Posted April 28, 2015 So we all have hear the refrain on TOB "stay out of Lakewood", so I guess there is a history of stings in Lakewood. What is curious, is that I also hobby in Seattle, and there is a community up there called Lakewood near Tacoma, and often the refrain up there on TNA is "stay out of Lakewood." Seems to be due to both ripoffs and stings. Here are a few examples for those with TNA logins (hope posting competing board references is OK) https://www.tnaboard.com/showthread.php?710539-Dangerous-hotels-thread-2&highlight=Lakewood https://www.tnaboard.com/showthread.php?866341-Its-official-Kirkland-is-BAD-NEWS!!!!&highlight=Lakewood https://www.tnaboard.com/showthread.php?855538-Days-Inn-stings-police-are-all-over-here!-Tacoma-Mall-Blvd-DAYS-INN&highlight=Lakewood https://www.tnaboard.com/showthread.php?723670-rob-ariel-off-backpage&highlight=Lakewood HeatherNoel told me that there is also a Lakewood, CA, and the reputation for hobbiests and providers in CA is also "Stay out of Lakewood", although I have no knowledge about Lakewood, CA. Weird coincidence, urban legend, self propagating Meme, or what?
Posted April 28, 2015 Also a Lakewood, OH. As far as I know there isn't stigma about staying out of the area for hobbiest though.

Posted April 28, 2015 If I ever get the honor of naming a city, I'm going to call it Morningwood.
Posted April 29, 2015 I grew up in Lakewood WA. "Stay out of Lakewood" is just general, all around good advise. Nothing to do with any particular hobby. Re Morningwood. Isn't that right beside Happy Valley?
Posted April 29, 2015 Re Morningwood. Isn't that right beside Happy Valley? Actually, I think Morningwood leads directly into Happy Valley. Unless the gate is closed.
