Posted April 10, 2020 (edited) Here is my general financial assistance philosophy In terms of providing financial assistance, I generally only provide money directly to highly rated animal and human shelter charities. I do this because: 1. The assistance likely goes to those most in need; 2. I trust that the money will be used appropriately; 3. Other than item 2, no expectation is created on my part; and 4. It makes me feel better about myself. (The Ayn Rand perspective on charitable donations is that people donate for selfish reasons,i.e., to feel good about themselves. ) In my personal experience, loans or assistance provided directly to individuals typically do not have any of the above characteristics. There are a few individuals that I would provide assistance to directly, but they are immediate family and a few close friends. I know they would do the same for me. While my fiances have taken a hit, I am currently ok, and have ramped up my charitable donations in the last month Edited April 10, 2020 by BBT-8367 error

So that'll significantly reduce the pool. Plus, of course I'm getting lots of offers to buy premade shit, links to websites, etc. I don't pay for premade content. Rule #1: I don't pay for porn unless I'm in it. Edited April 10, 2020 by 2Big

The funny thing is: if you over folks a real job instead of a handout, a connection to your business network, help with stabilizing their business, etc. you often never hear from them again.

So just say TLDR as predicted for anything you have no real response for and then throw out the "news" that a federal program is an unwieldy and hard to work with cluster fuck!!!! Stop the presses, never ever heard of this before! If that is the best argument against saying it is not the same in terms of impacts and options, then I guess discussion is over. As usual a treat having an intelligent conversation with you.
