Posted April 22, 2012 So am taking a road trip for personal reasons to northern Iowa AKA No Where Iowa this week. Has anyone found that amazing little out of the way Mom & Pops eatery ? Posted April 22, 2012 Lol, I do that a lot and love adventures to destination unknown. No packing, no maps, no plan............just head out and see where you end up. The people look at you strange because they know you are just passing through. Then you find a little hidden gem in a restaurant that just blows you away while the waitstaff is curious to know who you are and where you're headed. Destination unknown...............love it. Posted April 23, 2012 Those "middle of nowhere" trips turn out to be some of the best. My recent favorite was heading out on a Harley following old Route 66 across 4 states. Hey gotta have some enjoyment on the drive to no where LOL I've spent a lot of time running around "The Great American Outback" and culinary gems or cute little stores are rare. However, drop in on a Friday night to the kind of high school b-ball game where 75 folks in the gym is over-flow or they're playing 8-man football (better yet, wrestling season in Iowa) and it can lead to making life-long friends with some of America's most decent and interesting people.
