He (and the Spencer Davis Group) was another artist whose influence may have exceeded his own success. Bands that did covers of SDG tunes included Chicago, The Allman Brothers, The Grateful Dead, Three Dog Night and the Blues Brothers. Plus the Winwood Brothers (Steve and Muff) were part of the original lineup with Steve forming/playing with Traffic and Blind Faith.
