the fact that mental health issues are VERY real and challenging for the person experiencing them and for those close to them.  Please, continue to take care of yourself and continue to use folks who are supportive...who don't "tell you how to feel", but are there to listen, or just be there with you in the silence of grief and loss.

From what I have learned of this community I expected nothing less then the genuine outpouring of care and support. I would gently remind all us to be aware that while, in the coming weeks, months our lives will move on. Their lives will still be centered around this tragedy. I mean nothing negative in that. It is natural. As we go on to our daily live they will struggle to cope with with a new normal. A normal they do not want. The next few weeks, months will be extremely difficult. And not just because it is the holiday season.  Depression, anxiety, hopelessness and anger can to easily become overwhelming influences  in their lives. Even if it means circling dates on the calendar, all of us need to continue to check-in on them. I do not know them personally but I will honestly try to ask, privately, those of you who do know them, how they are doing. I know it will be necessary for me to circle dates on a calendar. That's just the way life is sometimes. I still pray each morning for strength and peace for them.

@TattooedBombShell @Marilyn Desire  The first holiday is upon us. For this Mom it will be her first with an empty chair at the dinner table. An empty hole in her heart.  An empty that will remain forever.  Holidays will forever be painful reminders of what was lost. This is a week of giving!! Please remember this family.

Marilyn has written a tribute blog to her nephew and her sister on her website, titled "Grief - November 8, 2021".  I just finished reading it🖤 Please take the time to go read about this sweet boy, and just how much he will forever be missed. This family needs our help in any way we can. 💔

Thank you so much for being so kind and gracious. Yes the Holidays are hard and having to go through it so soon after my sons loss is even harder but I’m thankful I have 3 other kids that keep me going every day even on the days I don’t want to. I appreciate all of you so much! Thank you to everyone who donated to the go fund me as well. I was able to order my sons headstone and I couldn’t have done that without your generous giving. Have a blessed week everyone!
